Supplication of Saying Bismillah at the Beginning of Food

In the name of Allah. If one forgets to say it at the beginning, let them say: “In the name of Allah, its beginning and its end.”

O Allah, bless it for us and increase us (in provision) from it.

Supplication After Finishing Food

All praise is due to Allah Who fed me this and provided it for me without any power or strength from myself. All praise is due to Allah — abundant, pure, and blessed praise — not to be dispensed with, nor left, nor without need of our Lord.

Supplication for the One Who Hosted You at Iftar

May the fasting people break their fast with you, and may the righteous eat your food, and may the angels send blessings upon you.

The Prophet’s ﷺ Manner of Drinking in Three Breaths

The Prophet ﷺ used to drink in three breaths. When he brought the vessel close to his mouth, he would say Bismillah (in the name of Allah), and when he moved it away, he would praise Allah. He would do this three times.
