Morning Adhkar

Inspired by the stories of the Prophets in the Qur’an

Supplication for Glad Tidings and Joy

O Allah, bring me glad tidings as You brought glad tidings to Jacob with Joseph, and grant me joy as You brought joy to Zechariah with the news of John.

Partly from the Qur’an (Surah Ta-Ha: 25–28), and partly a known supplication

Supplication for Ease and Clarity in Speech

My Lord, expand my chest, and ease my task for me, and untie the knot from my tongue, so that they may understand my speech. O Allah, there is nothing easy except what You make easy, and You can make sadness easy if You will, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

Prophetic Hadith — Narrated by Abu Dawood and Al-Tirmidhi

O Allah, I Seek Refuge in You from Going Astray or Being Led Astray

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from going astray or being led astray, from slipping or being caused to slip, from wronging others or being wronged, from acting ignorantly or having ignorance directed at me.

Prophetic Hadith — Sahih Muslim (Book of Prayer, Hadith 763)

Supplication for Light

O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my tongue, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light above me, light beneath me, light on my right, light on my left, light in front of me, light behind me. Place light in my soul, magnify my light, increase my light, make me light, grant me light, place light in my nerves, in my flesh, in my blood, in my hair, in my skin. O Allah, place light in my grave, and light in my bones, increase me in light, increase me in light, increase me in light, and grant me light upon light.

Supplication for Ease and Kind People’s Support

O Allah, You who subjugate the strong to serve the weak, make Your kind servants around me inclined to help me, make my affairs easy for me, and provide for me from sources I could never expect.

Supplication for Guidance from Darkness to Light

O Allah, take me from darkness to light
