Hadiths on Dreams from Sahih Muslim

Abu Qatadah reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say:
"A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan. So if any of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him spit to his left three times and seek refuge in Allah from its evil, for it will not harm him."

Abu Qatadah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"A good dream is from Allah, and a bad dream is from Satan. Whoever sees a dream and dislikes any part of it should spit to his left, seek refuge in Allah from Satan—it will not harm him—and should not relate it to anyone.
If he sees a good dream, let him be glad, and relate it only to someone he loves."

Abu Hurairah reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
"When the time approaches, the dream of a Muslim will hardly ever lie. The truest among you in dreams is the truest in speech.

The dream of a Muslim is a part of forty-five parts of prophethood, and dreams are of three kinds: a good dream is glad tidings from Allah, a distressing dream is from Satan, and a dream from what a person talks to himself about.

So if one of you sees something disliked, let him get up and pray, and do not relate it to people."

And he said: "If any of you has a dream, do not relate the devil’s play in it to anyone."

Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a Bedouin who came to him:
"I dreamed that my head was cut off, so I am following it."

The Prophet ﷺ rebuked him and said:
"Do not report the devil’s play with you in a dream."

Ibn ‘Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say to his companions:
"Whoever among you sees a vision should relate it; I will interpret it for him."

Anas ibn Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"One night, in a dream as one sees while asleep, it seemed as if we were in the house of ‘Uqbah ibn Rafi‘. We were brought dates from the dates of Ibn Tab. I foresaw for us elevation in this world and success in the Hereafter, and that our religion had been made wholesome."

Abdullah ibn ‘Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"I saw in a dream that I was using a tooth-stick (siwāk). Two men pulled me, one of them bigger than the other. I handed the tooth-stick to the smaller of the two. It was said to me: 'Give it to the bigger one.' So I gave it to the bigger one."

Abu Musa reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“I saw in a dream that I was migrating from Mecca to a land with palm trees. My family thought it was Al-Yamamah or Hijr, but it was Medina (Yathrib). And in this vision, I shook a sword, and its blade broke.”

Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“While I was sleeping, I saw two bracelets of gold in my hands. Their matter concerned me. Then it was revealed to me in the dream to blow on them, so I did, and they were torn apart. I interpreted them as two liars who would appear after me. One was Al-Ansi, the ruler of San‘a, and the other was Musaylimah, the ruler of Al-Yamamah.”
