"The testimony of a treacherous man or a treacherous woman is not acceptable,
nor the testimony of one who has been punished with a ḥadd penalty,

nor of one whose testimony has been tested and found unreliable,
nor of a servant of a household (who is under their control),
nor of one suspected due to loyalty (walā’) or kinship."
The Danger of False Testimony
Narrated by Ayman ibn Khuraym:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and addressed the people, saying:
"O people, false testimony has been made equal to associating partners with Allah."

"Associating partners with Allah, disobedience to parents, and false testimony — or speaking falsehood."
He (the narrator) said:
"The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept repeating it until we wished he would stop."
People Who Give Testimony Before Being Asked
ʿImrān ibn Ḥuṣayn said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say:
“The best of people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them — three generations. Then there will come a people after them who grow fat and love obesity; they give testimony before they are asked to give it.”
Chapter: What Has Been Reported About False Testimony
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“The best of people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then lying will spread until a man gives testimony without being asked to testify, and a man swears an oath without being requested to swear.”
