Hell Will Be Brought Forth on the Day of Resurrection

ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“On that Day, Hell will be brought forth having seventy thousand reins; with every rein there will be seventy thousand angels dragging it.”

A Neck Will Emerge from Hellfire

From Abū Hurayrah, who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“A neck will emerge from Hell on the Day of Resurrection; it will have two eyes that see, two ears that hear, and a tongue that speaks. It will say: I have been assigned to seize three types of people: every stubborn tyrant, everyone who associated another god with Allah, and the image-makers (those who make idols or animate images).

The Bottom of Hell Is Seventy Years (of Falling)

From ‘Utbah ibn Ghazwān, from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:
“Indeed, a great boulder is cast from the edge of Hell, and it falls through it for seventy years without reaching its bottom.”

The Enlargement of the Disbeliever’s Body Parts to Increase His Punishment

From Abū Hurayrah, from the Prophet (ﷺ), who said:
“Indeed, the thickness of the disbeliever’s skin will be forty-two cubits;
and his molar tooth will be like (the mountain of) Uhud;
and his seat in Hell will be like the distance between Makkah and Madinah.”

The Increase of Punishment upon the Disbeliever

Abū Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“The molar tooth of the disbeliever on the Day of Resurrection will be like (the mountain of) Uhud;
and his thigh will be like (the size of) al-Bayḍā’;
and his seat in the Fire will be (a distance) of three (days’ travel) like (the distance of) al-Rabdhah.”

The Fire of This World Is One Part of Seventy Parts of Hellfire

Abū Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Your fire — the one that the children of Adam kindle — is one part out of seventy parts of the heat of Hell.”

They said: “By Allah, even this (worldly fire) would have been sufficient, O Messenger of Allah!”
He said:
“It has been increased by sixty-nine parts, all of them like its heat.”

The Intensity of the Fire of the Hereafter

Abū Saʿīd reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Your fire — this fire of yours — is one part of seventy parts of the fire of Hell.
Each part has its own heat.”

The Two Breaths of Hellfire

Abū Hurayrah reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Hellfire complained to its Lord, saying: ‘Parts of me have consumed other parts.’
So He granted it two breaths: one in winter and one in summer.
As for its breath in winter — it is the extreme cold (zamharīr);
and as for its breath in summer — it is the scorching heat (samūm).”
