Prophet Isaac (peace be upon him) and His Children

Isaac (peace be upon him) is a prophet of Allah and the ancestor of a blessed lineage, holding a great status in the Abrahamic religions.

• Isaac (peace be upon him) was the son of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) and married his cousin Rebekah by Allah’s command.

Who are the children of Isaac (peace be upon him)?
Allah granted Isaac (peace be upon him) two blessed sons:

1. Jacob (peace be upon him) Known as Israel, he had twelve sons who became the tribes of Israel. Jacob (peace be upon him) was a prophet and his life is full of important lessons and stories. Jacob (peace be upon him) is the ancestor of the Israelites and part of the lineage of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
2. Esau He was the twin brother of Jacob (peace be upon him). Known as Edom, his descendants became the Edomites.

Isaac (peace be upon him) initially favored Esau, but Allah chose Jacob (peace be upon him) to be the prophet.
