How Eid Prayer is Performed

1. Standing in Rows:
   Muslims go to the designated prayer area or musalla and line up in organized rows.
2. Takbirs:
   The prayer begins with celebratory Takbirs, where worshippers say “Allahu Akbar” aloud. There are seven Takbirs in total: four before starting the prayer, and three before beginning the first unit (rakat).
3. Reciting Al-Fatiha and a Surah:
   In the first rakat, after the Takbirs, the Imam recites Al-Fatiha followed by another Surah. In the second rakat, Al-Fatiha and another Surah are also recited.
4. Bowing and Prostration:
   The two rakats are completed as in a regular prayer, with worshippers performing bowing (ruku) and prostration (sujood) normally.
5. Sermon (Khutbah):
   After the prayer, the Imam delivers a short sermon giving advice and guidance to the congregation. This sermon is considered an integral part of the Eid prayer.

Eid prayer is a congregational prayer with special Takbirs and a sermon. It consists of only two rakats and is performed without the call to prayer (Adhan) and Iqamah.
