Basmala
سُبْحَـٰنَٱلَّذِىٓأَسْرَىٰبِعَبْدِهِۦلَيْلًۭامِّنَٱلْمَسْجِدِٱلْحَرَامِإِلَىٱلْمَسْجِدِٱلْأَقْصَاٱلَّذِىبَـٰرَكْنَاحَوْلَهُۥلِنُرِيَهُۥمِنْءَايَـٰتِنَآ ۚإِنَّهُۥهُوَٱلسَّمِيعُٱلْبَصِيرُ
l-baṣīrul-samīʿuhuwainnahuāyātināminlinuriyahuḥawlahubāraknāalladhīl-aqṣāl-masjidiilāl-ḥarāmil-masjidiminalaylanbiʿabdihiasrāalladhīsub'ḥāna
Exalted(is) the One WhotookHis servant(by) nightfromAl-Masjid Al-HaraamAl-Masjid Al-HaraamtoAl-Masjid Al-AqsaAl-Masjid Al-AqsawhichWe blessedits surroundingsthat We may show himofOur SignsIndeed HeHe(is) the All-Hearerthe All-Seer
17:1
وَءَاتَيْنَامُوسَىٱلْكِتَـٰبَوَجَعَلْنَـٰهُهُدًۭىلِّبَنِىٓإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَأَلَّاتَتَّخِذُوا۟مِندُونِىوَكِيلًۭا
wakīlandūnīmintattakhidhūallāis'rāīlalibanīhudanwajaʿalnāhul-kitābamūsāwaātaynā
And We gaveMusathe Bookand made ita guidancefor the Children(of) IsraelThat notyou takeother than Meother than Me(as) a Disposer of affairs
17:2
ذُرِّيَّةَمَنْحَمَلْنَامَعَنُوحٍ ۚإِنَّهُۥكَانَعَبْدًۭاشَكُورًۭا
shakūranʿabdankānainnahunūḥinmaʿaḥamalnāmandhurriyyata
Offsprings(of one) whoWe carriedwithNuhIndeed, hewasa servantgrateful
17:3
وَقَضَيْنَآإِلَىٰبَنِىٓإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَفِىٱلْكِتَـٰبِلَتُفْسِدُنَّفِىٱلْأَرْضِمَرَّتَيْنِوَلَتَعْلُنَّعُلُوًّۭاكَبِيرًۭا
kabīranʿuluwwanwalataʿlunnamarrataynil-arḍifīlatuf'sidunnal-kitābifīis'rāīlabanīilāwaqaḍaynā
And We decreedfor(the) Children(of) Israelinthe BookSurely you will cause corruptioninthe earthtwiceand surely you will reachhaughtinessgreat
17:4
فَإِذَاجَآءَوَعْدُأُولَىٰهُمَابَعَثْنَاعَلَيْكُمْعِبَادًۭالَّنَآأُو۟لِىبَأْسٍۢشَدِيدٍۢفَجَاسُوا۟خِلَـٰلَٱلدِّيَارِ ۚوَكَانَوَعْدًۭامَّفْعُولًۭا
mafʿūlanwaʿdanwakānal-diyārikhilālafajāsūshadīdinbasinulīlanāʿibādanʿalaykumbaʿathnāūlāhumāwaʿdujāafa-idhā
So whencame(the) promise(for) the first of the twoWe raisedagainst youservantsof Oursthose of great military mightthose of great military mightthose of great military mightand they enteredthe inner most part(of) the homesand (it) wasa promisefulfilled
17:5
ثُمَّرَدَدْنَالَكُمُٱلْكَرَّةَعَلَيْهِمْوَأَمْدَدْنَـٰكُمبِأَمْوَٰلٍۢوَبَنِينَوَجَعَلْنَـٰكُمْأَكْثَرَنَفِيرًا
nafīranaktharawajaʿalnākumwabanīnabi-amwālinwa-amdadnākumʿalayhiml-karatalakumuradadnāthumma
ThenWe gave backto youthe return victoryover themAnd We reinforced youwith the wealthand sonsand made youmorenumerous
17:6
إِنْأَحْسَنتُمْأَحْسَنتُمْلِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۖوَإِنْأَسَأْتُمْفَلَهَا ۚفَإِذَاجَآءَوَعْدُٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِلِيَسُـۥٓـُٔوا۟وُجُوهَكُمْوَلِيَدْخُلُوا۟ٱلْمَسْجِدَكَمَادَخَلُوهُأَوَّلَمَرَّةٍۢوَلِيُتَبِّرُوا۟مَاعَلَوْا۟تَتْبِيرًا
tatbīranʿalawmāwaliyutabbirūmarratinawwaladakhalūhukamāl-masjidawaliyadkhulūwujūhakumliyasūūl-ākhiratiwaʿdujāafa-idhāfalahāasatumwa-inli-anfusikumaḥsantumaḥsantumin
Ifyou do goodyou do goodfor yourselvesand ifyou do evilthen it is for itSo whencamepromisethe lastto saddenyour facesand to enterthe Masjidjust asthey (had) entered itfirsttimeand to destroywhatthey had conquered(with) destruction
17:7
عَسَىٰرَبُّكُمْأَنيَرْحَمَكُمْ ۚوَإِنْعُدتُّمْعُدْنَا ۘوَجَعَلْنَاجَهَنَّمَلِلْكَـٰفِرِينَحَصِيرًا
ḥaṣīranlil'kāfirīnajahannamawajaʿalnāʿud'nāʿudttumwa-inyarḥamakumanrabbukumʿasā
(It) may bethat your Lordthat your Lord(may) have mercy upon youBut ifyou returnWe will returnAnd We have madeHellfor the disbelieversa prison-bed
17:8
إِنَّهَـٰذَاٱلْقُرْءَانَيَهْدِىلِلَّتِىهِىَأَقْوَمُوَيُبَشِّرُٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَٱلَّذِينَيَعْمَلُونَٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِأَنَّلَهُمْأَجْرًۭاكَبِيرًۭا
kabīranajranlahumannal-ṣāliḥātiyaʿmalūnaalladhīnal-mu'minīnawayubashiruaqwamuhiyalillatīyahdīl-qur'ānahādhāinna
Indeedthisthe Quranguidesto thatwhich(is) most straightand gives glad tidingsto the believers those whodothe righteous deedsthatfor them(is) a rewardgreat
17:9
وَأَنَّٱلَّذِينَلَايُؤْمِنُونَبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِأَعْتَدْنَالَهُمْعَذَابًاأَلِيمًۭا
alīmanʿadhābanlahumaʿtadnābil-ākhiratiyu'minūnalāalladhīnawa-anna
And thatthose who(do) notbelievein the HereafterWe have preparedfor thema punishmentpainful
17:10
وَيَدْعُٱلْإِنسَـٰنُبِٱلشَّرِّدُعَآءَهُۥبِٱلْخَيْرِ ۖوَكَانَٱلْإِنسَـٰنُعَجُولًۭا
ʿajūlanl-insānuwakānabil-khayriduʿāahubil-sharil-insānuwayadʿu
And praysthe manfor evil(as) he praysfor the goodAnd isthe manever hasty
17:11
وَجَعَلْنَاٱلَّيْلَوَٱلنَّهَارَءَايَتَيْنِ ۖفَمَحَوْنَآءَايَةَٱلَّيْلِوَجَعَلْنَآءَايَةَٱلنَّهَارِمُبْصِرَةًۭلِّتَبْتَغُوا۟فَضْلًۭامِّنرَّبِّكُمْوَلِتَعْلَمُوا۟عَدَدَٱلسِّنِينَوَٱلْحِسَابَ ۚوَكُلَّشَىْءٍۢفَصَّلْنَـٰهُتَفْصِيلًۭا
tafṣīlanfaṣṣalnāhushayinwakullawal-ḥisābal-sinīnaʿadadawalitaʿlamūrabbikumminfaḍlanlitabtaghūmub'ṣiratanl-nahāriāyatawajaʿalnāal-layliāyatafamaḥawnāāyatayniwal-nahāraal-laylawajaʿalnā
And We have madethe nightand the day(as) two signsThen We erased(the) sign(of) the nightand We made(the) sign(of) the dayvisiblethat you may seekbountyfromyour Lordand that you may know(the) number(of) the yearsand the accountAnd everything We have explained it(in) detail
17:12
وَكُلَّإِنسَـٰنٍأَلْزَمْنَـٰهُطَـٰٓئِرَهُۥفِىعُنُقِهِۦ ۖوَنُخْرِجُلَهُۥيَوْمَٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِكِتَـٰبًۭايَلْقَىٰهُمَنشُورًا
manshūranyalqāhukitābanl-qiyāmatiyawmalahuwanukh'rijuʿunuqihifīṭāirahualzamnāhuinsāninwakulla
And (for) everymanWe have fastened to himhis fateinhis neckand We will bring forthfor him(on the) Day(of) the Resurrectiona recordwhich he will findwide open
17:13
ٱقْرَأْكِتَـٰبَكَكَفَىٰبِنَفْسِكَٱلْيَوْمَعَلَيْكَحَسِيبًۭا
ḥasībanʿalaykal-yawmabinafsikakafākitābakaiq'ra
Readyour recordSufficient(is) yourselftodayagainst you(as) accountant
17:14
مَّنِٱهْتَدَىٰفَإِنَّمَايَهْتَدِىلِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖوَمَنضَلَّفَإِنَّمَايَضِلُّعَلَيْهَا ۚوَلَاتَزِرُوَازِرَةٌۭوِزْرَأُخْرَىٰ ۗوَمَاكُنَّامُعَذِّبِينَحَتَّىٰنَبْعَثَرَسُولًۭا
rasūlannabʿathaḥattāmuʿadhibīnakunnāwamāukh'rāwiz'rawāziratuntaziruwalāʿalayhāyaḍillufa-innamāḍallawamanlinafsihiyahtadīfa-innamāih'tadāmani
Whoever(is) guidedthen onlyhe is guidedfor his soulAnd whoevergoes astraythen onlyhe goes astrayagainst itAnd notwill beara bearer of burdenburden(of) anotherAnd notWeare to punishuntilWe have senta Messenger
17:15
وَإِذَآأَرَدْنَآأَننُّهْلِكَقَرْيَةًأَمَرْنَامُتْرَفِيهَافَفَسَقُوا۟فِيهَافَحَقَّعَلَيْهَاٱلْقَوْلُفَدَمَّرْنَـٰهَاتَدْمِيرًۭا
tadmīranfadammarnāhāl-qawluʿalayhāfaḥaqqafīhāfafasaqūmut'rafīhāamarnāqaryatannuh'likaanaradnāwa-idhā
And whenWe intendthatWe destroya townWe orderits wealthy peoplebut they defiantly disobeythereinso (is) proved trueagainst itthe wordand We destroy it(with) destruction
17:16
وَكَمْأَهْلَكْنَامِنَٱلْقُرُونِمِنۢبَعْدِنُوحٍۢ ۗوَكَفَىٰبِرَبِّكَبِذُنُوبِعِبَادِهِۦخَبِيرًۢابَصِيرًۭا
baṣīrankhabīranʿibādihibidhunūbibirabbikawakafānūḥinbaʿdiminl-qurūniminaahlaknāwakam
And how manyWe destroyedfromthe generationsafterafterNuhAnd sufficient(is) your Lordconcerning the sins(of) His servantsAll-AwareAll-Seer
17:17
مَّنكَانَيُرِيدُٱلْعَاجِلَةَعَجَّلْنَالَهُۥفِيهَامَانَشَآءُلِمَننُّرِيدُثُمَّجَعَلْنَالَهُۥجَهَنَّمَيَصْلَىٰهَامَذْمُومًۭامَّدْحُورًۭا
madḥūranmadhmūmanyaṣlāhājahannamalahujaʿalnāthummanurīdulimannashāumāfīhālahuʿajjalnāl-ʿājilatayurīdukānaman
Whoevershoulddesirethe immediateWe hastenfor himin itwhatWe willto whomWe intendThenWe have madefor himHellhe will burndisgracedrejected
17:18
وَمَنْأَرَادَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةَوَسَعَىٰلَهَاسَعْيَهَاوَهُوَمُؤْمِنٌۭفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَكَانَسَعْيُهُممَّشْكُورًۭا
mashkūransaʿyuhumkānafa-ulāikamu'minunwahuwasaʿyahālahāwasaʿāl-ākhirataarādawaman
And whoeverdesiresthe Hereafterand exertsfor itthe effortwhile he(is) a believerthen those[are]their effort(is) appreciated
17:19
كُلًّۭانُّمِدُّهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِوَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِمِنْعَطَآءِرَبِّكَ ۚوَمَاكَانَعَطَآءُرَبِّكَمَحْظُورًا
maḥẓūranrabbikaʿaṭāukānawamārabbikaʿaṭāiminwahāulāihāulāinumiddukullan
(To) eachWe extend(to) theseand (to) thesefrom(the) gift(of) your LordAnd notis(the) gift(of) your Lordrestricted
17:20
ٱنظُرْكَيْفَفَضَّلْنَابَعْضَهُمْعَلَىٰبَعْضٍۢ ۚوَلَلْـَٔاخِرَةُأَكْبَرُدَرَجَـٰتٍۢوَأَكْبَرُتَفْضِيلًۭا
tafḍīlanwa-akbarudarajātinakbaruwalalākhiratubaʿḍinʿalābaʿḍahumfaḍḍalnākayfaunẓur
SeehowWe preferredsome of themoverothersAnd surely the Hereafter(is) greater(in) degreesand greater(in) excellence
17:21
لَّاتَجْعَلْمَعَٱللَّهِإِلَـٰهًاءَاخَرَفَتَقْعُدَمَذْمُومًۭامَّخْذُولًۭا
makhdhūlanmadhmūmanfataqʿudaākharailāhanl-lahimaʿatajʿallā
(Do) notmakewithAllahgodanotherlest you will sitdisgracedforsaken
17:22
۞ وَقَضَىٰرَبُّكَأَلَّاتَعْبُدُوٓا۟إِلَّآإِيَّاهُوَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِإِحْسَـٰنًا ۚإِمَّايَبْلُغَنَّعِندَكَٱلْكِبَرَأَحَدُهُمَآأَوْكِلَاهُمَافَلَاتَقُللَّهُمَآأُفٍّۢوَلَاتَنْهَرْهُمَاوَقُللَّهُمَاقَوْلًۭاكَرِيمًۭا
karīmanqawlanlahumāwaqultanharhumāwalāuffinlahumātaqulfalākilāhumāawaḥaduhumāl-kibaraʿindakayablughannaimmāiḥ'sānanwabil-wālidayniiyyāhuillātaʿbudūallārabbukawaqaḍā
And has decreedyour Lordthat (do) notworshipexceptHim Aloneand to the parents(be) goodWhetherreachwith youthe old ageone of themorboth of themthen (do) notsayto both of thema word of disrespectand (do) notrepel thembut speakto thema wordnoble
17:23
وَٱخْفِضْلَهُمَاجَنَاحَٱلذُّلِّمِنَٱلرَّحْمَةِوَقُلرَّبِّٱرْحَمْهُمَاكَمَارَبَّيَانِىصَغِيرًۭا
ṣaghīranrabbayānīkamāir'ḥamhumārabbiwaqull-raḥmatiminal-dhulijanāḥalahumāwa-ikh'fiḍ
And lowerto them(the) wing(of) humility(out) of[the] mercyand sayMy LordHave mercy on both of themasthey brought me up(when I was) small
17:24
رَّبُّكُمْأَعْلَمُبِمَافِىنُفُوسِكُمْ ۚإِنتَكُونُوا۟صَـٰلِحِينَفَإِنَّهُۥكَانَلِلْأَوَّٰبِينَغَفُورًۭا
ghafūranlil'awwābīnakānafa-innahuṣāliḥīnatakūnūinnufūsikumfībimāaʿlamurabbukum
Your Lord(is) most knowingof what(is) inyourselvesIfyou arerighteousthen indeed, Heisto those who often turn (to Him)Most Forgiving
17:25
وَءَاتِذَاٱلْقُرْبَىٰحَقَّهُۥوَٱلْمِسْكِينَوَٱبْنَٱلسَّبِيلِوَلَاتُبَذِّرْتَبْذِيرًا
tabdhīrantubadhirwalāl-sabīliwa-ib'nawal-mis'kīnaḥaqqahul-qur'bādhāwaāti
And givethe relativesthe relativeshis rightand the needyand the wayfarerand the wayfarerand (do) notspendwastefully
17:26
إِنَّٱلْمُبَذِّرِينَكَانُوٓا۟إِخْوَٰنَٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ ۖوَكَانَٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُلِرَبِّهِۦكَفُورًۭا
kafūranlirabbihil-shayṭānuwakānal-shayāṭīniikh'wānakānūl-mubadhirīnainna
Indeedthe spendthriftsarebrothers(of) the devilsAnd isthe Shaitaanto his Lordungrateful
17:27
وَإِمَّاتُعْرِضَنَّعَنْهُمُٱبْتِغَآءَرَحْمَةٍۢمِّنرَّبِّكَتَرْجُوهَافَقُللَّهُمْقَوْلًۭامَّيْسُورًۭا
maysūranqawlanlahumfaqultarjūhārabbikaminraḥmatinib'tighāaʿanhumutuʿ'riḍannawa-immā
And ifyou turn awayfrom themseekingmercyfromyour Lordwhich you expectthen sayto thema wordgentle
17:28
وَلَاتَجْعَلْيَدَكَمَغْلُولَةًإِلَىٰعُنُقِكَوَلَاتَبْسُطْهَاكُلَّٱلْبَسْطِفَتَقْعُدَمَلُومًۭامَّحْسُورًا
maḥsūranmalūmanfataqʿudal-basṭikullatabsuṭ'hāwalāʿunuqikailāmaghlūlatanyadakatajʿalwalā
And (do) notmakeyour handchainedtoyour neckand notextend it(to its) utmostreachso that you sitblameworthyinsolvent
17:29
إِنَّرَبَّكَيَبْسُطُٱلرِّزْقَلِمَنيَشَآءُوَيَقْدِرُ ۚإِنَّهُۥكَانَبِعِبَادِهِۦخَبِيرًۢابَصِيرًۭا
baṣīrankhabīranbiʿibādihikānainnahuwayaqdiruyashāulimanl-riz'qayabsuṭurabbakainna
Indeedyour Lordextendsthe provisionfor whomHe willsand straitensIndeed, Heisof His slavesAll-AwareAll-Seer
17:30
وَلَاتَقْتُلُوٓا۟أَوْلَـٰدَكُمْخَشْيَةَإِمْلَـٰقٍۢ ۖنَّحْنُنَرْزُقُهُمْوَإِيَّاكُمْ ۚإِنَّقَتْلَهُمْكَانَخِطْـًۭٔاكَبِيرًۭا
kabīrankhiṭ'ankānaqatlahuminnawa-iyyākumnarzuquhumnaḥnuim'lāqinkhashyataawlādakumtaqtulūwalā
And (do) notkillyour children(for) fear(of) povertyWe(We) provide for themand for youIndeedtheir killingisa singreat
17:31
وَلَاتَقْرَبُوا۟ٱلزِّنَىٰٓ ۖإِنَّهُۥكَانَفَـٰحِشَةًۭوَسَآءَسَبِيلًۭا
sabīlanwasāafāḥishatankānainnahul-zinātaqrabūwalā
And (do) notgo nearadulteryIndeed, itisan immoralityand (an) evilway
17:32
وَلَاتَقْتُلُوا۟ٱلنَّفْسَٱلَّتِىحَرَّمَٱللَّهُإِلَّابِٱلْحَقِّ ۗوَمَنقُتِلَمَظْلُومًۭافَقَدْجَعَلْنَالِوَلِيِّهِۦسُلْطَـٰنًۭافَلَايُسْرِففِّىٱلْقَتْلِ ۖإِنَّهُۥكَانَمَنصُورًۭا
manṣūrankānainnahul-qatlifīyus'riffalāsul'ṭānanliwaliyyihijaʿalnāfaqadmaẓlūmanqutilawamanbil-ḥaqiillāl-lahuḥarramaallatīl-nafsataqtulūwalā
And (do) notkillthe soulwhichAllah has forbiddenAllah has forbiddenexceptby rightAnd whoever(is) killedwrongfullyverilyWe have madefor his heiran authoritybut nothe should exceedinthe killingIndeed, heishelped
17:33
وَلَاتَقْرَبُوا۟مَالَٱلْيَتِيمِإِلَّابِٱلَّتِىهِىَأَحْسَنُحَتَّىٰيَبْلُغَأَشُدَّهُۥ ۚوَأَوْفُوا۟بِٱلْعَهْدِ ۖإِنَّٱلْعَهْدَكَانَمَسْـُٔولًۭا
masūlankānal-ʿahdainnabil-ʿahdiwa-awfūashuddahuyablughaḥattāaḥsanuhiyabi-allatīillāl-yatīmimālataqrabūwalā
And (do) notcome near(the) wealth(of) the orphanexceptwith what[it] isbestuntilhe reacheshis maturityAnd fulfilthe covenantIndeedthe covenantwill bequestioned
17:34
وَأَوْفُوا۟ٱلْكَيْلَإِذَاكِلْتُمْوَزِنُوا۟بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ ۚذَٰلِكَخَيْرٌۭوَأَحْسَنُتَأْوِيلًۭا
tawīlanwa-aḥsanukhayrundhālikal-mus'taqīmibil-qis'ṭāsiwazinūkil'tumidhāl-kaylawa-awfū
And give full[the] measurewhenyou measureand weighwith the balancethe straightThat(is) goodand best(in) result
17:35
وَلَاتَقْفُمَالَيْسَلَكَبِهِۦعِلْمٌ ۚإِنَّٱلسَّمْعَوَٱلْبَصَرَوَٱلْفُؤَادَكُلُّأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَكَانَعَنْهُمَسْـُٔولًۭا
masūlanʿanhukānaulāikakulluwal-fuādawal-baṣaral-samʿainnaʿil'munbihilakalaysamātaqfuwalā
And (do) notpursuewhatnotyou haveof itany knowledgeIndeedthe hearingand the sightand the heartallthosewill be[about it]questioned
17:36
وَلَاتَمْشِفِىٱلْأَرْضِمَرَحًا ۖإِنَّكَلَنتَخْرِقَٱلْأَرْضَوَلَنتَبْلُغَٱلْجِبَالَطُولًۭا
ṭūlanl-jibālatablughawalanl-arḍatakhriqalaninnakamaraḥanl-arḍifītamshiwalā
And (do) notwalkinthe earth(with) insolenceIndeed, youwill nevertearthe earthand will neverreachthe mountains(in) height
17:37
كُلُّذَٰلِكَكَانَسَيِّئُهُۥعِندَرَبِّكَمَكْرُوهًۭا
makrūhanrabbikaʿindasayyi-uhukānadhālikakullu
Allthatis[its] evilnearyour Lordhateful
17:38
ذَٰلِكَمِمَّآأَوْحَىٰٓإِلَيْكَرَبُّكَمِنَٱلْحِكْمَةِ ۗوَلَاتَجْعَلْمَعَٱللَّهِإِلَـٰهًاءَاخَرَفَتُلْقَىٰفِىجَهَنَّمَمَلُومًۭامَّدْحُورًا
madḥūranmalūmanjahannamafīfatul'qāākharailāhanl-lahimaʿatajʿalwalāl-ḥik'matiminarabbukailaykaawḥāmimmādhālika
That(is) from what(was) revealedto you(from) your Lordofthe wisdomAnd (do) notmakewithAllahgodotherlest you should be throwninHellblameworthyabandoned
17:39
أَفَأَصْفَىٰكُمْرَبُّكُمبِٱلْبَنِينَوَٱتَّخَذَمِنَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِإِنَـٰثًا ۚإِنَّكُمْلَتَقُولُونَقَوْلًاعَظِيمًۭا
ʿaẓīmanqawlanlataqūlūnainnakumināthanl-malāikatiminawa-ittakhadhabil-banīnarabbukumafa-aṣfākum
Then has your Lord chosen (for) youThen has your Lord chosen (for) yousonsand He has takenfromthe AngelsdaughtersIndeed, yousurely saya wordgrave
17:40
وَلَقَدْصَرَّفْنَافِىهَـٰذَاٱلْقُرْءَانِلِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟وَمَايَزِيدُهُمْإِلَّانُفُورًۭا
nufūranillāyazīduhumwamāliyadhakkarūl-qur'ānihādhāfīṣarrafnāwalaqad
And verilyWe have explainedinthisthe Quranthat they may take heedbut notit increases themexcept(in) aversion
17:41
قُللَّوْكَانَمَعَهُۥٓءَالِهَةٌۭكَمَايَقُولُونَإِذًۭالَّٱبْتَغَوْا۟إِلَىٰذِىٱلْعَرْشِسَبِيلًۭا
sabīlanl-ʿarshidhīilāla-ib'taghawidhanyaqūlūnakamāālihatunmaʿahukānalawqul
SayIf(there) werewith Himgodsasthey saythensurely they (would) have soughtto(the) Owner(of) the Thronea way
17:42
سُبْحَـٰنَهُۥوَتَعَـٰلَىٰعَمَّايَقُولُونَعُلُوًّۭاكَبِيرًۭا
kabīranʿuluwwanyaqūlūnaʿammāwataʿālāsub'ḥānahu
Glorified is Heand Exalted is Heabove whatthey say(by) heightgreat
17:43
تُسَبِّحُلَهُٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتُٱلسَّبْعُوَٱلْأَرْضُوَمَنفِيهِنَّ ۚوَإِنمِّنشَىْءٍإِلَّايُسَبِّحُبِحَمْدِهِۦوَلَـٰكِنلَّاتَفْقَهُونَتَسْبِيحَهُمْ ۗإِنَّهُۥكَانَحَلِيمًاغَفُورًۭا
ghafūranḥalīmankānainnahutasbīḥahumtafqahūnalāwalākinbiḥamdihiyusabbiḥuillāshayinminwa-infīhinnawamanwal-arḍul-sabʿul-samāwātulahutusabbiḥu
Glorify[to] Himthe seven heavensthe seven heavensand the earthand whatever(is) in themAnd (there is) notanythingexceptglorifiesHis Praisebutnotyou understandtheir glorificationIndeed, HeisEver-ForbearingOft-Forgiving
17:44
وَإِذَاقَرَأْتَٱلْقُرْءَانَجَعَلْنَابَيْنَكَوَبَيْنَٱلَّذِينَلَايُؤْمِنُونَبِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِحِجَابًۭامَّسْتُورًۭا
mastūranḥijābanbil-ākhiratiyu'minūnalāalladhīnawabaynabaynakajaʿalnāl-qur'ānaqaratawa-idhā
And whenyou recitethe QuranWe placebetween youand betweenthose who(do) notbelievein the Hereaftera barrierhidden
17:45
وَجَعَلْنَاعَلَىٰقُلُوبِهِمْأَكِنَّةًأَنيَفْقَهُوهُوَفِىٓءَاذَانِهِمْوَقْرًۭا ۚوَإِذَاذَكَرْتَرَبَّكَفِىٱلْقُرْءَانِوَحْدَهُۥوَلَّوْا۟عَلَىٰٓأَدْبَـٰرِهِمْنُفُورًۭا
nufūranadbārihimʿalāwallawwaḥdahul-qur'ānifīrabbakadhakartawa-idhāwaqranādhānihimwafīyafqahūhuanakinnatanqulūbihimʿalāwajaʿalnā
And We have placedovertheir heartscoveringslestthey understand itand intheir earsdeafnessAnd whenyou mentionyour Lordinthe QuranAlonethey turnontheir backs(in) aversion
17:46
نَّحْنُأَعْلَمُبِمَايَسْتَمِعُونَبِهِۦٓإِذْيَسْتَمِعُونَإِلَيْكَوَإِذْهُمْنَجْوَىٰٓإِذْيَقُولُٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَإِنتَتَّبِعُونَإِلَّارَجُلًۭامَّسْحُورًا
masḥūranrajulanillātattabiʿūnainl-ẓālimūnayaqūluidhnajwāhumwa-idhilaykayastamiʿūnaidhbihiyastamiʿūnabimāaʿlamunaḥnu
Weknow best[of] whatthey listento [it]whenthey listento youand whenthey(are) in private conversationwhensaythe wrongdoersNotyou followbuta manbewitched
17:47
ٱنظُرْكَيْفَضَرَبُوا۟لَكَٱلْأَمْثَالَفَضَلُّوا۟فَلَايَسْتَطِيعُونَسَبِيلًۭا
sabīlanyastaṭīʿūnafalāfaḍallūl-amthālalakaḍarabūkayfaunẓur
Seehowthey put forthfor youthe examplesbut they have gone astrayso notthey can(find) a way
17:48
وَقَالُوٓا۟أَءِذَاكُنَّاعِظَـٰمًۭاوَرُفَـٰتًاأَءِنَّالَمَبْعُوثُونَخَلْقًۭاجَدِيدًۭا
jadīdankhalqanlamabʿūthūnaa-innāwarufātanʿiẓāmankunnāa-idhāwaqālū
And they sayIs it whenwe arebonesand crumbled particleswill wesurely (be) resurrected(as) a creationnew
17:49
۞ قُلْكُونُوا۟حِجَارَةًأَوْحَدِيدًا
ḥadīdanawḥijāratankūnūqul
SayBestonesoriron
17:50
أَوْخَلْقًۭامِّمَّايَكْبُرُفِىصُدُورِكُمْ ۚفَسَيَقُولُونَمَنيُعِيدُنَا ۖقُلِٱلَّذِىفَطَرَكُمْأَوَّلَمَرَّةٍۢ ۚفَسَيُنْغِضُونَإِلَيْكَرُءُوسَهُمْوَيَقُولُونَمَتَىٰهُوَ ۖقُلْعَسَىٰٓأَنيَكُونَقَرِيبًۭا
qarībanyakūnaanʿasāqulhuwamatāwayaqūlūnaruūsahumilaykafasayun'ghiḍūnamarratinawwalafaṭarakumalladhīquliyuʿīdunāmanfasayaqūlūnaṣudūrikumfīyakburumimmākhalqanaw
Ora creationof what(is) greatinyour breastsThen they will sayWhowill restore usSayHe Whocreated you(the) firsttimeThen they will shakeat youtheir headsand they sayWhen (will)it (be)SayPerhapsthat(it) will besoon
17:51
يَوْمَيَدْعُوكُمْفَتَسْتَجِيبُونَبِحَمْدِهِۦوَتَظُنُّونَإِنلَّبِثْتُمْإِلَّاقَلِيلًۭا
qalīlanillālabith'tuminwataẓunnūnabiḥamdihifatastajībūnayadʿūkumyawma
(On) the DayHe will call youand you will respondwith His Praiseand you will thinknotyou had remainedexcepta little (while)
17:52
وَقُللِّعِبَادِىيَقُولُوا۟ٱلَّتِىهِىَأَحْسَنُ ۚإِنَّٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَيَنزَغُبَيْنَهُمْ ۚإِنَّٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَكَانَلِلْإِنسَـٰنِعَدُوًّۭامُّبِينًۭا
mubīnanʿaduwwanlil'insānikānal-shayṭānainnabaynahumyanzaghul-shayṭānainnaaḥsanuhiyaallatīyaqūlūliʿibādīwaqul
And sayto My slaves(to) saythatwhich(is) bestIndeedthe Shaitaansows discordbetween themIndeedthe Shaitaanisto the manan enemyclear
17:53
رَّبُّكُمْأَعْلَمُبِكُمْ ۖإِنيَشَأْيَرْحَمْكُمْأَوْإِنيَشَأْيُعَذِّبْكُمْ ۚوَمَآأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَعَلَيْهِمْوَكِيلًۭا
wakīlanʿalayhimarsalnākawamāyuʿadhib'kumyashainawyarḥamkumyashainbikumaʿlamurabbukum
Your Lord(is) most knowingof youIfHe willsHe will have mercy on youorifHe willsHe will punish youAnd notWe have sent youover them(as) a guardian
17:54
وَرَبُّكَأَعْلَمُبِمَنفِىٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۗوَلَقَدْفَضَّلْنَابَعْضَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَعَلَىٰبَعْضٍۢ ۖوَءَاتَيْنَادَاوُۥدَزَبُورًۭا
zabūrandāwūdawaātaynābaʿḍinʿalāl-nabiyīnabaʿḍafaḍḍalnāwalaqadwal-arḍil-samāwātifībimanaʿlamuwarabbuka
And your Lord(is) most knowingof whoever(is) inthe heavensand the earthAnd verilyWe have preferredsome(of) the ProphetstoothersAnd We gaveDawoodZaboor
17:55
قُلِٱدْعُوا۟ٱلَّذِينَزَعَمْتُممِّندُونِهِۦفَلَايَمْلِكُونَكَشْفَٱلضُّرِّعَنكُمْوَلَاتَحْوِيلًا
taḥwīlanwalāʿankuml-ḍurikashfayamlikūnafalādūnihiminzaʿamtumalladhīnaid'ʿūquli
SayCallthose whomyou claimedbesides Himbesides Him[then] notthey have power(to) removethe misfortunesfrom youand not(to) transfer (it)
17:56
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَٱلَّذِينَيَدْعُونَيَبْتَغُونَإِلَىٰرَبِّهِمُٱلْوَسِيلَةَأَيُّهُمْأَقْرَبُوَيَرْجُونَرَحْمَتَهُۥوَيَخَافُونَعَذَابَهُۥٓ ۚإِنَّعَذَابَرَبِّكَكَانَمَحْذُورًۭا
maḥdhūrankānarabbikaʿadhābainnaʿadhābahuwayakhāfūnaraḥmatahuwayarjūnaaqrabuayyuhuml-wasīlatarabbihimuilāyabtaghūnayadʿūnaalladhīnaulāika
Thosewhomthey callseektotheir Lordthe means of accesswhich of them(is) nearestand they hope(for) His mercyand fearHis punishmentIndeed(the) punishment(of) your Lordis(ever) feared
17:57
وَإِنمِّنقَرْيَةٍإِلَّانَحْنُمُهْلِكُوهَاقَبْلَيَوْمِٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِأَوْمُعَذِّبُوهَاعَذَابًۭاشَدِيدًۭا ۚكَانَذَٰلِكَفِىٱلْكِتَـٰبِمَسْطُورًۭا
masṭūranl-kitābifīdhālikakānashadīdanʿadhābanmuʿadhibūhāawl-qiyāmatiyawmiqablamuh'likūhānaḥnuillāqaryatinminwa-in
And not(is) anytownbutWe(will) destroy itbefore(the) Day(of) the Resurrectionorpunish itwith a punishmentsevereThat isThat isinthe Bookwritten
17:58
وَمَامَنَعَنَآأَننُّرْسِلَبِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِإِلَّآأَنكَذَّبَبِهَاٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ۚوَءَاتَيْنَاثَمُودَٱلنَّاقَةَمُبْصِرَةًۭفَظَلَمُوا۟بِهَا ۚوَمَانُرْسِلُبِٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِإِلَّاتَخْوِيفًۭا
takhwīfanillābil-āyātinur'siluwamābihāfaẓalamūmub'ṣiratanl-nāqatathamūdawaātaynāl-awalūnabihākadhabaanillābil-āyātinur'silaanmanaʿanāwamā
And notstopped UsthatWe sendthe Signsexceptthatdeniedthemthe former (people)And We gaveThamudthe she-camel(as) a visible signbut they wrongedherAnd notWe sendthe Signsexcept(as) a warning
17:59
وَإِذْقُلْنَالَكَإِنَّرَبَّكَأَحَاطَبِٱلنَّاسِ ۚوَمَاجَعَلْنَاٱلرُّءْيَاٱلَّتِىٓأَرَيْنَـٰكَإِلَّافِتْنَةًۭلِّلنَّاسِوَٱلشَّجَرَةَٱلْمَلْعُونَةَفِىٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚوَنُخَوِّفُهُمْفَمَايَزِيدُهُمْإِلَّاطُغْيَـٰنًۭاكَبِيرًۭا
kabīranṭugh'yānanillāyazīduhumfamāwanukhawwifuhuml-qur'ānifīl-malʿūnatawal-shajaratalilnnāsifit'natanillāaraynākaallatīl-ru'yājaʿalnāwamābil-nāsiaḥāṭarabbakainnalakaqul'nāwa-idh
And whenWe saidto youIndeedyour Lordhas encompassedthe mankindAnd notWe madethe visionwhichWe showed youexcept(as) a trialfor mankindand the treethe accursedinthe QuranAnd We threaten thembut notit increases themexcept(in) transgressiongreat
17:60
وَإِذْقُلْنَالِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِٱسْجُدُوا۟لِـَٔادَمَفَسَجَدُوٓا۟إِلَّآإِبْلِيسَقَالَءَأَسْجُدُلِمَنْخَلَقْتَطِينًۭا
ṭīnankhalaqtalimana-asjuduqālaib'līsaillāfasajadūliādamaus'judūlil'malāikatiqul'nāwa-idh
And whenWe saidto the AngelsProstrateto AdamSo they prostratedexceptIblisHe saidShall I prostrateto (one) whomYou created(from) clay
17:61
قَالَأَرَءَيْتَكَهَـٰذَاٱلَّذِىكَرَّمْتَعَلَىَّلَئِنْأَخَّرْتَنِإِلَىٰيَوْمِٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِلَأَحْتَنِكَنَّذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓإِلَّاقَلِيلًۭا
qalīlanillādhurriyyatahula-aḥtanikannal-qiyāmatiyawmiilāakhartanila-inʿalayyakarramtaalladhīhādhāara-aytakaqāla
He saidDo You seethiswhomYou have honoredabove meIfYou give me respitetill(the) Day(of) the ResurrectionI will surely destroyhis offspringexcepta few
17:62
قَالَٱذْهَبْفَمَنتَبِعَكَمِنْهُمْفَإِنَّجَهَنَّمَجَزَآؤُكُمْجَزَآءًۭمَّوْفُورًۭا
mawfūranjazāanjazāukumjahannamafa-innamin'humtabiʿakafamanidh'habqāla
He saidGoand whoeverfollows youamong themthen indeedHell(is) your recompense a recompenseample
17:63
وَٱسْتَفْزِزْمَنِٱسْتَطَعْتَمِنْهُمبِصَوْتِكَوَأَجْلِبْعَلَيْهِمبِخَيْلِكَوَرَجِلِكَوَشَارِكْهُمْفِىٱلْأَمْوَٰلِوَٱلْأَوْلَـٰدِوَعِدْهُمْ ۚوَمَايَعِدُهُمُٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُإِلَّاغُرُورًا
ghurūranillāl-shayṭānuyaʿiduhumuwamāwaʿid'humwal-awlādil-amwālifīwashārik'humwarajilikabikhaylikaʿalayhimwa-ajlibbiṣawtikamin'humis'taṭaʿtamaniwa-is'tafziz
And incitewhoeveryou canamong themwith your voiceand assault[on] themwith your cavalryand infantryand be a partnerinthe wealthand the childrenand promise themAnd notpromises themthe Shaitaanexceptdelusion
17:64
إِنَّعِبَادِىلَيْسَلَكَعَلَيْهِمْسُلْطَـٰنٌۭ ۚوَكَفَىٰبِرَبِّكَوَكِيلًۭا
wakīlanbirabbikawakafāsul'ṭānunʿalayhimlakalaysaʿibādīinna
IndeedMy slavesnotfor youover themany authorityAnd sufficient(is) your Lord(as) a Guardian
17:65
رَّبُّكُمُٱلَّذِىيُزْجِىلَكُمُٱلْفُلْكَفِىٱلْبَحْرِلِتَبْتَغُوا۟مِنفَضْلِهِۦٓ ۚإِنَّهُۥكَانَبِكُمْرَحِيمًۭا
raḥīmanbikumkānainnahufaḍlihiminlitabtaghūl-baḥrifīl-ful'kalakumuyuz'jīalladhīrabbukumu
Your Lord(is) the One Whodrivesfor youthe shipinthe seathat you may seekofHis BountyIndeed, Heisto youEver Merciful
17:66
وَإِذَامَسَّكُمُٱلضُّرُّفِىٱلْبَحْرِضَلَّمَنتَدْعُونَإِلَّآإِيَّاهُ ۖفَلَمَّانَجَّىٰكُمْإِلَىٱلْبَرِّأَعْرَضْتُمْ ۚوَكَانَٱلْإِنسَـٰنُكَفُورًا
kafūranl-insānuwakānaaʿraḍtuml-bariilānajjākumfalammāiyyāhuillātadʿūnamanḍallal-baḥrifīl-ḍurumassakumuwa-idhā
And whentouches youthe hardshipinthe sealost(are) whoyou callexceptHim AloneBut whenHe delivers youtothe landyou turn awayAnd ismanungrateful
17:67
أَفَأَمِنتُمْأَنيَخْسِفَبِكُمْجَانِبَٱلْبَرِّأَوْيُرْسِلَعَلَيْكُمْحَاصِبًۭاثُمَّلَاتَجِدُوا۟لَكُمْوَكِيلًا
wakīlanlakumtajidūlāthummaḥāṣibanʿalaykumyur'silaawl-barijānibabikumyakhsifaanafa-amintum
Do you then feel securethat (not)He will cause to swallowyouside(of) the landorsendagainst youa storm of stonesThennotyou will findfor youa guardian
17:68
أَمْأَمِنتُمْأَنيُعِيدَكُمْفِيهِتَارَةًأُخْرَىٰفَيُرْسِلَعَلَيْكُمْقَاصِفًۭامِّنَٱلرِّيحِفَيُغْرِقَكُمبِمَاكَفَرْتُمْ ۙثُمَّلَاتَجِدُوا۟لَكُمْعَلَيْنَابِهِۦتَبِيعًۭا
tabīʿanbihiʿalaynālakumtajidūlāthummakafartumbimāfayugh'riqakuml-rīḥiminaqāṣifanʿalaykumfayur'silaukh'rātāratanfīhiyuʿīdakumanamintumam
Ordo you feel securethat (not)He will send you backinto itanother timeanother timeand sendupon youa hurricaneofthe windand drown youbecauseyou disbelievedThennotyou will findfor youagainst Usthereinan avenger
17:69
۞ وَلَقَدْكَرَّمْنَابَنِىٓءَادَمَوَحَمَلْنَـٰهُمْفِىٱلْبَرِّوَٱلْبَحْرِوَرَزَقْنَـٰهُممِّنَٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِوَفَضَّلْنَـٰهُمْعَلَىٰكَثِيرٍۢمِّمَّنْخَلَقْنَاتَفْضِيلًۭا
tafḍīlankhalaqnāmimmankathīrinʿalāwafaḍḍalnāhuml-ṭayibātiminawarazaqnāhumwal-baḥril-barifīwaḥamalnāhumādamabanīkarramnāwalaqad
And certainlyWe have honored(the) children of Adam(the) children of Adamand We carried themonthe landand the seaand We have provided themofthe good thingsand We preferred themovermanyof those whomWe have created(with) preference
17:70
يَوْمَنَدْعُوا۟كُلَّأُنَاسٍۭبِإِمَـٰمِهِمْ ۖفَمَنْأُوتِىَكِتَـٰبَهُۥبِيَمِينِهِۦفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَيَقْرَءُونَكِتَـٰبَهُمْوَلَايُظْلَمُونَفَتِيلًۭا
fatīlanyuẓ'lamūnawalākitābahumyaqraūnafa-ulāikabiyamīnihikitābahuūtiyafamanbi-imāmihimunāsinkullanadʿūyawma
(The) DayWe will callallhuman beingswith their recordthen whoeveris givenhis recordin his right handthen thosewill readtheir recordsand notthey will be wronged(even as much as) a hair on a date seed
17:71
وَمَنكَانَفِىهَـٰذِهِۦٓأَعْمَىٰفَهُوَفِىٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِأَعْمَىٰوَأَضَلُّسَبِيلًۭا
sabīlanwa-aḍalluaʿmāl-ākhiratifīfahuwaaʿmāhādhihifīkānawaman
And whoeverisinthis (world)blindthen heinthe Hereafter(will be) blindand more astray(from the) path
17:72
وَإِنكَادُوا۟لَيَفْتِنُونَكَعَنِٱلَّذِىٓأَوْحَيْنَآإِلَيْكَلِتَفْتَرِىَعَلَيْنَاغَيْرَهُۥ ۖوَإِذًۭالَّٱتَّخَذُوكَخَلِيلًۭا
khalīlanla-ittakhadhūkawa-idhanghayrahuʿalaynālitaftariyailaykaawḥaynāalladhīʿanilayaftinūnakakādūwa-in
And indeedthey were about (to)tempt you awayfromthat whichWe revealedto youthat you inventabout Usother (than) itAnd thensurely they would take you(as) a friend
17:73
وَلَوْلَآأَنثَبَّتْنَـٰكَلَقَدْكِدتَّتَرْكَنُإِلَيْهِمْشَيْـًۭٔاقَلِيلًا
qalīlanshayanilayhimtarkanukidttalaqadthabbatnākaanwalawlā
And if not[that]We (had) strengthened youcertainlyyou almost(would) have inclinedto them(in) somethinga little
17:74
إِذًۭالَّأَذَقْنَـٰكَضِعْفَٱلْحَيَوٰةِوَضِعْفَٱلْمَمَاتِثُمَّلَاتَجِدُلَكَعَلَيْنَانَصِيرًۭا
naṣīranʿalaynālakatajidulāthummal-mamātiwaḍiʿ'fal-ḥayatiḍiʿ'fala-adhaqnākaidhan
ThenWe (would) have made you tastedouble(in) the lifeand double(after) the deathThennotyou (would) have foundfor youagainst Usany helper
17:75
وَإِنكَادُوا۟لَيَسْتَفِزُّونَكَمِنَٱلْأَرْضِلِيُخْرِجُوكَمِنْهَا ۖوَإِذًۭالَّايَلْبَثُونَخِلَـٰفَكَإِلَّاقَلِيلًۭا
qalīlanillākhilāfakayalbathūnalāwa-idhanmin'hāliyukh'rijūkal-arḍiminalayastafizzūnakakādūwa-in
And indeedthey were about(to) scare youfromthe landthat they evict youfrom itBut thennotthey (would) have stayedafter youexcepta little
17:76
سُنَّةَمَنقَدْأَرْسَلْنَاقَبْلَكَمِنرُّسُلِنَا ۖوَلَاتَجِدُلِسُنَّتِنَاتَحْوِيلًا
taḥwīlanlisunnatinātajiduwalārusulināminqablakaarsalnāqadmansunnata
(Such is Our) Way(for) whom[verily]We sentbefore youofOur MessengersAnd notyou will find(in) Our wayany alteration
17:77
أَقِمِٱلصَّلَوٰةَلِدُلُوكِٱلشَّمْسِإِلَىٰغَسَقِٱلَّيْلِوَقُرْءَانَٱلْفَجْرِ ۖإِنَّقُرْءَانَٱلْفَجْرِكَانَمَشْهُودًۭا
mashhūdankānal-fajriqur'ānainnal-fajriwaqur'ānaal-laylighasaqiilāl-shamsilidulūkil-ṣalataaqimi
Establishthe prayerat the decline(of) the suntill(the) darkness(of) the nightand Quranat dawnindeedthe Quran(at) the dawnisever witnessed
17:78
وَمِنَٱلَّيْلِفَتَهَجَّدْبِهِۦنَافِلَةًۭلَّكَعَسَىٰٓأَنيَبْعَثَكَرَبُّكَمَقَامًۭامَّحْمُودًۭا
maḥmūdanmaqāmanrabbukayabʿathakaanʿasālakanāfilatanbihifatahajjadal-layliwamina
And fromthe nightarise from sleep for prayerwith it(as) additionalfor youit may bethatwill raise youyour Lord(to) a stationpraiseworthy
17:79
وَقُلرَّبِّأَدْخِلْنِىمُدْخَلَصِدْقٍۢوَأَخْرِجْنِىمُخْرَجَصِدْقٍۢوَٱجْعَللِّىمِنلَّدُنكَسُلْطَـٰنًۭانَّصِيرًۭا
naṣīransul'ṭānanladunkaminlīwa-ij'ʿalṣid'qinmukh'rajawa-akhrij'nīṣid'qinmud'khalaadkhil'nīrabbiwaqul
And sayMy LordCause me to enteran entrancesoundand cause me to exitan exitsoundand makefor mefromnear Youan authorityhelping
17:80
وَقُلْجَآءَٱلْحَقُّوَزَهَقَٱلْبَـٰطِلُ ۚإِنَّٱلْبَـٰطِلَكَانَزَهُوقًۭا
zahūqankānal-bāṭilainnal-bāṭiluwazahaqal-ḥaqujāawaqul
And sayHas comethe truthand perishedthe falsehoodIndeedthe falsehoodis(bound) to perish
17:81
وَنُنَزِّلُمِنَٱلْقُرْءَانِمَاهُوَشِفَآءٌۭوَرَحْمَةٌۭلِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙوَلَايَزِيدُٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَإِلَّاخَسَارًۭا
khasāranillāl-ẓālimīnayazīduwalālil'mu'minīnawaraḥmatunshifāonhuwamāl-qur'āniminawanunazzilu
And We revealfromthe Quranthatit(is) a healingand a mercyfor the believersbut notit increasesthe wrongdoersexcept(in) loss
17:82
وَإِذَآأَنْعَمْنَاعَلَىٱلْإِنسَـٰنِأَعْرَضَوَنَـَٔابِجَانِبِهِۦ ۖوَإِذَامَسَّهُٱلشَّرُّكَانَيَـُٔوسًۭا
yaūsankānal-sharumassahuwa-idhābijānibihiwanaāaʿraḍal-insāniʿalāanʿamnāwa-idhā
And whenWe bestow favoronmanhe turns awayand becomes remoteon his sideAnd whentouches himthe evilhe is(in) despair
17:83
قُلْكُلٌّۭيَعْمَلُعَلَىٰشَاكِلَتِهِۦفَرَبُّكُمْأَعْلَمُبِمَنْهُوَأَهْدَىٰسَبِيلًۭا
sabīlanahdāhuwabimanaʿlamufarabbukumshākilatihiʿalāyaʿmalukullunqul
SayEachworksonhis mannerbut your Lord(is) most knowingof who[he](is) best guided(in) way
17:84
وَيَسْـَٔلُونَكَعَنِٱلرُّوحِ ۖقُلِٱلرُّوحُمِنْأَمْرِرَبِّىوَمَآأُوتِيتُممِّنَٱلْعِلْمِإِلَّاقَلِيلًۭا
qalīlanillāl-ʿil'miminaūtītumwamārabbīamriminl-rūḥuqulil-rūḥiʿaniwayasalūnaka
And they ask youconcerningthe soulSayThe soul(is) of(the) affair(of) my LordAnd notyou have been givenofthe knowledgeexcepta little
17:85
وَلَئِنشِئْنَالَنَذْهَبَنَّبِٱلَّذِىٓأَوْحَيْنَآإِلَيْكَثُمَّلَاتَجِدُلَكَبِهِۦعَلَيْنَاوَكِيلًا
wakīlanʿalaynābihilakatajidulāthummailaykaawḥaynābi-alladhīlanadhhabannashi'nāwala-in
And ifWe willedWe (would) have surely taken awaythat whichWe have revealedto youThennotyou would findfor youconcerning itagainst Usany advocate
17:86
إِلَّارَحْمَةًۭمِّنرَّبِّكَ ۚإِنَّفَضْلَهُۥكَانَعَلَيْكَكَبِيرًۭا
kabīranʿalaykakānafaḍlahuinnarabbikaminraḥmatanillā
Excepta mercyfromyour LordIndeedHis Bountyisupon yougreat
17:87
قُللَّئِنِٱجْتَمَعَتِٱلْإِنسُوَٱلْجِنُّعَلَىٰٓأَنيَأْتُوا۟بِمِثْلِهَـٰذَاٱلْقُرْءَانِلَايَأْتُونَبِمِثْلِهِۦوَلَوْكَانَبَعْضُهُمْلِبَعْضٍۢظَهِيرًۭا
ẓahīranlibaʿḍinbaʿḍuhumkānawalawbimith'lihiyatūnalāl-qur'ānihādhābimith'liyatūanʿalāwal-jinul-insuij'tamaʿatila-iniqul
SayIfgatheredthe mankindand the jinnto[that]bringthe like(of) thisQurannotthey (could) bringthe like of iteven ifweresome of themto some othersassistants
17:88
وَلَقَدْصَرَّفْنَالِلنَّاسِفِىهَـٰذَاٱلْقُرْءَانِمِنكُلِّمَثَلٍۢفَأَبَىٰٓأَكْثَرُٱلنَّاسِإِلَّاكُفُورًۭا
kufūranillāl-nāsiaktharufa-abāmathalinkulliminl-qur'ānihādhāfīlilnnāsiṣarrafnāwalaqad
And verilyWe have explainedto mankindinthisQuranfromeveryexamplebut refusedmost(of) the mankindexceptdisbelief
17:89
وَقَالُوا۟لَننُّؤْمِنَلَكَحَتَّىٰتَفْجُرَلَنَامِنَٱلْأَرْضِيَنۢبُوعًا
yanbūʿanl-arḍiminalanātafjuraḥattālakanu'minalanwaqālū
And they sayNeverwe will believein youuntilyou cause to gush forthfor usfromthe eartha spring
17:90
أَوْتَكُونَلَكَجَنَّةٌۭمِّننَّخِيلٍۢوَعِنَبٍۢفَتُفَجِّرَٱلْأَنْهَـٰرَخِلَـٰلَهَاتَفْجِيرًا
tafjīrankhilālahāl-anhārafatufajjirawaʿinabinnakhīlinminjannatunlakatakūnaaw
Oryou havefor youa gardenofdate-palmsand grapesand cause to gush forththe riverswithin themabundantly
17:91
أَوْتُسْقِطَٱلسَّمَآءَكَمَازَعَمْتَعَلَيْنَاكِسَفًاأَوْتَأْتِىَبِٱللَّهِوَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِقَبِيلًا
qabīlanwal-malāikatibil-lahitatiyaawkisafanʿalaynāzaʿamtakamāl-samāatus'qiṭaaw
Oryou cause to fallthe skyasyou have claimedupon us(in) piecesoryou bringAllahand the Angelsbefore (us)
17:92
أَوْيَكُونَلَكَبَيْتٌۭمِّنزُخْرُفٍأَوْتَرْقَىٰفِىٱلسَّمَآءِوَلَننُّؤْمِنَلِرُقِيِّكَحَتَّىٰتُنَزِّلَعَلَيْنَاكِتَـٰبًۭانَّقْرَؤُهُۥ ۗقُلْسُبْحَانَرَبِّىهَلْكُنتُإِلَّابَشَرًۭارَّسُولًۭا
rasūlanbasharanillākuntuhalrabbīsub'ḥānaqulnaqra-uhukitābanʿalaynātunazzilaḥattāliruqiyyikanu'minawalanl-samāifītarqāawzukh'rufinminbaytunlakayakūnaaw
Orisfor youa houseofornamentoryou ascendintothe skyAnd neverwe will believein your ascensionuntilyou bring downto usa bookwe could read itSayGlorified (is)my LordWhatam Ibuta humana Messenger
17:93
وَمَامَنَعَٱلنَّاسَأَنيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟إِذْجَآءَهُمُٱلْهُدَىٰٓإِلَّآأَنقَالُوٓا۟أَبَعَثَٱللَّهُبَشَرًۭارَّسُولًۭا
rasūlanbasharanl-lahuabaʿathaqālūanillāl-hudājāahumuidhyu'minūanl-nāsamanaʿawamā
And whatpreventedthe peoplethatthey believewhencame to themthe guidanceexceptthatthey saidHas Allah sentHas Allah senta humanMessenger
17:94
قُللَّوْكَانَفِىٱلْأَرْضِمَلَـٰٓئِكَةٌۭيَمْشُونَمُطْمَئِنِّينَلَنَزَّلْنَاعَلَيْهِممِّنَٱلسَّمَآءِمَلَكًۭارَّسُولًۭا
rasūlanmalakanl-samāiminaʿalayhimlanazzalnāmuṭ'ma-innīnayamshūnamalāikatunl-arḍifīkānalawqul
SayIf(there) wereinthe earthAngelswalkingsecurelysurely We (would) have sent downto themfromthe heavenan Angel(as) a Messenger
17:95
قُلْكَفَىٰبِٱللَّهِشَهِيدًۢابَيْنِىوَبَيْنَكُمْ ۚإِنَّهُۥكَانَبِعِبَادِهِۦخَبِيرًۢابَصِيرًۭا
baṣīrankhabīranbiʿibādihikānainnahuwabaynakumbaynīshahīdanbil-lahikafāqul
SaySufficient isAllah(as) a witnessbetween meand between youIndeed, Heisof His slavesAll-AwareAll-Seer
17:96
وَمَنيَهْدِٱللَّهُفَهُوَٱلْمُهْتَدِ ۖوَمَنيُضْلِلْفَلَنتَجِدَلَهُمْأَوْلِيَآءَمِندُونِهِۦ ۖوَنَحْشُرُهُمْيَوْمَٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِعَلَىٰوُجُوهِهِمْعُمْيًۭاوَبُكْمًۭاوَصُمًّۭا ۖمَّأْوَىٰهُمْجَهَنَّمُ ۖكُلَّمَاخَبَتْزِدْنَـٰهُمْسَعِيرًۭا
saʿīranzid'nāhumkhabatkullamājahannamumawāhumwaṣummanwabuk'manʿum'yanwujūhihimʿalāl-qiyāmatiyawmawanaḥshuruhumdūnihiminawliyāalahumtajidafalanyuḍ'lilwamanl-muh'tadifahuwal-lahuyahdiwaman
And whoeverAllah guidesAllah guidesthen he (is)the guided oneand whoeverHe lets go astray then neveryou will findfor themprotectorsbesides Himbesides HimAnd We will gather them(on) the Day(of) the Resurrectionontheir faces blindand dumband deafTheir abode(is) Hellevery timeit subsidesWe (will) increase (for) themthe blazing fire
17:97
ذَٰلِكَجَزَآؤُهُمبِأَنَّهُمْكَفَرُوا۟بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَاوَقَالُوٓا۟أَءِذَاكُنَّاعِظَـٰمًۭاوَرُفَـٰتًاأَءِنَّالَمَبْعُوثُونَخَلْقًۭاجَدِيدًا
jadīdankhalqanlamabʿūthūnaa-innāwarufātanʿiẓāmankunnāa-idhāwaqālūbiāyātinākafarūbi-annahumjazāuhumdhālika
That(is) their recompensebecause theydisbelievedin Our Versesand saidWhenwe arebonesand crumbled particleswill wesurely (be) resurrected(as) a creationnew
17:98
۞ أَوَلَمْيَرَوْا۟أَنَّٱللَّهَٱلَّذِىخَلَقَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضَقَادِرٌعَلَىٰٓأَنيَخْلُقَمِثْلَهُمْوَجَعَلَلَهُمْأَجَلًۭالَّارَيْبَفِيهِفَأَبَىٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَإِلَّاكُفُورًۭا
kufūranillāl-ẓālimūnafa-abāfīhiraybalāajalanlahumwajaʿalamith'lahumyakhluqaanʿalāqādirunwal-arḍal-samāwātikhalaqaalladhīl-lahaannayarawawalam
Do notthey seethatAllahthe One Whocreatedthe heavensand the earth(is) Able[on]tocreatethe like of themAnd He has madefor thema termnodoubtin itBut refusedthe wrongdoersexceptdisbelief
17:99
قُللَّوْأَنتُمْتَمْلِكُونَخَزَآئِنَرَحْمَةِرَبِّىٓإِذًۭالَّأَمْسَكْتُمْخَشْيَةَٱلْإِنفَاقِ ۚوَكَانَٱلْإِنسَـٰنُقَتُورًۭا
qatūranl-insānuwakānal-infāqikhashyatala-amsaktumidhanrabbīraḥmatikhazāinatamlikūnaantumlawqul
SayIfyoupossessthe treasures(of) the Mercy(of) my Lordthensurely you would withhold(out of) fear(of) spendingAnd ismanstingy
17:100
وَلَقَدْءَاتَيْنَامُوسَىٰتِسْعَءَايَـٰتٍۭبَيِّنَـٰتٍۢ ۖفَسْـَٔلْبَنِىٓإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَإِذْجَآءَهُمْفَقَالَلَهُۥفِرْعَوْنُإِنِّىلَأَظُنُّكَيَـٰمُوسَىٰمَسْحُورًۭا
masḥūranyāmūsāla-aẓunnukainnīfir'ʿawnulahufaqālajāahumidhis'rāīlabanīfasalbayyinātināyātintis'ʿamūsāātaynāwalaqad
And certainlyWe had givenMusanineSignsclearso ask(the) Children of Israel(the) Children of Israelwhenhe came to themthen saidto himFiraunIndeed, I[I] think you O Musa(you are) bewitched
17:101
قَالَلَقَدْعَلِمْتَمَآأَنزَلَهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِإِلَّارَبُّٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضِبَصَآئِرَوَإِنِّىلَأَظُنُّكَيَـٰفِرْعَوْنُمَثْبُورًۭا
mathbūranyāfir'ʿawnula-aẓunnukawa-innībaṣāirawal-arḍil-samāwātirabbuillāhāulāianzalamāʿalim'talaqadqāla
He saidVerilyyou have knownnonehas sent downtheseexcept(the) Lord(of) the heavensand the earth(as) evidenceand indeed, I[I] surely think youO Firaun(you are) destroyed
17:102
فَأَرَادَأَنيَسْتَفِزَّهُممِّنَٱلْأَرْضِفَأَغْرَقْنَـٰهُوَمَنمَّعَهُۥجَمِيعًۭا
jamīʿanmaʿahuwamanfa-aghraqnāhul-arḍiminayastafizzahumanfa-arāda
So he intendedtodrive them outfromthe landbut We drowned himand who(were) with himall
17:103
وَقُلْنَامِنۢبَعْدِهِۦلِبَنِىٓإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَٱسْكُنُوا۟ٱلْأَرْضَفَإِذَاجَآءَوَعْدُٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِجِئْنَابِكُمْلَفِيفًۭا
lafīfanbikumji'nāl-ākhiratiwaʿdujāafa-idhāl-arḍaus'kunūis'rāīlalibanībaʿdihiminwaqul'nā
And We saidafter himafter himto the Children of Israelto the Children of IsraelDwell(in) the landthen whencomes(the) promise(of) the HereafterWe will bringyou(as) a mixed crowd
17:104
وَبِٱلْحَقِّأَنزَلْنَـٰهُوَبِٱلْحَقِّنَزَلَ ۗوَمَآأَرْسَلْنَـٰكَإِلَّامُبَشِّرًۭاوَنَذِيرًۭا
wanadhīranmubashiranillāarsalnākawamānazalawabil-ḥaqianzalnāhuwabil-ḥaqi
And with the truthWe sent it downand with the truthit descendedAnd notWe sent youexcept(as) a bearer of glad tidingsand a warner
17:105
وَقُرْءَانًۭافَرَقْنَـٰهُلِتَقْرَأَهُۥعَلَىٱلنَّاسِعَلَىٰمُكْثٍۢوَنَزَّلْنَـٰهُتَنزِيلًۭا
tanzīlanwanazzalnāhumuk'thinʿalāl-nāsiʿalālitaqra-ahufaraqnāhuwaqur'ānan
And the QuranWe have dividedthat you might recite ittothe peopleatintervalsAnd We have revealed it(in) stages
17:106
قُلْءَامِنُوا۟بِهِۦٓأَوْلَاتُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ ۚإِنَّٱلَّذِينَأُوتُوا۟ٱلْعِلْمَمِنقَبْلِهِۦٓإِذَايُتْلَىٰعَلَيْهِمْيَخِرُّونَلِلْأَذْقَانِسُجَّدًۭا
sujjadanlil'adhqāniyakhirrūnaʿalayhimyut'lāidhāqablihiminl-ʿil'maūtūalladhīnainnatu'minūlāawbihiāminūqul
SayBelievein itor(do) notbelieveIndeedthose whowere giventhe knowledgebefore itbefore itwhenit is recitedto themthey fallon their faces(in) prostration
17:107
وَيَقُولُونَسُبْحَـٰنَرَبِّنَآإِنكَانَوَعْدُرَبِّنَالَمَفْعُولًۭا
lamafʿūlanrabbināwaʿdukānainrabbināsub'ḥānawayaqūlūna
And they sayGlory be toour LordIndeedis(the) promise(of) our Lordsurely fulfilled
17:108
وَيَخِرُّونَلِلْأَذْقَانِيَبْكُونَوَيَزِيدُهُمْخُشُوعًۭا ۩
khushūʿanwayazīduhumyabkūnalil'adhqāniwayakhirrūna
And they fallon their facesweepingand it increases them(in) humility
17:109
قُلِٱدْعُوا۟ٱللَّهَأَوِٱدْعُوا۟ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ ۖأَيًّۭامَّاتَدْعُوا۟فَلَهُٱلْأَسْمَآءُٱلْحُسْنَىٰ ۚوَلَاتَجْهَرْبِصَلَاتِكَوَلَاتُخَافِتْبِهَاوَٱبْتَغِبَيْنَذَٰلِكَسَبِيلًۭا
sabīlandhālikabaynawa-ib'taghibihātukhāfitwalābiṣalātikatajharwalāl-ḥus'nāl-asmāufalahutadʿūmāayyanl-raḥmānaid'ʿūawil-lahaid'ʿūquli
SayInvokeAllahorinvokethe Most GraciousBy whatever (name)By whatever (name)you invoketo Him (belongs)the Most Beautiful Namesthe Most Beautiful NamesAnd (do) notbe loudin your prayersand notbe silentthereinbut seekbetweenthata way
17:110
وَقُلِٱلْحَمْدُلِلَّهِٱلَّذِىلَمْيَتَّخِذْوَلَدًۭاوَلَمْيَكُنلَّهُۥشَرِيكٌۭفِىٱلْمُلْكِوَلَمْيَكُنلَّهُۥوَلِىٌّۭمِّنَٱلذُّلِّ ۖوَكَبِّرْهُتَكْبِيرًۢا
takbīranwakabbir'hul-dhuliminawaliyyunlahuyakunwalaml-mul'kifīsharīkunlahuyakunwalamwaladanyattakhidhlamalladhīlillahil-ḥamduwaquli
And sayAll Praise(is) for Allahthe One Whohas not takenhas not takena sonand notisfor Hima partnerinthe dominionand notisfor Himany protectorout ofweaknessAnd magnify Him(with all) magnificence
17:111
Basmala
ٱلْحَمْدُلِلَّهِٱلَّذِىٓأَنزَلَعَلَىٰعَبْدِهِٱلْكِتَـٰبَوَلَمْيَجْعَللَّهُۥعِوَجَاۜ
ʿiwajālahuyajʿalwalaml-kitābaʿabdihiʿalāanzalaalladhīlillahial-ḥamdu
All Praise(is) for Allahthe One Who(has) revealedtoHis slavethe Bookand not(has) madein itany crookedness
18:1
قَيِّمًۭالِّيُنذِرَبَأْسًۭاشَدِيدًۭامِّنلَّدُنْهُوَيُبَشِّرَٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَٱلَّذِينَيَعْمَلُونَٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِأَنَّلَهُمْأَجْرًاحَسَنًۭا
ḥasananajranlahumannal-ṣāliḥātiyaʿmalūnaalladhīnal-mu'minīnawayubashiraladun'huminshadīdanbasanliyundhiraqayyiman
Straightto warn(of) a punishmentseverefromnear Himand give glad tidings(to) the believersthose whodorighteous deedsthatfor them(is) a good reward(is) a good reward
18:2
مَّـٰكِثِينَفِيهِأَبَدًۭا
abadanfīhimākithīna
(They will) abidein itforever
18:3
وَيُنذِرَٱلَّذِينَقَالُوا۟ٱتَّخَذَٱللَّهُوَلَدًۭا
waladanl-lahuittakhadhaqālūalladhīnawayundhira
And to warnthose whosayAllah has takenAllah has takena son
18:4
مَّالَهُمبِهِۦمِنْعِلْمٍۢوَلَالِـَٔابَآئِهِمْ ۚكَبُرَتْكَلِمَةًۭتَخْرُجُمِنْأَفْوَٰهِهِمْ ۚإِنيَقُولُونَإِلَّاكَذِبًۭا
kadhibanillāyaqūlūnainafwāhihimmintakhrujukalimatankaburatliābāihimwalāʿil'minminbihilahummā
Notthey haveabout itanyknowledgeand nottheir forefathersGrave (is)the word(that) comes outoftheir mouthsNotthey sayexcepta lie
18:5
فَلَعَلَّكَبَـٰخِعٌۭنَّفْسَكَعَلَىٰٓءَاثَـٰرِهِمْإِنلَّمْيُؤْمِنُوا۟بِهَـٰذَاٱلْحَدِيثِأَسَفًا
asafanl-ḥadīthibihādhāyu'minūlamināthārihimʿalānafsakabākhiʿunfalaʿallaka
Then perhaps you would (be)the one who killsyourselfovertheir footstepsifnotthey believein this[the] narration(in) grief
18:6
إِنَّاجَعَلْنَامَاعَلَىٱلْأَرْضِزِينَةًۭلَّهَالِنَبْلُوَهُمْأَيُّهُمْأَحْسَنُعَمَلًۭا
ʿamalanaḥsanuayyuhumlinabluwahumlahāzīnatanl-arḍiʿalāmājaʿalnāinnā
Indeed, WeWe have madewhat(is) onthe earthadornmentfor itthat We may test [them]which of them(is) best(in) deed
18:7
وَإِنَّالَجَـٰعِلُونَمَاعَلَيْهَاصَعِيدًۭاجُرُزًا
juruzanṣaʿīdanʿalayhāmālajāʿilūnawa-innā
And indeed, We(will) surely makewhat(is) on itsoilbarren
18:8
أَمْحَسِبْتَأَنَّأَصْحَـٰبَٱلْكَهْفِوَٱلرَّقِيمِكَانُوا۟مِنْءَايَـٰتِنَاعَجَبًا
ʿajabanāyātināminkānūwal-raqīmil-kahfiaṣḥābaannaḥasib'taam
Orhave you thoughtthat(the) companions(of) the caveand the inscriptionwereamongOur Signsa wonder
18:9
إِذْأَوَىٱلْفِتْيَةُإِلَىٱلْكَهْفِفَقَالُوا۟رَبَّنَآءَاتِنَامِنلَّدُنكَرَحْمَةًۭوَهَيِّئْلَنَامِنْأَمْرِنَارَشَدًۭا
rashadanamrināminlanāwahayyiraḥmatanladunkaminātinārabbanāfaqālūl-kahfiilāl-fit'yatuawāidh
Whenretreatedthe youthstothe caveand they saidOur LordGrant usfromYourselfMercyand facilitatefor us[from]our affair(in the) right way
18:10
فَضَرَبْنَاعَلَىٰٓءَاذَانِهِمْفِىٱلْكَهْفِسِنِينَعَدَدًۭا
ʿadadansinīnal-kahfifīādhānihimʿalāfaḍarabnā
So We castovertheir earsinthe caveyears a number
18:11
ثُمَّبَعَثْنَـٰهُمْلِنَعْلَمَأَىُّٱلْحِزْبَيْنِأَحْصَىٰلِمَالَبِثُوٓا۟أَمَدًۭا
amadanlabithūlimāaḥṣāl-ḥiz'bayniayyulinaʿlamabaʿathnāhumthumma
ThenWe raised them upthat We make evidentwhich(of) the two partiesbest calculatedfor what(they had) remained(in) time
18:12
نَّحْنُنَقُصُّعَلَيْكَنَبَأَهُمبِٱلْحَقِّ ۚإِنَّهُمْفِتْيَةٌءَامَنُوا۟بِرَبِّهِمْوَزِدْنَـٰهُمْهُدًۭى
hudanwazid'nāhumbirabbihimāmanūfit'yatuninnahumbil-ḥaqinaba-ahumʿalaykanaquṣṣunaḥnu
Wenarrateto youtheir storyin truthIndeed, they (were)youthswho believedin their Lordand We increased them(in) guidance
18:13
وَرَبَطْنَاعَلَىٰقُلُوبِهِمْإِذْقَامُوا۟فَقَالُوا۟رَبُّنَارَبُّٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضِلَننَّدْعُوَا۟مِندُونِهِۦٓإِلَـٰهًۭا ۖلَّقَدْقُلْنَآإِذًۭاشَطَطًا
shaṭaṭanidhanqul'nālaqadilāhandūnihiminnadʿuwālanwal-arḍil-samāwātirabburabbunāfaqālūqāmūidhqulūbihimʿalāwarabaṭnā
And We made firm[on]their heartswhenthey stood upand saidOur Lord(is) the Lord(of) the heavensand the earthNeverwe will invokebesides Himbesides Himany godCertainlywe would have saidthenan enormity
18:14
هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِقَوْمُنَاٱتَّخَذُوا۟مِندُونِهِۦٓءَالِهَةًۭ ۖلَّوْلَايَأْتُونَعَلَيْهِمبِسُلْطَـٰنٍۭبَيِّنٍۢ ۖفَمَنْأَظْلَمُمِمَّنِٱفْتَرَىٰعَلَىٱللَّهِكَذِبًۭا
kadhibanl-lahiʿalāif'tarāmimmaniaẓlamufamanbayyininbisul'ṭāninʿalayhimyatūnalawlāālihatandūnihiminittakhadhūqawmunāhāulāi
Theseour peoplehave takenbesides Himbesides HimgodsWhy notthey cometo themwith an authorityclearAnd who(is) more wrongthan (one) whoinventsagainstAllaha lie
18:15
وَإِذِٱعْتَزَلْتُمُوهُمْوَمَايَعْبُدُونَإِلَّاٱللَّهَفَأْوُۥٓا۟إِلَىٱلْكَهْفِيَنشُرْلَكُمْرَبُّكُممِّنرَّحْمَتِهِۦوَيُهَيِّئْلَكُممِّنْأَمْرِكُممِّرْفَقًۭا
mir'faqanamrikumminlakumwayuhayyiraḥmatihiminrabbukumlakumyanshurl-kahfiilāfawūl-lahaillāyaʿbudūnawamāiʿ'tazaltumūhumwa-idhi
And whenyou withdraw from themand whatthey worshipexceptAllahthen retreattothe caveWill spreadfor youyour LordofHis Mercyand will facilitatefor you[from]your affair(in) ease
18:16
۞ وَتَرَىٱلشَّمْسَإِذَاطَلَعَتتَّزَٰوَرُعَنكَهْفِهِمْذَاتَٱلْيَمِينِوَإِذَاغَرَبَتتَّقْرِضُهُمْذَاتَٱلشِّمَالِوَهُمْفِىفَجْوَةٍۢمِّنْهُ ۚذَٰلِكَمِنْءَايَـٰتِٱللَّهِ ۗمَنيَهْدِٱللَّهُفَهُوَٱلْمُهْتَدِ ۖوَمَنيُضْلِلْفَلَنتَجِدَلَهُۥوَلِيًّۭامُّرْشِدًۭا
mur'shidanwaliyyanlahutajidafalanyuḍ'lilwamanl-muh'tadifahuwal-lahuyahdimanl-lahiāyātimindhālikamin'hufajwatinfīwahuml-shimālidhātataqriḍuhumgharabatwa-idhāl-yamīnidhātakahfihimʿantazāwaruṭalaʿatidhāl-shamsawatarā
And you (might) have seenthe sunwhenit roseinclining awayfromtheir cavetothe rightand whenit setpassing away from themtothe leftwhile they(lay) inthe open spacethereofThat(was) from(the) Signs(of) AllahWhoeverAllah guidesAllah guidesand he(is) the guided oneand whoeverHe lets go astraythen neveryou will findfor hima protectora guide
18:17
وَتَحْسَبُهُمْأَيْقَاظًۭاوَهُمْرُقُودٌۭ ۚوَنُقَلِّبُهُمْذَاتَٱلْيَمِينِوَذَاتَٱلشِّمَالِ ۖوَكَلْبُهُمبَـٰسِطٌۭذِرَاعَيْهِبِٱلْوَصِيدِ ۚلَوِٱطَّلَعْتَعَلَيْهِمْلَوَلَّيْتَمِنْهُمْفِرَارًۭاوَلَمُلِئْتَمِنْهُمْرُعْبًۭا
ruʿ'banmin'humwalamuli'tafirāranmin'humlawallaytaʿalayhimiṭṭalaʿtalawibil-waṣīdidhirāʿayhibāsiṭunwakalbuhuml-shimāliwadhātal-yamīnidhātawanuqallibuhumruqūdunwahumayqāẓanwataḥsabuhum
And you (would) think themawakewhile they(were) asleepAnd We turned themtothe rightand tothe leftwhile their dogstretchedhis two forelegsat the entranceIfyou had lookedat themyou (would) have surely turned backfrom them(in) flightand surely you would have been filledby them(with) terror
18:18
وَكَذَٰلِكَبَعَثْنَـٰهُمْلِيَتَسَآءَلُوا۟بَيْنَهُمْ ۚقَالَقَآئِلٌۭمِّنْهُمْكَمْلَبِثْتُمْ ۖقَالُوا۟لَبِثْنَايَوْمًاأَوْبَعْضَيَوْمٍۢ ۚقَالُوا۟رَبُّكُمْأَعْلَمُبِمَالَبِثْتُمْفَٱبْعَثُوٓا۟أَحَدَكُمبِوَرِقِكُمْهَـٰذِهِۦٓإِلَىٱلْمَدِينَةِفَلْيَنظُرْأَيُّهَآأَزْكَىٰطَعَامًۭافَلْيَأْتِكُمبِرِزْقٍۢمِّنْهُوَلْيَتَلَطَّفْوَلَايُشْعِرَنَّبِكُمْأَحَدًا
aḥadanbikumyush'ʿirannawalāwalyatalaṭṭafmin'hubiriz'qinfalyatikumṭaʿāmanazkāayyuhāfalyanẓurl-madīnatiilāhādhihibiwariqikumaḥadakumfa-ib'ʿathūlabith'tumbimāaʿlamurabbukumqālūyawminbaʿḍaawyawmanlabith'nāqālūlabith'tumkammin'humqāilunqālabaynahumliyatasāalūbaʿathnāhumwakadhālika
And similarlyWe raised themthat they might questionamong themSaida speakeramong themHow longhave you remainedThey saidWe have remaineda dayora part(of) a dayThey saidYour Lordknows besthow longyou have remainedSo sendone of youwith this silver coin of yourswith this silver coin of yourstothe cityand let him seewhich isthe purestfoodand let him bring to youprovisionfrom itand let him be cautiousAnd let not be awareAnd let not be awareabout youanyone
18:19
إِنَّهُمْإِنيَظْهَرُوا۟عَلَيْكُمْيَرْجُمُوكُمْأَوْيُعِيدُوكُمْفِىمِلَّتِهِمْوَلَنتُفْلِحُوٓا۟إِذًاأَبَدًۭا
abadanidhantuf'liḥūwalanmillatihimfīyuʿīdūkumawyarjumūkumʿalaykumyaẓharūininnahum
Indeed, [they]ifthey come to knowabout youthey will stone youorreturn youtotheir religionAnd neverwill you succeedthen ever
18:20
وَكَذَٰلِكَأَعْثَرْنَاعَلَيْهِمْلِيَعْلَمُوٓا۟أَنَّوَعْدَٱللَّهِحَقٌّۭوَأَنَّٱلسَّاعَةَلَارَيْبَفِيهَآإِذْيَتَنَـٰزَعُونَبَيْنَهُمْأَمْرَهُمْ ۖفَقَالُوا۟ٱبْنُوا۟عَلَيْهِمبُنْيَـٰنًۭا ۖرَّبُّهُمْأَعْلَمُبِهِمْ ۚقَالَٱلَّذِينَغَلَبُوا۟عَلَىٰٓأَمْرِهِمْلَنَتَّخِذَنَّعَلَيْهِممَّسْجِدًۭا
masjidanʿalayhimlanattakhidhannaamrihimʿalāghalabūalladhīnaqālabihimaʿlamurabbuhumbun'yānanʿalayhimib'nūfaqālūamrahumbaynahumyatanāzaʿūnaidhfīhāraybalāl-sāʿatawa-annaḥaqqunl-lahiwaʿdaannaliyaʿlamūʿalayhimaʿtharnāwakadhālika
And similarlyWe made knownabout themthat they might knowthat(the) Promise(of) Allah(is) trueand that(about) the Hour(there is) nodoubtin itWhenthey disputedamong themselvesabout their affairand they saidConstructover thema structureTheir Lordknows bestabout themSaidthose whoprevailedintheir matterSurely we will takeover thema place of worship
18:21
سَيَقُولُونَثَلَـٰثَةٌۭرَّابِعُهُمْكَلْبُهُمْوَيَقُولُونَخَمْسَةٌۭسَادِسُهُمْكَلْبُهُمْرَجْمًۢابِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖوَيَقُولُونَسَبْعَةٌۭوَثَامِنُهُمْكَلْبُهُمْ ۚقُلرَّبِّىٓأَعْلَمُبِعِدَّتِهِممَّايَعْلَمُهُمْإِلَّاقَلِيلٌۭ ۗفَلَاتُمَارِفِيهِمْإِلَّامِرَآءًۭظَـٰهِرًۭاوَلَاتَسْتَفْتِفِيهِممِّنْهُمْأَحَدًۭا
aḥadanmin'humfīhimtastaftiwalāẓāhiranmirāanillāfīhimtumārifalāqalīlunillāyaʿlamuhummābiʿiddatihimaʿlamurabbīqulkalbuhumwathāminuhumsabʿatunwayaqūlūnabil-ghaybirajmankalbuhumsādisuhumkhamsatunwayaqūlūnakalbuhumrābiʿuhumthalāthatunsayaqūlūna
They say(they were) threethe forth of themtheir dogand they say(they were) fivethe sixth of themtheir dog guessingabout the unseenand they say(they were) sevenand the eight of themtheir dogSayMy Lordknows besttheir numberNoneknows themexcepta fewSo (do) notargueabout themexcept(with) an argumentobviousand (do) notinquireabout themamong them(from) anyone
18:22
وَلَاتَقُولَنَّلِشَا۟ىْءٍإِنِّىفَاعِلٌۭذَٰلِكَغَدًا
ghadandhālikafāʿiluninnīlishāy'intaqūlannawalā
And (do) notsayof anythingIndeed, Iwill dothattomorrow
18:23
إِلَّآأَنيَشَآءَٱللَّهُ ۚوَٱذْكُررَّبَّكَإِذَانَسِيتَوَقُلْعَسَىٰٓأَنيَهْدِيَنِرَبِّىلِأَقْرَبَمِنْهَـٰذَارَشَدًۭا
rashadanhādhāminli-aqrabarabbīyahdiyanianʿasāwaqulnasītaidhārabbakawa-udh'kurl-lahuyashāaanillā
ExceptIfAllah willsAllah willsAnd rememberyour Lordwhenyou forgetand sayPerhaps[that]will guide memy Lordto a nearer (way)thanthisright way
18:24
وَلَبِثُوا۟فِىكَهْفِهِمْثَلَـٰثَمِا۟ئَةٍۢسِنِينَوَٱزْدَادُوا۟تِسْعًۭا
tis'ʿanwa-iz'dādūsinīnami-atinthalāthakahfihimfīwalabithū
And they remainedintheir cave(for) threehundredyearsand addnine
18:25
قُلِٱللَّهُأَعْلَمُبِمَالَبِثُوا۟ ۖلَهُۥغَيْبُٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖأَبْصِرْبِهِۦوَأَسْمِعْ ۚمَالَهُممِّندُونِهِۦمِنوَلِىٍّۢوَلَايُشْرِكُفِىحُكْمِهِۦٓأَحَدًۭا
aḥadanḥuk'mihifīyush'rikuwalāwaliyyinmindūnihiminlahummāwa-asmiʿbihiabṣirwal-arḍil-samāwātighaybulahulabithūbimāaʿlamul-lahuquli
SayAllahknows bestabout what (period)they remainedFor Him(is the) unseen(of) the heavensand the earthHow clearly He sees[of it]And how clearly He hearsNotfor thembesides Himbesides Himanyprotectorand notHe shares[in]His Commands(with) anyone
18:26
وَٱتْلُمَآأُوحِىَإِلَيْكَمِنكِتَابِرَبِّكَ ۖلَامُبَدِّلَلِكَلِمَـٰتِهِۦوَلَنتَجِدَمِندُونِهِۦمُلْتَحَدًۭا
mul'taḥadandūnihimintajidawalanlikalimātihimubaddilalārabbikakitābiminilaykaūḥiyamāwa-ut'lu
And recitewhathas been revealedto youofthe Book(of) your LordNonecan changeHis Wordsand neveryou will findbesides Himbesides Hima refuge
18:27
وَٱصْبِرْنَفْسَكَمَعَٱلَّذِينَيَدْعُونَرَبَّهُمبِٱلْغَدَوٰةِوَٱلْعَشِىِّيُرِيدُونَوَجْهَهُۥ ۖوَلَاتَعْدُعَيْنَاكَعَنْهُمْتُرِيدُزِينَةَٱلْحَيَوٰةِٱلدُّنْيَا ۖوَلَاتُطِعْمَنْأَغْفَلْنَاقَلْبَهُۥعَنذِكْرِنَاوَٱتَّبَعَهَوَىٰهُوَكَانَأَمْرُهُۥفُرُطًۭا
furuṭanamruhuwakānahawāhuwa-ittabaʿadhik'rināʿanqalbahuaghfalnāmantuṭiʿwalāl-dun'yāl-ḥayatizīnataturīduʿanhumʿaynākataʿduwalāwajhahuyurīdūnawal-ʿashiyibil-ghadatirabbahumyadʿūnaalladhīnamaʿanafsakawa-iṣ'bir
And be patientyourselfwiththose whocalltheir Lordin the morningand the eveningdesiringHis FaceAnd (let) notpass beyondyour eyesover themdesiringadornment(of) the life(of) the worldand (do) notobeywhomWe have made heedlesshis heartofOur remembranceand followshis desiresand ishis affair(in) excess
18:28
وَقُلِٱلْحَقُّمِنرَّبِّكُمْ ۖفَمَنشَآءَفَلْيُؤْمِنوَمَنشَآءَفَلْيَكْفُرْ ۚإِنَّآأَعْتَدْنَالِلظَّـٰلِمِينَنَارًاأَحَاطَبِهِمْسُرَادِقُهَا ۚوَإِنيَسْتَغِيثُوا۟يُغَاثُوا۟بِمَآءٍۢكَٱلْمُهْلِيَشْوِىٱلْوُجُوهَ ۚبِئْسَٱلشَّرَابُوَسَآءَتْمُرْتَفَقًا
mur'tafaqanwasāatl-sharābubi'sal-wujūhayashwīkal-muh'libimāinyughāthūyastaghīthūwa-insurādiquhābihimaḥāṭanāranlilẓẓālimīnaaʿtadnāinnāfalyakfurshāawamanfalyu'minshāafamanrabbikumminl-ḥaquwaquli
And sayThe truth(is) fromyour Lordso whoeverwills let him believeand whoeverwills let him disbelieveIndeed, Wehave preparedfor the wrongdoersa Firewill surroundthemits wallsAnd ifthey call for reliefthey will be relievedwith waterlike molten brass(which) scaldsthe facesWretched(is) the drinkand evil(is) the resting place
18:29
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟وَعَمِلُوا۟ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِإِنَّالَانُضِيعُأَجْرَمَنْأَحْسَنَعَمَلًا
ʿamalanaḥsanamanajranuḍīʿulāinnāl-ṣāliḥātiwaʿamilūāmanūalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whobelievedand didthe good deedsindeed, Wewill not let go wastewill not let go waste(the) reward(of one) whodoes gooddeeds
18:30
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَلَهُمْجَنَّـٰتُعَدْنٍۢتَجْرِىمِنتَحْتِهِمُٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُيُحَلَّوْنَفِيهَامِنْأَسَاوِرَمِنذَهَبٍۢوَيَلْبَسُونَثِيَابًاخُضْرًۭامِّنسُندُسٍۢوَإِسْتَبْرَقٍۢمُّتَّكِـِٔينَفِيهَاعَلَىٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۚنِعْمَٱلثَّوَابُوَحَسُنَتْمُرْتَفَقًۭا
mur'tafaqanwaḥasunatl-thawābuniʿ'mal-arāikiʿalāfīhāmuttakiīnawa-is'tabraqinsundusinminkhuḍ'ranthiyābanwayalbasūnadhahabinminasāwiraminfīhāyuḥallawnal-anhārutaḥtihimumintajrīʿadninjannātulahumulāika
Thosefor them(are) Gardensof Edenflowsfromunderneath themthe riversThey will be adornedtherein[of] (with)braceletsofgoldand will weargarmentsgreenoffine silkand heavy brocaderecliningthereinonadorned couchesExcellent(is) the rewardand good(is) the resting place
18:31
۞ وَٱضْرِبْلَهُممَّثَلًۭارَّجُلَيْنِجَعَلْنَالِأَحَدِهِمَاجَنَّتَيْنِمِنْأَعْنَـٰبٍۢوَحَفَفْنَـٰهُمَابِنَخْلٍۢوَجَعَلْنَابَيْنَهُمَازَرْعًۭا
zarʿanbaynahumāwajaʿalnābinakhlinwaḥafafnāhumāaʿnābinminjannataynili-aḥadihimājaʿalnārajulaynimathalanlahumwa-iḍ'rib
And set forthto themthe exampleof two men:We providedfor one of themtwo gardensofgrapesand We bordered themwith date-palmsand We placedbetween both of themcrops
18:32
كِلْتَاٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِءَاتَتْأُكُلَهَاوَلَمْتَظْلِممِّنْهُشَيْـًۭٔا ۚوَفَجَّرْنَاخِلَـٰلَهُمَانَهَرًۭا
naharankhilālahumāwafajjarnāshayanmin'hutaẓlimwalamukulahāātatl-janataynikil'tā
Each(of) the two gardensbrought forthits produceand notdid wrongof itanythingAnd We caused to gush forthwithin thema river
18:33
وَكَانَلَهُۥثَمَرٌۭفَقَالَلِصَـٰحِبِهِۦوَهُوَيُحَاوِرُهُۥٓأَنَا۠أَكْثَرُمِنكَمَالًۭاوَأَعَزُّنَفَرًۭا
nafaranwa-aʿazzumālanminkaaktharuanāyuḥāwiruhuwahuwaliṣāḥibihifaqālathamarunlahuwakāna
And wasfor himfruitso he saidto his companionwhile he(was) talking with himI amgreaterthan you(in) wealthand stronger(in) men
18:34
وَدَخَلَجَنَّتَهُۥوَهُوَظَالِمٌۭلِّنَفْسِهِۦقَالَمَآأَظُنُّأَنتَبِيدَهَـٰذِهِۦٓأَبَدًۭا
abadanhādhihitabīdaanaẓunnumāqālalinafsihiẓālimunwahuwajannatahuwadakhala
And he enteredhis gardenwhile he(was) unjustto himselfHe saidNotI thinkthatwill perishthisever
18:35
وَمَآأَظُنُّٱلسَّاعَةَقَآئِمَةًۭوَلَئِنرُّدِدتُّإِلَىٰرَبِّىلَأَجِدَنَّخَيْرًۭامِّنْهَامُنقَلَبًۭا
munqalabanmin'hākhayranla-ajidannarabbīilārudidttuwala-inqāimatanl-sāʿataaẓunnuwamā
And notI thinkthe Hourwill occurAnd ifI am brought backtomy LordI will surely findbetterthan this(as) a return
18:36
قَالَلَهُۥصَاحِبُهُۥوَهُوَيُحَاوِرُهُۥٓأَكَفَرْتَبِٱلَّذِىخَلَقَكَمِنتُرَابٍۢثُمَّمِننُّطْفَةٍۢثُمَّسَوَّىٰكَرَجُلًۭا
rajulansawwākathummanuṭ'fatinminthummaturābinminkhalaqakabi-alladhīakafartayuḥāwiruhuwahuwaṣāḥibuhulahuqāla
Saidto himhis companionwhile hewas talking to himDo you disbelievein One Whocreated youfromdustthenfroma minute quantity of sementhenfashioned you(into) a man
18:37
لَّـٰكِنَّا۠هُوَٱللَّهُرَبِّىوَلَآأُشْرِكُبِرَبِّىٓأَحَدًۭا
aḥadanbirabbīush'rikuwalārabbīl-lahuhuwalākinnā
But as for meHe(is) Allahmy Lordand notI associatewith my Lordanyone
18:38
وَلَوْلَآإِذْدَخَلْتَجَنَّتَكَقُلْتَمَاشَآءَٱللَّهُلَاقُوَّةَإِلَّابِٱللَّهِ ۚإِنتَرَنِأَنَا۠أَقَلَّمِنكَمَالًۭاوَوَلَدًۭا
wawaladanmālanminkaaqallaanātaraniinbil-lahiillāquwwatalāl-lahushāamāqul'tajannatakadakhaltaidhwalawlā
And why (did you) notwhenyou enteredyour gardensayWhatwillsAllah(there is) nopowerexceptwith AllahIfyou see me(me)lesserthan you(in) wealthand children
18:39
فَعَسَىٰرَبِّىٓأَنيُؤْتِيَنِخَيْرًۭامِّنجَنَّتِكَوَيُرْسِلَعَلَيْهَاحُسْبَانًۭامِّنَٱلسَّمَآءِفَتُصْبِحَصَعِيدًۭازَلَقًا
zalaqanṣaʿīdanfatuṣ'biḥal-samāiminaḥus'bānanʿalayhāwayur'silajannatikaminkhayranyu'tiyanianrabbīfaʿasā
It may bethat my Lordthat my Lordwill give mebetterthanyour gardenand will sendupon ita calamityfromthe skythen it will becomegroundslippery
18:40
أَوْيُصْبِحَمَآؤُهَاغَوْرًۭافَلَنتَسْتَطِيعَلَهُۥطَلَبًۭا
ṭalabanlahutastaṭīʿafalanghawranmāuhāyuṣ'biḥaaw
Orwill becomeits watersunkenso neveryou will be ableto find itto find it
18:41
وَأُحِيطَبِثَمَرِهِۦفَأَصْبَحَيُقَلِّبُكَفَّيْهِعَلَىٰمَآأَنفَقَفِيهَاوَهِىَخَاوِيَةٌعَلَىٰعُرُوشِهَاوَيَقُولُيَـٰلَيْتَنِىلَمْأُشْرِكْبِرَبِّىٓأَحَدًۭا
aḥadanbirabbīush'riklamyālaytanīwayaqūluʿurūshihāʿalākhāwiyatunwahiyafīhāanfaqamāʿalākaffayhiyuqallibufa-aṣbaḥabithamarihiwa-uḥīṭa
And were surroundedhis fruitsso he begantwistinghis handsoverwhathe (had) spenton itwhile it (had)collapsedonits trellisesand he saidOh! I wishI had not associatedI had not associatedwith my Lordanyone
18:42
وَلَمْتَكُنلَّهُۥفِئَةٌۭيَنصُرُونَهُۥمِندُونِٱللَّهِوَمَاكَانَمُنتَصِرًا
muntaṣirankānawamāl-lahidūniminyanṣurūnahufi-atunlahutakunwalam
And notwasfor hima group(to) help himother thanother thanAllahand notwas(he) supported
18:43
هُنَالِكَٱلْوَلَـٰيَةُلِلَّهِٱلْحَقِّ ۚهُوَخَيْرٌۭثَوَابًۭاوَخَيْرٌعُقْبًۭا
ʿuq'banwakhayrunthawābankhayrunhuwal-ḥaqilillahil-walāyatuhunālika
Therethe protection(is) from Allahthe TrueHe(is the) best(to) rewardand (the) best(for) the final end
18:44
وَٱضْرِبْلَهُممَّثَلَٱلْحَيَوٰةِٱلدُّنْيَاكَمَآءٍأَنزَلْنَـٰهُمِنَٱلسَّمَآءِفَٱخْتَلَطَبِهِۦنَبَاتُٱلْأَرْضِفَأَصْبَحَهَشِيمًۭاتَذْرُوهُٱلرِّيَـٰحُ ۗوَكَانَٱللَّهُعَلَىٰكُلِّشَىْءٍۢمُّقْتَدِرًا
muq'tadiranshayinkulliʿalāl-lahuwakānal-riyāḥutadhrūhuhashīmanfa-aṣbaḥal-arḍinabātubihifa-ikh'talaṭal-samāiminaanzalnāhukamāinl-dun'yāl-ḥayatimathalalahumwa-iḍ'rib
And presentto themthe example(of) the life(of) the worldlike waterwhich We send downfromthe skythen mingleswith it(the) vegetation(of) the earththen becomesdry stalksit (is) scattered(by) the windsAnd AllahAnd Allahovereverything(is) All Able
18:45
ٱلْمَالُوَٱلْبَنُونَزِينَةُٱلْحَيَوٰةِٱلدُّنْيَا ۖوَٱلْبَـٰقِيَـٰتُٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتُخَيْرٌعِندَرَبِّكَثَوَابًۭاوَخَيْرٌأَمَلًۭا
amalanwakhayrunthawābanrabbikaʿindakhayrunl-ṣāliḥātuwal-bāqiyātul-dun'yāl-ḥayatizīnatuwal-banūnaal-mālu
The wealthand children(are) adornment(of) the life(of) the worldBut the enduringgood deeds(are) betternearyour Lord(for) rewardand better(for) hope
18:46
وَيَوْمَنُسَيِّرُٱلْجِبَالَوَتَرَىٱلْأَرْضَبَارِزَةًۭوَحَشَرْنَـٰهُمْفَلَمْنُغَادِرْمِنْهُمْأَحَدًۭا
aḥadanmin'humnughādirfalamwaḥasharnāhumbārizatanl-arḍawatarāl-jibālanusayyiruwayawma
And the DayWe will cause (to) movethe mountainsand you will seethe earth(as) a leveled plainand We will gather themand notWe will leave behindfrom themanyone
18:47
وَعُرِضُوا۟عَلَىٰرَبِّكَصَفًّۭالَّقَدْجِئْتُمُونَاكَمَاخَلَقْنَـٰكُمْأَوَّلَمَرَّةٍۭ ۚبَلْزَعَمْتُمْأَلَّننَّجْعَلَلَكُممَّوْعِدًۭا
mawʿidanlakumnajʿalaallanzaʿamtumbalmarratinawwalakhalaqnākumkamāji'tumūnālaqadṣaffanrabbikaʿalāwaʿuriḍū
And they will be presentedbeforeyour Lord(in) rowsCertainlyyou have come to UsasWe created youthe firsttimeNayyou claimedthat notWe madefor youan appointment
18:48
وَوُضِعَٱلْكِتَـٰبُفَتَرَىٱلْمُجْرِمِينَمُشْفِقِينَمِمَّافِيهِوَيَقُولُونَيَـٰوَيْلَتَنَامَالِهَـٰذَاٱلْكِتَـٰبِلَايُغَادِرُصَغِيرَةًۭوَلَاكَبِيرَةًإِلَّآأَحْصَىٰهَا ۚوَوَجَدُوا۟مَاعَمِلُوا۟حَاضِرًۭا ۗوَلَايَظْلِمُرَبُّكَأَحَدًۭا
aḥadanrabbukayaẓlimuwalāḥāḍiranʿamilūmāwawajadūaḥṣāhāillākabīratanwalāṣaghīratanyughādirulāl-kitābihādhāmāliyāwaylatanāwayaqūlūnafīhimimmāmush'fiqīnal-muj'rimīnafatarāl-kitābuwawuḍiʿa
And (will) be placedthe Bookand you will seethe criminalsfearfulof what(is) in itand they will sayOh, woe to usWhat (is) forthis[the] Booknotleavesa smalland nota greatexcepthas enumerated itAnd they will findwhatthey didpresentedAnd notdeals unjustlyyour Lord(with) anyone
18:49
وَإِذْقُلْنَالِلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِٱسْجُدُوا۟لِـَٔادَمَفَسَجَدُوٓا۟إِلَّآإِبْلِيسَكَانَمِنَٱلْجِنِّفَفَسَقَعَنْأَمْرِرَبِّهِۦٓ ۗأَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُۥوَذُرِّيَّتَهُۥٓأَوْلِيَآءَمِندُونِىوَهُمْلَكُمْعَدُوٌّۢ ۚبِئْسَلِلظَّـٰلِمِينَبَدَلًۭا
badalanlilẓẓālimīnabi'saʿaduwwunlakumwahumdūnīminawliyāawadhurriyyatahuafatattakhidhūnahurabbihiamriʿanfafasaqal-jiniminakānaib'līsaillāfasajadūliādamaus'judūlil'malāikatiqul'nāwa-idh
And whenWe saidto the AngelsProstrateto Adamso they prostratedexceptIblis(He) wasofthe jinnand he rebelledagainstthe Command(of) his LordWill you then take himand his offspring(as) protectorsother than Meother than Mewhile they(are) to youenemiesWretchedfor the wrongdoers(is) the exchange
18:50
۞ مَّآأَشْهَدتُّهُمْخَلْقَٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضِوَلَاخَلْقَأَنفُسِهِمْوَمَاكُنتُمُتَّخِذَٱلْمُضِلِّينَعَضُدًۭا
ʿaḍudanl-muḍilīnamuttakhidhakuntuwamāanfusihimkhalqawalāwal-arḍil-samāwātikhalqaashhadttuhummā
NotI made them witnessthe creation(of) the heavensand the earthand notthe creation(of) themselvesand notI Amthe One to takethe misleaders(as) helper(s)
18:51
وَيَوْمَيَقُولُنَادُوا۟شُرَكَآءِىَٱلَّذِينَزَعَمْتُمْفَدَعَوْهُمْفَلَمْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟لَهُمْوَجَعَلْنَابَيْنَهُممَّوْبِقًۭا
mawbiqanbaynahumwajaʿalnālahumyastajībūfalamfadaʿawhumzaʿamtumalladhīnashurakāiyanādūyaqūluwayawma
And the DayHe will sayCallMy partnersthose whoyou claimedthen they will call thembut notthey will respondto themAnd We will makebetween thema barrier
18:52
وَرَءَاٱلْمُجْرِمُونَٱلنَّارَفَظَنُّوٓا۟أَنَّهُممُّوَاقِعُوهَاوَلَمْيَجِدُوا۟عَنْهَامَصْرِفًۭا
maṣrifanʿanhāyajidūwalammuwāqiʿūhāannahumfaẓannūl-nāral-muj'rimūnawaraā
And will seethe criminalsthe Fireand they (will be) certainthat theyare to fall in itAnd notthey will findfrom ita way of escape
18:53
وَلَقَدْصَرَّفْنَافِىهَـٰذَاٱلْقُرْءَانِلِلنَّاسِمِنكُلِّمَثَلٍۢ ۚوَكَانَٱلْإِنسَـٰنُأَكْثَرَشَىْءٍۢجَدَلًۭا
jadalanshayinaktharal-insānuwakānamathalinkulliminlilnnāsil-qur'ānihādhāfīṣarrafnāwalaqad
And certainlyWe have explainedinthisthe Quranfor mankindofeveryexampleBut isthe man(in) mostthingsquarrelsome
18:54
وَمَامَنَعَٱلنَّاسَأَنيُؤْمِنُوٓا۟إِذْجَآءَهُمُٱلْهُدَىٰوَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟رَبَّهُمْإِلَّآأَنتَأْتِيَهُمْسُنَّةُٱلْأَوَّلِينَأَوْيَأْتِيَهُمُٱلْعَذَابُقُبُلًۭا
qubulanl-ʿadhābuyatiyahumuawl-awalīnasunnatutatiyahumanillārabbahumwayastaghfirūl-hudājāahumuidhyu'minūanl-nāsamanaʿawamā
And nothingpreventsmenthatthey believewhenhas come to themthe guidanceand they ask forgiveness(of) their Lordexceptthatcomes to them(the) way(of) the former (people)orcomes to themthe punishmentbefore (them)
18:55
وَمَانُرْسِلُٱلْمُرْسَلِينَإِلَّامُبَشِّرِينَوَمُنذِرِينَ ۚوَيُجَـٰدِلُٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟بِٱلْبَـٰطِلِلِيُدْحِضُوا۟بِهِٱلْحَقَّ ۖوَٱتَّخَذُوٓا۟ءَايَـٰتِىوَمَآأُنذِرُوا۟هُزُوًۭا
huzuwanundhirūwamāāyātīwa-ittakhadhūl-ḥaqabihiliyud'ḥiḍūbil-bāṭilikafarūalladhīnawayujādiluwamundhirīnamubashirīnaillāl-mur'salīnanur'siluwamā
And notWe sendthe Messengersexcept(as) bearers of glad tidingsand (as) warnersAnd disputethose whodisbelievewith falsehoodto refutetherebythe truthAnd they takeMy Versesand whatthey are warned(in) ridicule
18:56
وَمَنْأَظْلَمُمِمَّنذُكِّرَبِـَٔايَـٰتِرَبِّهِۦفَأَعْرَضَعَنْهَاوَنَسِىَمَاقَدَّمَتْيَدَاهُ ۚإِنَّاجَعَلْنَاعَلَىٰقُلُوبِهِمْأَكِنَّةًأَنيَفْقَهُوهُوَفِىٓءَاذَانِهِمْوَقْرًۭا ۖوَإِنتَدْعُهُمْإِلَىٱلْهُدَىٰفَلَنيَهْتَدُوٓا۟إِذًاأَبَدًۭا
abadanidhanyahtadūfalanl-hudāilātadʿuhumwa-inwaqranādhānihimwafīyafqahūhuanakinnatanqulūbihimʿalājaʿalnāinnāyadāhuqaddamatmāwanasiyaʿanhāfa-aʿraḍarabbihibiāyātidhukkiramimmanaẓlamuwaman
And who(is) more wrongthan (he) whois remindedof the Verses(of) his Lordbut turns awayfrom themand forgetswhathave sent forthhis handsIndeed, We[We] have placedovertheir heartscoveringslestthey understand itand intheir ears(is) deafnessAnd ifyou call themtothe guidancethen neverthey will be guidedthenever
18:57
وَرَبُّكَٱلْغَفُورُذُوٱلرَّحْمَةِ ۖلَوْيُؤَاخِذُهُمبِمَاكَسَبُوا۟لَعَجَّلَلَهُمُٱلْعَذَابَ ۚبَللَّهُممَّوْعِدٌۭلَّنيَجِدُوا۟مِندُونِهِۦمَوْئِلًۭا
mawilandūnihiminyajidūlanmawʿidunlahumball-ʿadhābalahumulaʿajjalakasabūbimāyuākhidhuhumlawl-raḥmatidhūl-ghafūruwarabbuka
And your Lord(is) the Most ForgivingOwner(of) the MercyIfHe were to seize themfor whatthey have earnedsurely, He (would) have hastenedfor themthe punishmentButfor them(is) an appointmentneverthey will findother than itother than itan escape
18:58
وَتِلْكَٱلْقُرَىٰٓأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْلَمَّاظَلَمُوا۟وَجَعَلْنَالِمَهْلِكِهِممَّوْعِدًۭا
mawʿidanlimahlikihimwajaʿalnāẓalamūlammāahlaknāhuml-qurāwatil'ka
And these[the] townsWe destroyed themwhenthey wrongedand We madefor their destructionan appointed time
18:59
وَإِذْقَالَمُوسَىٰلِفَتَىٰهُلَآأَبْرَحُحَتَّىٰٓأَبْلُغَمَجْمَعَٱلْبَحْرَيْنِأَوْأَمْضِىَحُقُبًۭا
ḥuqubanamḍiyaawl-baḥraynimajmaʿaablughaḥattāabraḥulālifatāhumūsāqālawa-idh
And whensaidMusato his boyNotI will ceaseuntilI reachthe junction(of) the two seasorI continue(for) a long period
18:60
فَلَمَّابَلَغَامَجْمَعَبَيْنِهِمَانَسِيَاحُوتَهُمَافَٱتَّخَذَسَبِيلَهُۥفِىٱلْبَحْرِسَرَبًۭا
sarabanl-baḥrifīsabīlahufa-ittakhadhaḥūtahumānasiyābaynihimāmajmaʿabalaghāfalammā
But whenthey reachedthe junctionbetween themthey forgottheir fishand it tookits wayintothe seaslipping away
18:61
فَلَمَّاجَاوَزَاقَالَلِفَتَىٰهُءَاتِنَاغَدَآءَنَالَقَدْلَقِينَامِنسَفَرِنَاهَـٰذَانَصَبًۭا
naṣabanhādhāsafarināminlaqīnālaqadghadāanāātinālifatāhuqālajāwazāfalammā
Then whenthey had passed beyondhe saidto his boyBring usour morning mealCertainlywe have sufferedinour journeythisfatigue
18:62
قَالَأَرَءَيْتَإِذْأَوَيْنَآإِلَىٱلصَّخْرَةِفَإِنِّىنَسِيتُٱلْحُوتَوَمَآأَنسَىٰنِيهُإِلَّاٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُأَنْأَذْكُرَهُۥ ۚوَٱتَّخَذَسَبِيلَهُۥفِىٱلْبَحْرِعَجَبًۭا
ʿajabanl-baḥrifīsabīlahuwa-ittakhadhaadhkurahuanl-shayṭānuillāansānīhuwamāl-ḥūtanasītufa-innīl-ṣakhratiilāawaynāidhara-aytaqāla
He saidDid you seewhenwe retiredtothe rockThen indeed, I[I] forgotthe fishAnd notmade me forget itexceptthe ShaitaanthatI mention itAnd it tookits wayintothe seaamazingly
18:63
قَالَذَٰلِكَمَاكُنَّانَبْغِ ۚفَٱرْتَدَّاعَلَىٰٓءَاثَارِهِمَاقَصَصًۭا
qaṣaṣanāthārihimāʿalāfa-ir'taddānabghikunnāmādhālikaqāla
He saidThat(is) whatwe wereseekingSo they returnedontheir footprintsretracing
18:64
فَوَجَدَاعَبْدًۭامِّنْعِبَادِنَآءَاتَيْنَـٰهُرَحْمَةًۭمِّنْعِندِنَاوَعَلَّمْنَـٰهُمِنلَّدُنَّاعِلْمًۭا
ʿil'manladunnāminwaʿallamnāhuʿindināminraḥmatanātaynāhuʿibādināminʿabdanfawajadā
Then they founda servantfromOur servantswhom We had givenmercyfromUsand We had taught himfromUsa knowledge
18:65
قَالَلَهُۥمُوسَىٰهَلْأَتَّبِعُكَعَلَىٰٓأَنتُعَلِّمَنِمِمَّاعُلِّمْتَرُشْدًۭا
rush'danʿullim'tamimmātuʿallimanianʿalāattabiʿukahalmūsālahuqāla
Saidto himMusaMayI follow youonthatyou teach meof whatyou have been taught(of) right guidance
18:66
قَالَإِنَّكَلَنتَسْتَطِيعَمَعِىَصَبْرًۭا
ṣabranmaʿiyatastaṭīʿalaninnakaqāla
He saidIndeed, youneverwill be ablewith me(to have) patience
18:67
وَكَيْفَتَصْبِرُعَلَىٰمَالَمْتُحِطْبِهِۦخُبْرًۭا
khub'ranbihituḥiṭlammāʿalātaṣbiruwakayfa
And how canyou have patienceforwhatnotyou encompassof itany knowledge
18:68
قَالَسَتَجِدُنِىٓإِنشَآءَٱللَّهُصَابِرًۭاوَلَآأَعْصِىلَكَأَمْرًۭا
amranlakaaʿṣīwalāṣābiranl-lahushāainsatajidunīqāla
He saidYou will find meifAllah willsAllah willspatientand notI will disobeyyourorder
18:69
قَالَفَإِنِٱتَّبَعْتَنِىفَلَاتَسْـَٔلْنِىعَنشَىْءٍحَتَّىٰٓأُحْدِثَلَكَمِنْهُذِكْرًۭا
dhik'ranmin'hulakauḥ'dithaḥattāshayinʿantasalnīfalāittabaʿtanīfa-iniqāla
He saidThen ifyou follow me(do) notask meaboutanythinguntilI presentto youof ita mention
18:70
فَٱنطَلَقَاحَتَّىٰٓإِذَارَكِبَافِىٱلسَّفِينَةِخَرَقَهَا ۖقَالَأَخَرَقْتَهَالِتُغْرِقَأَهْلَهَالَقَدْجِئْتَشَيْـًٔاإِمْرًۭا
im'ranshayanji'talaqadahlahālitugh'riqaakharaqtahāqālakharaqahāl-safīnatifīrakibāidhāḥattāfa-inṭalaqā
So they both set outuntilwhenthey had embarkedonthe shiphe made a hole in itHe saidHave you made a hole in itto drownits peopleCertainlyyou have donea thinggrave
18:71
قَالَأَلَمْأَقُلْإِنَّكَلَنتَسْتَطِيعَمَعِىَصَبْرًۭا
ṣabranmaʿiyatastaṭīʿalaninnakaaqulalamqāla
He saidDid notI sayindeed, youneverwill be ablewith me(to have) patience
18:72
قَالَلَاتُؤَاخِذْنِىبِمَانَسِيتُوَلَاتُرْهِقْنِىمِنْأَمْرِىعُسْرًۭا
ʿus'ranamrīmintur'hiq'nīwalānasītubimātuākhidh'nīlāqāla
He said(Do) notblame mefor whatI forgotand (do) notbe hard (upon) meinmy affair(raising) difficulty
18:73
فَٱنطَلَقَاحَتَّىٰٓإِذَالَقِيَاغُلَـٰمًۭافَقَتَلَهُۥقَالَأَقَتَلْتَنَفْسًۭازَكِيَّةًۢبِغَيْرِنَفْسٍۢلَّقَدْجِئْتَشَيْـًۭٔانُّكْرًۭا
nuk'ranshayanji'talaqadnafsinbighayrizakiyyatannafsanaqataltaqālafaqatalahughulāmanlaqiyāidhāḥattāfa-inṭalaqā
Then they both set outuntilwhenthey meta boythen he killed himHe saidHave you killeda soulpurefor other thana soulCertainlyyou have donea thingevil
18:74
