Basmala
۞ تِلْكَٱلرُّسُلُفَضَّلْنَابَعْضَهُمْعَلَىٰبَعْضٍۢ ۘمِّنْهُممَّنكَلَّمَٱللَّهُ ۖوَرَفَعَبَعْضَهُمْدَرَجَـٰتٍۢ ۚوَءَاتَيْنَاعِيسَىٱبْنَمَرْيَمَٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتِوَأَيَّدْنَـٰهُبِرُوحِٱلْقُدُسِ ۗوَلَوْشَآءَٱللَّهُمَاٱقْتَتَلَٱلَّذِينَمِنۢبَعْدِهِممِّنۢبَعْدِمَاجَآءَتْهُمُٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُوَلَـٰكِنِٱخْتَلَفُوا۟فَمِنْهُممَّنْءَامَنَوَمِنْهُممَّنكَفَرَ ۚوَلَوْشَآءَٱللَّهُمَاٱقْتَتَلُوا۟وَلَـٰكِنَّٱللَّهَيَفْعَلُمَايُرِيدُ
yurīdumāyafʿalul-lahawalākinnaiq'tatalūmāl-lahushāawalawkafaramanwamin'humāmanamanfamin'humikh'talafūwalākinil-bayinātujāathumumābaʿdiminbaʿdihimminalladhīnaiq'tatalamāl-lahushāawalawl-qudusibirūḥiwa-ayyadnāhul-bayinātimaryamaib'naʿīsāwaātaynādarajātinbaʿḍahumwarafaʿal-lahukallamamanmin'humbaʿḍinʿalābaʿḍahumfaḍḍalnāl-rusulutil'ka
These(are) the MessengersWe (have) preferredsome of themoverothersAmong them(were those with) whomspokeAllahand He raisedsome of them(in) degreesAnd We gaveIsason(of) Maryamthe clear proofsand We supported himwith Spirit[the] HolyAnd if(had) willedAllahnot(would have) fought each otherthose who(came) fromafter themfromafter[what]came to themthe clear proofs[And] butthey differed[so] of them(are some) whobelievedand of them(are some) whodeniedAnd if(had) willedAllahnotthey (would have) fought each other[and] butAllahdoeswhatHe intends
2:253
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوٓا۟أَنفِقُوا۟مِمَّارَزَقْنَـٰكُممِّنقَبْلِأَنيَأْتِىَيَوْمٌۭلَّابَيْعٌۭفِيهِوَلَاخُلَّةٌۭوَلَاشَفَـٰعَةٌۭ ۗوَٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَهُمُٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
l-ẓālimūnahumuwal-kāfirūnashafāʿatunwalākhullatunwalāfīhibayʿunlāyawmunyatiyaanqabliminrazaqnākummimmāanfiqūāmanūalladhīnayāayyuhā
O youwhobelieve[d]Spendof whatWe (have) provided youfrombeforethatcomesa Daynobargainingin itand nofriendshipand nointercessionAnd the deniers they(are) the wrongdoers
2:254
ٱللَّهُلَآإِلَـٰهَإِلَّاهُوَٱلْحَىُّٱلْقَيُّومُ ۚلَاتَأْخُذُهُۥسِنَةٌۭوَلَانَوْمٌۭ ۚلَّهُۥمَافِىٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَمَافِىٱلْأَرْضِ ۗمَنذَاٱلَّذِىيَشْفَعُعِندَهُۥٓإِلَّابِإِذْنِهِۦ ۚيَعْلَمُمَابَيْنَأَيْدِيهِمْوَمَاخَلْفَهُمْ ۖوَلَايُحِيطُونَبِشَىْءٍۢمِّنْعِلْمِهِۦٓإِلَّابِمَاشَآءَ ۚوَسِعَكُرْسِيُّهُٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضَ ۖوَلَايَـُٔودُهُۥحِفْظُهُمَا ۚوَهُوَٱلْعَلِىُّٱلْعَظِيمُ
l-ʿaẓīmul-ʿaliyuwahuwaḥif'ẓuhumāyaūduhuwalāwal-arḍal-samāwātikur'siyyuhuwasiʿashāabimāillāʿil'mihiminbishayinyuḥīṭūnawalākhalfahumwamāaydīhimbaynamāyaʿlamubi-idh'nihiillāʿindahuyashfaʿualladhīdhāmanl-arḍifīwamāl-samāwātifīmālahunawmunwalāsinatuntakhudhuhulāl-qayūmul-ḥayuhuwaillāilāhalāal-lahu
Allah (there is) noGodexceptHimthe Ever-Livingthe Sustainer of all that existsNotovertakes Himslumber[and] notsleepTo Him (belongs)what(ever)(is) inthe heavensand what(ever)(is) inthe earthWho(is) the onewhocan intercedewith Himexceptby His permissionHe knowswhat(is)before themand what(is) behind themAnd notthey encompassanythingofHis Knowledgeexcept[of] whatHe willedExtendsHis Seat(to) the heavensand the earthAnd nottires Him(the) guarding of both of themAnd He(is) the Most Highthe Most Great
2:255
لَآإِكْرَاهَفِىٱلدِّينِ ۖقَدتَّبَيَّنَٱلرُّشْدُمِنَٱلْغَىِّ ۚفَمَنيَكْفُرْبِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِوَيُؤْمِنۢبِٱللَّهِفَقَدِٱسْتَمْسَكَبِٱلْعُرْوَةِٱلْوُثْقَىٰلَاٱنفِصَامَلَهَا ۗوَٱللَّهُسَمِيعٌعَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmunsamīʿunwal-lahulahāinfiṣāmalāl-wuth'qābil-ʿur'watiis'tamsakafaqadibil-lahiwayu'minbil-ṭāghūtiyakfurfamanl-ghayiminal-rush'dutabayyanaqadl-dīnifīik'rāhalā
(There is) nocompulsioninthe religionSurelyhas become distinctthe right (path)fromthe wrongThen whoeverdisbelievesin false deitiesand believesin Allahthen surelyhe graspedthe handhold [the] firm(which) not(will) break[for it]And Allah(is) All-HearingAll-Knowing
2:256
ٱللَّهُوَلِىُّٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟يُخْرِجُهُممِّنَٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِإِلَىٱلنُّورِ ۖوَٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوٓا۟أَوْلِيَآؤُهُمُٱلطَّـٰغُوتُيُخْرِجُونَهُممِّنَٱلنُّورِإِلَىٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ ۗأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَأَصْحَـٰبُٱلنَّارِ ۖهُمْفِيهَاخَـٰلِدُونَ
khālidūnafīhāhuml-nāriaṣḥābuulāikal-ẓulumātiilāl-nūriminayukh'rijūnahuml-ṭāghūtuawliyāuhumukafarūwa-alladhīnal-nūriilāl-ẓulumātiminayukh'rijuhumāmanūalladhīnawaliyyual-lahu
Allah(is the) Protecting Guardian(of) those whobelieve[d]He brings them outfrom[the] darknesstowards[the] lightAnd those whodisbelieve(d)their guardians(are) the evil onesthey bring them outfromthe lighttowards[the] darknessThose(are the) companions(of) the Firetheyin itwill abide forever
2:257
أَلَمْتَرَإِلَىٱلَّذِىحَآجَّإِبْرَٰهِـۧمَفِىرَبِّهِۦٓأَنْءَاتَىٰهُٱللَّهُٱلْمُلْكَإِذْقَالَإِبْرَٰهِـۧمُرَبِّىَٱلَّذِىيُحْىِۦوَيُمِيتُقَالَأَنَا۠أُحْىِۦوَأُمِيتُ ۖقَالَإِبْرَٰهِـۧمُفَإِنَّٱللَّهَيَأْتِىبِٱلشَّمْسِمِنَٱلْمَشْرِقِفَأْتِبِهَامِنَٱلْمَغْرِبِفَبُهِتَٱلَّذِىكَفَرَ ۗوَٱللَّهُلَايَهْدِىٱلْقَوْمَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnal-qawmayahdīlāwal-lahukafaraalladhīfabuhital-maghribiminabihāfatil-mashriqiminabil-shamsiyatīl-lahafa-innaib'rāhīmuqālawa-umītuuḥ'yīanāqālawayumītuyuḥ'yīalladhīrabbiyaib'rāhīmuqālaidhl-mul'kal-lahuātāhuanrabbihifīib'rāhīmaḥājjaalladhīilātaraalam
Did notyou see[towards]the one whoargued(with) Ibrahimconcerninghis Lordbecausegave himAllahthe kingdomWhenSaidIbrahimMy Lord(is) the One Whogrants lifeand causes deathHe saidIgive lifeand cause deathSaidIbrahim[Then] indeedAllahbrings upthe sunfromthe eastso you bringitfromthe westSo became dumbfoundedthe one whodisbelievedand Allah(does) notguidethe people(who are) [the] wrongdoers
2:258
أَوْكَٱلَّذِىمَرَّعَلَىٰقَرْيَةٍۢوَهِىَخَاوِيَةٌعَلَىٰعُرُوشِهَاقَالَأَنَّىٰيُحْىِۦهَـٰذِهِٱللَّهُبَعْدَمَوْتِهَا ۖفَأَمَاتَهُٱللَّهُمِا۟ئَةَعَامٍۢثُمَّبَعَثَهُۥ ۖقَالَكَمْلَبِثْتَ ۖقَالَلَبِثْتُيَوْمًاأَوْبَعْضَيَوْمٍۢ ۖقَالَبَللَّبِثْتَمِا۟ئَةَعَامٍۢفَٱنظُرْإِلَىٰطَعَامِكَوَشَرَابِكَلَمْيَتَسَنَّهْ ۖوَٱنظُرْإِلَىٰحِمَارِكَوَلِنَجْعَلَكَءَايَةًۭلِّلنَّاسِ ۖوَٱنظُرْإِلَىٱلْعِظَامِكَيْفَنُنشِزُهَاثُمَّنَكْسُوهَالَحْمًۭا ۚفَلَمَّاتَبَيَّنَلَهُۥقَالَأَعْلَمُأَنَّٱللَّهَعَلَىٰكُلِّشَىْءٍۢقَدِيرٌۭ
qadīrunshayinkulliʿalāl-lahaannaaʿlamuqālalahutabayyanafalammālaḥmannaksūhāthummanunshizuhākayfal-ʿiẓāmiilāwa-unẓurlilnnāsiāyatanwalinajʿalakaḥimārikailāwa-unẓuryatasannahlamwasharābikaṭaʿāmikailāfa-unẓurʿāminmi-atalabith'tabalqālayawminbaʿḍaawyawmanlabith'tuqālalabith'takamqālabaʿathahuthummaʿāminmi-atal-lahufa-amātahumawtihābaʿdal-lahuhādhihiyuḥ'yīannāqālaʿurūshihāʿalākhāwiyatunwahiyaqaryatinʿalāmarraka-alladhīaw
Orlike the one whopassedbya townshipand it(had) overturnedonits roofsHe saidHow(will) bring to lifethis (town)Allahafterits deathThen he was made to die(by) Allah(for) a hundredyear(s)thenHe raised himHe saidHow long(have) you remainedHe saidI remained(for) a dayora part(of) a dayHe saidNayyou (have) remainedone hundredyear(s)Then lookatyour foodand your drink(they did) notchange with timeand lookatyour donkeyand We will make youa signfor the peopleAnd lookatthe boneshowWe raise themthenWe cover them(with) fleshThen whenbecame clearto himhe saidI knowthatAllah(is) oneverythingAll-Powerful
2:259
وَإِذْقَالَإِبْرَٰهِـۧمُرَبِّأَرِنِىكَيْفَتُحْىِٱلْمَوْتَىٰ ۖقَالَأَوَلَمْتُؤْمِن ۖقَالَبَلَىٰوَلَـٰكِنلِّيَطْمَئِنَّقَلْبِى ۖقَالَفَخُذْأَرْبَعَةًۭمِّنَٱلطَّيْرِفَصُرْهُنَّإِلَيْكَثُمَّٱجْعَلْعَلَىٰكُلِّجَبَلٍۢمِّنْهُنَّجُزْءًۭاثُمَّٱدْعُهُنَّيَأْتِينَكَسَعْيًۭا ۚوَٱعْلَمْأَنَّٱللَّهَعَزِيزٌحَكِيمٌۭ
ḥakīmunʿazīzunl-lahaannawa-iʿ'lamsaʿyanyatīnakaud'ʿuhunnathummajuz'anmin'hunnajabalinkulliʿalāij'ʿalthummailaykafaṣur'hunnal-ṭayriminaarbaʿatanfakhudhqālaqalbīliyaṭma-innawalākinbalāqālatu'minawalamqālal-mawtātuḥ'yīkayfaarinīrabbiib'rāhīmuqālawa-idh
And whensaidIbrahimMy Lordshow mehowYou give life(to) the deadHe saidHave notyou believedHe saidYes[and] butto satisfymy heartHe saidThen takefourofthe birdsand incline themtowards youthenputoneachhillof thema portionthencall themthey will come to you(in) hasteAnd knowthatAllah(is) All-MightyAll-Wise
2:260
مَّثَلُٱلَّذِينَيُنفِقُونَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْفِىسَبِيلِٱللَّهِكَمَثَلِحَبَّةٍأَنۢبَتَتْسَبْعَسَنَابِلَفِىكُلِّسُنۢبُلَةٍۢمِّا۟ئَةُحَبَّةٍۢ ۗوَٱللَّهُيُضَـٰعِفُلِمَنيَشَآءُ ۗوَٱللَّهُوَٰسِعٌعَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmunwāsiʿunwal-lahuyashāulimanyuḍāʿifuwal-lahuḥabbatinmi-atusunbulatinkullifīsanābilasabʿaanbatatḥabbatinkamathalil-lahisabīlifīamwālahumyunfiqūnaalladhīnamathalu
Example(of) those whospendtheir wealthin(the) way(of) Allah(is) likea grainwhich growssevenearsineachearhundredgrain(s)And Allahgives manifoldto whomHe willsAnd Allah(is) All-EncompassingAll-Knowing
2:261
ٱلَّذِينَيُنفِقُونَأَمْوَٰلَهُمْفِىسَبِيلِٱللَّهِثُمَّلَايُتْبِعُونَمَآأَنفَقُوا۟مَنًّۭاوَلَآأَذًۭى ۙلَّهُمْأَجْرُهُمْعِندَرَبِّهِمْوَلَاخَوْفٌعَلَيْهِمْوَلَاهُمْيَحْزَنُونَ
yaḥzanūnahumwalāʿalayhimkhawfunwalārabbihimʿindaajruhumlahumadhanwalāmannananfaqūmāyut'biʿūnalāthummal-lahisabīlifīamwālahumyunfiqūnaalladhīna
Those whospendtheir wealthin(the) way(of) Allahthennotthey followwhatthey spend(with) reminders of generosityand nothurt for themtheir reward(is) withtheir Lordand (there will be) nofearon themand nottheywill grieve
2:262
۞ قَوْلٌۭمَّعْرُوفٌۭوَمَغْفِرَةٌخَيْرٌۭمِّنصَدَقَةٍۢيَتْبَعُهَآأَذًۭى ۗوَٱللَّهُغَنِىٌّحَلِيمٌۭ
ḥalīmunghaniyyunwal-lahuadhanyatbaʿuhāṣadaqatinminkhayrunwamaghfiratunmaʿrūfunqawlun
A wordkindand (seeking) forgiveness(are) betterthana charityfollowed [it](by) hurtAnd Allah(is) All-SufficientAll-Forbearing
2:263
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟لَاتُبْطِلُوا۟صَدَقَـٰتِكُمبِٱلْمَنِّوَٱلْأَذَىٰكَٱلَّذِىيُنفِقُمَالَهُۥرِئَآءَٱلنَّاسِوَلَايُؤْمِنُبِٱللَّهِوَٱلْيَوْمِٱلْـَٔاخِرِ ۖفَمَثَلُهُۥكَمَثَلِصَفْوَانٍعَلَيْهِتُرَابٌۭفَأَصَابَهُۥوَابِلٌۭفَتَرَكَهُۥصَلْدًۭا ۖلَّايَقْدِرُونَعَلَىٰشَىْءٍۢمِّمَّاكَسَبُوا۟ ۗوَٱللَّهُلَايَهْدِىٱلْقَوْمَٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnal-qawmayahdīlāwal-lahukasabūmimmāshayinʿalāyaqdirūnalāṣaldanfatarakahuwābilunfa-aṣābahuturābunʿalayhiṣafwāninkamathalifamathaluhul-ākhiriwal-yawmibil-lahiyu'minuwalāl-nāsiriāamālahuyunfiquka-alladhīwal-adhābil-maniṣadaqātikumtub'ṭilūlāāmanūalladhīnayāayyuhā
O youwhobelieve[d](Do) notrender in vainyour charitieswith reminders (of it)or [the] hurtlike the one whospendshis wealth(to) be seen(by) the peopleand (does) notbelievein Allahand the Day[the] LastThen his example(is) like(that of a) smooth rockupon it(is) dustthen fell on itheavy rainthen left itbareNotthey have controlonanythingof whatthey (have) earnedAnd Allah(does) notguidethe people[the] disbelieving
2:264
وَمَثَلُٱلَّذِينَيُنفِقُونَأَمْوَٰلَهُمُٱبْتِغَآءَمَرْضَاتِٱللَّهِوَتَثْبِيتًۭامِّنْأَنفُسِهِمْكَمَثَلِجَنَّةٍۭبِرَبْوَةٍأَصَابَهَاوَابِلٌۭفَـَٔاتَتْأُكُلَهَاضِعْفَيْنِفَإِنلَّمْيُصِبْهَاوَابِلٌۭفَطَلٌّۭ ۗوَٱللَّهُبِمَاتَعْمَلُونَبَصِيرٌ
baṣīruntaʿmalūnabimāwal-lahufaṭallunwābilunyuṣib'hālamfa-inḍiʿ'fayniukulahāfaātatwābilunaṣābahābirabwatinjannatinkamathalianfusihimminwatathbītanl-lahimarḍātiib'tighāaamwālahumuyunfiqūnaalladhīnawamathalu
And (the) example(of) those whospendtheir wealthseeking(the) pleasure(of) Allahand certaintyfromtheir (inner) souls(is) likea gardenon a heightfell on itheavy rainso it yieldedits harvestdoubleThen if(does) notfall (on) itheavy rainthen a drizzleAnd Allahof whatyou do(is) All-Seer
2:265
أَيَوَدُّأَحَدُكُمْأَنتَكُونَلَهُۥجَنَّةٌۭمِّننَّخِيلٍۢوَأَعْنَابٍۢتَجْرِىمِنتَحْتِهَاٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُلَهُۥفِيهَامِنكُلِّٱلثَّمَرَٰتِوَأَصَابَهُٱلْكِبَرُوَلَهُۥذُرِّيَّةٌۭضُعَفَآءُفَأَصَابَهَآإِعْصَارٌۭفِيهِنَارٌۭفَٱحْتَرَقَتْ ۗكَذَٰلِكَيُبَيِّنُٱللَّهُلَكُمُٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِلَعَلَّكُمْتَتَفَكَّرُونَ
tatafakkarūnalaʿallakuml-āyātilakumul-lahuyubayyinukadhālikafa-iḥ'taraqatnārunfīhiiʿ'ṣārunfa-aṣābahāḍuʿafāudhurriyyatunwalahul-kibaruwa-aṣābahul-thamarātikulliminfīhālahul-anhārutaḥtihāmintajrīwa-aʿnābinnakhīlinminjannatunlahutakūnaanaḥadukumayawaddu
Would likeany of youthatit befor hima gardenofdate-palmsand grapevinesflowing[from]underneath itthe riversfor himin itofall (kinds)(of) [the] fruitsand strikes him[the] old ageand [for] hischildren(are) weakthen falls on itwhirlwindin it(is) firethen it is burntThusmakes clearAllahfor you(His) Signsso that you mayponder
2:266
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوٓا۟أَنفِقُوا۟مِنطَيِّبَـٰتِمَاكَسَبْتُمْوَمِمَّآأَخْرَجْنَالَكُممِّنَٱلْأَرْضِ ۖوَلَاتَيَمَّمُوا۟ٱلْخَبِيثَمِنْهُتُنفِقُونَوَلَسْتُمبِـَٔاخِذِيهِإِلَّآأَنتُغْمِضُوا۟فِيهِ ۚوَٱعْلَمُوٓا۟أَنَّٱللَّهَغَنِىٌّحَمِيدٌ
ḥamīdunghaniyyunl-lahaannawa-iʿ'lamūfīhitugh'miḍūanillābiākhidhīhiwalastumtunfiqūnamin'hul-khabīthatayammamūwalāl-arḍiminalakumakhrajnāwamimmākasabtummāṭayyibātiminanfiqūāmanūalladhīnayāayyuhā
O youwhobelieve[d]Spendfrom(the) good thingsthatyou have earnedand whateverWe brought forthfor youfromthe earthAnd (do) notaim (at)the badof ityou spendwhile you (would) nottake itexcept[that](with) close(d) eyes[in it]and knowthatAllah(is) Self-SufficientPraiseworthy
2:267
ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُيَعِدُكُمُٱلْفَقْرَوَيَأْمُرُكُمبِٱلْفَحْشَآءِ ۖوَٱللَّهُيَعِدُكُممَّغْفِرَةًۭمِّنْهُوَفَضْلًۭا ۗوَٱللَّهُوَٰسِعٌعَلِيمٌۭ
ʿalīmunwāsiʿunwal-lahuwafaḍlanmin'humaghfiratanyaʿidukumwal-lahubil-faḥshāiwayamurukuml-faqrayaʿidukumual-shayṭānu
The Shaitaanpromises you[the] povertyand orders youto immoralitywhile Allahpromises youforgivenessfrom Himand bountyAnd Allah(is) All-EncompassingAll-Knowing
2:268
يُؤْتِىٱلْحِكْمَةَمَنيَشَآءُ ۚوَمَنيُؤْتَٱلْحِكْمَةَفَقَدْأُوتِىَخَيْرًۭاكَثِيرًۭا ۗوَمَايَذَّكَّرُإِلَّآأُو۟لُوا۟ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
l-albābiulūillāyadhakkaruwamākathīrankhayranūtiyafaqadl-ḥik'matayu'tawamanyashāumanl-ḥik'matayu'tī
He grants[the] wisdom(to) whomHe willsand whoeveris granted[the] wisdomthen certainlyhe is grantedgoodabundantAnd noneremembersexceptthose(of) understanding
2:269
وَمَآأَنفَقْتُممِّننَّفَقَةٍأَوْنَذَرْتُممِّننَّذْرٍۢفَإِنَّٱللَّهَيَعْلَمُهُۥ ۗوَمَالِلظَّـٰلِمِينَمِنْأَنصَارٍ
anṣārinminlilẓẓālimīnawamāyaʿlamuhul-lahafa-innanadhrinminnadhartumawnafaqatinminanfaqtumwamā
And whateveryou spend(out) of(your) expendituresoryou vowofvow(s)then indeedAllahknows itand notfor the wrongdoersanyhelpers
2:270
إِنتُبْدُوا۟ٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِفَنِعِمَّاهِىَ ۖوَإِنتُخْفُوهَاوَتُؤْتُوهَاٱلْفُقَرَآءَفَهُوَخَيْرٌۭلَّكُمْ ۚوَيُكَفِّرُعَنكُممِّنسَيِّـَٔاتِكُمْ ۗوَٱللَّهُبِمَاتَعْمَلُونَخَبِيرٌۭ
khabīruntaʿmalūnabimāwal-lahusayyiātikumminʿankumwayukaffirulakumkhayrunfahuwal-fuqarāawatu'tūhātukh'fūhāwa-inhiyafaniʿimmāl-ṣadaqātitub'dūin
Ifyou disclosethe charitiesthen goodit (is)But ifyou keep it secretand give it(to) the poorthen it(is) betterfor youAnd He will removefrom you[of]your evil deedsAnd Allahwith whatyou do(is) All-Aware
2:271
۞ لَّيْسَعَلَيْكَهُدَىٰهُمْوَلَـٰكِنَّٱللَّهَيَهْدِىمَنيَشَآءُ ۗوَمَاتُنفِقُوا۟مِنْخَيْرٍۢفَلِأَنفُسِكُمْ ۚوَمَاتُنفِقُونَإِلَّاٱبْتِغَآءَوَجْهِٱللَّهِ ۚوَمَاتُنفِقُوا۟مِنْخَيْرٍۢيُوَفَّإِلَيْكُمْوَأَنتُمْلَاتُظْلَمُونَ
tuẓ'lamūnalāwa-antumilaykumyuwaffakhayrinmintunfiqūwamāl-lahiwajhiib'tighāaillātunfiqūnawamāfali-anfusikumkhayrinmintunfiqūwamāyashāumanyahdīl-lahawalākinnahudāhumʿalaykalaysa
Noton you(is) their guidance[and] butAllahguideswhomHe willsAnd whateveryou spendofgoodthen it is for yourselfand notyou spendexceptseeking(the) face(of) AllahAnd whateveryou spendofgoodwill be repaid in fullto youand you(will) notbe wronged
2:272
لِلْفُقَرَآءِٱلَّذِينَأُحْصِرُوا۟فِىسَبِيلِٱللَّهِلَايَسْتَطِيعُونَضَرْبًۭافِىٱلْأَرْضِيَحْسَبُهُمُٱلْجَاهِلُأَغْنِيَآءَمِنَٱلتَّعَفُّفِتَعْرِفُهُمبِسِيمَـٰهُمْلَايَسْـَٔلُونَٱلنَّاسَإِلْحَافًۭا ۗوَمَاتُنفِقُوا۟مِنْخَيْرٍۢفَإِنَّٱللَّهَبِهِۦعَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmunbihil-lahafa-innakhayrinmintunfiqūwamāil'ḥāfanl-nāsayasalūnalābisīmāhumtaʿrifuhuml-taʿafufiminaaghniyāal-jāhiluyaḥsabuhumul-arḍifīḍarbanyastaṭīʿūnalāl-lahisabīlifīuḥ'ṣirūalladhīnalil'fuqarāi
For the poorthose whoare wrapped upin(the) way(of) Allahnotthey are able(to) move aboutinthe earthThink (about) themthe ignorant one(that they are) self-sufficient(because) of(their) restraintyou recognize themby their markNot(do) they askthe peoplewith importunityAnd whateveryou spendofgoodthen indeedAllahof it(is) All-Knower
2:273
ٱلَّذِينَيُنفِقُونَأَمْوَٰلَهُمبِٱلَّيْلِوَٱلنَّهَارِسِرًّۭاوَعَلَانِيَةًۭفَلَهُمْأَجْرُهُمْعِندَرَبِّهِمْوَلَاخَوْفٌعَلَيْهِمْوَلَاهُمْيَحْزَنُونَ
yaḥzanūnahumwalāʿalayhimkhawfunwalārabbihimʿindaajruhumfalahumwaʿalāniyatansirranwal-nahāribi-al-layliamwālahumyunfiqūnaalladhīna
Those whospendtheir wealthby nightand daysecretlyand openlythen for them(is) their rewardwiththeir Lordand nofearon themand nottheywill grieve
2:274
ٱلَّذِينَيَأْكُلُونَٱلرِّبَوٰا۟لَايَقُومُونَإِلَّاكَمَايَقُومُٱلَّذِىيَتَخَبَّطُهُٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُمِنَٱلْمَسِّ ۚذَٰلِكَبِأَنَّهُمْقَالُوٓا۟إِنَّمَاٱلْبَيْعُمِثْلُٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ ۗوَأَحَلَّٱللَّهُٱلْبَيْعَوَحَرَّمَٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ ۚفَمَنجَآءَهُۥمَوْعِظَةٌۭمِّنرَّبِّهِۦفَٱنتَهَىٰفَلَهُۥمَاسَلَفَوَأَمْرُهُۥٓإِلَىٱللَّهِ ۖوَمَنْعَادَفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَأَصْحَـٰبُٱلنَّارِ ۖهُمْفِيهَاخَـٰلِدُونَ
khālidūnafīhāhuml-nāriaṣḥābufa-ulāikaʿādawamanl-lahiilāwa-amruhusalafamāfalahufa-intahārabbihiminmawʿiẓatunjāahufamanl-ribawaḥarramal-bayʿal-lahuwa-aḥallal-ribamith'lul-bayʿuinnamāqālūbi-annahumdhālikal-masiminal-shayṭānuyatakhabbaṭuhualladhīyaqūmukamāillāyaqūmūnalāl-ribayakulūnaalladhīna
Those whoconsume[the] usurynotthey can standexceptlikestandsthe one whoconfounds himthe Shaitaanwith(his) touchThat(is) because theysayOnlythe trade(is) like[the] usuryWhile has permittedAllah[the] tradebut (has) forbidden[the] usuryThen whoever comes to him(the) admonitionfromHis Lordand he refrainedthen for himwhat(has) passedand his case(is) withAllahand whoeverrepeatedthen those(are the) companions(of) the Firetheyin itwill abide forever
2:275
يَمْحَقُٱللَّهُٱلرِّبَوٰا۟وَيُرْبِىٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِ ۗوَٱللَّهُلَايُحِبُّكُلَّكَفَّارٍأَثِيمٍ
athīminkaffārinkullayuḥibbulāwal-lahul-ṣadaqātiwayur'bīl-ribal-lahuyamḥaqu
DestroysAllahthe usuryand (gives) increase(for) the charitiesAnd Allah(does) notloveeveryungratefulsinner
2:276
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟وَعَمِلُوا۟ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِوَأَقَامُوا۟ٱلصَّلَوٰةَوَءَاتَوُا۟ٱلزَّكَوٰةَلَهُمْأَجْرُهُمْعِندَرَبِّهِمْوَلَاخَوْفٌعَلَيْهِمْوَلَاهُمْيَحْزَنُونَ
yaḥzanūnahumwalāʿalayhimkhawfunwalārabbihimʿindaajruhumlahuml-zakatawaātawūl-ṣalatawa-aqāmūl-ṣāliḥātiwaʿamilūāmanūalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whobelieve[d]and didgood deedsand establishedthe prayerand gavethe zakahfor them their reward(is) withtheir Lordand nofearon themand nottheywill grieve
2:277
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟ٱتَّقُوا۟ٱللَّهَوَذَرُوا۟مَابَقِىَمِنَٱلرِّبَوٰٓا۟إِنكُنتُممُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīnakuntuminl-ribaminabaqiyamāwadharūl-lahaittaqūāmanūalladhīnayāayyuhā
O youwhobelieve[d]FearAllahand give upwhatremainedof[the] usuryifyou arebelievers
2:278
فَإِنلَّمْتَفْعَلُوا۟فَأْذَنُوا۟بِحَرْبٍۢمِّنَٱللَّهِوَرَسُولِهِۦ ۖوَإِنتُبْتُمْفَلَكُمْرُءُوسُأَمْوَٰلِكُمْلَاتَظْلِمُونَوَلَاتُظْلَمُونَ
tuẓ'lamūnawalātaẓlimūnalāamwālikumruūsufalakumtub'tumwa-inwarasūlihil-lahiminabiḥarbinfadhanūtafʿalūlamfa-in
And ifnotyou dothen be informedof a warfromAllahand His MessengerAnd ifyou repentthen for you(is)your capital (do) notwrongand notyou will be wronged
2:279
وَإِنكَانَذُوعُسْرَةٍۢفَنَظِرَةٌإِلَىٰمَيْسَرَةٍۢ ۚوَأَنتَصَدَّقُوا۟خَيْرٌۭلَّكُمْ ۖإِنكُنتُمْتَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūnakuntuminlakumkhayruntaṣaddaqūwa-anmaysaratinilāfanaẓiratunʿus'ratindhūkānawa-in
And ifisthe (debtor)in difficultythen postponementuntileaseAnd ifyou remit as charity(it is) betterfor youIfyouknow
2:280
وَٱتَّقُوا۟يَوْمًۭاتُرْجَعُونَفِيهِإِلَىٱللَّهِ ۖثُمَّتُوَفَّىٰكُلُّنَفْسٍۢمَّاكَسَبَتْوَهُمْلَايُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūnalāwahumkasabatmānafsinkullutuwaffāthummal-lahiilāfīhitur'jaʿūnayawmanwa-ittaqū
And feara Dayyou will be brought back[in it]toAllahThen(will be) repaid in fulleverysoulwhatit earnedand theynotwill be wronged
2:281
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوٓا۟إِذَاتَدَايَنتُمبِدَيْنٍإِلَىٰٓأَجَلٍۢمُّسَمًّۭىفَٱكْتُبُوهُ ۚوَلْيَكْتُببَّيْنَكُمْكَاتِبٌۢبِٱلْعَدْلِ ۚوَلَايَأْبَكَاتِبٌأَنيَكْتُبَكَمَاعَلَّمَهُٱللَّهُ ۚفَلْيَكْتُبْوَلْيُمْلِلِٱلَّذِىعَلَيْهِٱلْحَقُّوَلْيَتَّقِٱللَّهَرَبَّهُۥوَلَايَبْخَسْمِنْهُشَيْـًۭٔا ۚفَإِنكَانَٱلَّذِىعَلَيْهِٱلْحَقُّسَفِيهًاأَوْضَعِيفًاأَوْلَايَسْتَطِيعُأَنيُمِلَّهُوَفَلْيُمْلِلْوَلِيُّهُۥبِٱلْعَدْلِ ۚوَٱسْتَشْهِدُوا۟شَهِيدَيْنِمِنرِّجَالِكُمْ ۖفَإِنلَّمْيَكُونَارَجُلَيْنِفَرَجُلٌۭوَٱمْرَأَتَانِمِمَّنتَرْضَوْنَمِنَٱلشُّهَدَآءِأَنتَضِلَّإِحْدَىٰهُمَافَتُذَكِّرَإِحْدَىٰهُمَاٱلْأُخْرَىٰ ۚوَلَايَأْبَٱلشُّهَدَآءُإِذَامَادُعُوا۟ ۚوَلَاتَسْـَٔمُوٓا۟أَنتَكْتُبُوهُصَغِيرًاأَوْكَبِيرًاإِلَىٰٓأَجَلِهِۦ ۚذَٰلِكُمْأَقْسَطُعِندَٱللَّهِوَأَقْوَمُلِلشَّهَـٰدَةِوَأَدْنَىٰٓأَلَّاتَرْتَابُوٓا۟ ۖإِلَّآأَنتَكُونَتِجَـٰرَةًحَاضِرَةًۭتُدِيرُونَهَابَيْنَكُمْفَلَيْسَعَلَيْكُمْجُنَاحٌأَلَّاتَكْتُبُوهَا ۗوَأَشْهِدُوٓا۟إِذَاتَبَايَعْتُمْ ۚوَلَايُضَآرَّكَاتِبٌۭوَلَاشَهِيدٌۭ ۚوَإِنتَفْعَلُوا۟فَإِنَّهُۥفُسُوقٌۢبِكُمْ ۗوَٱتَّقُوا۟ٱللَّهَ ۖوَيُعَلِّمُكُمُٱللَّهُ ۗوَٱللَّهُبِكُلِّشَىْءٍعَلِيمٌۭ
ʿalīmunshayinbikulliwal-lahul-lahuwayuʿallimukumul-lahawa-ittaqūbikumfusūqunfa-innahutafʿalūwa-inshahīdunwalākātibunyuḍārrawalātabāyaʿtumidhāwa-ashhidūtaktubūhāallājunāḥunʿalaykumfalaysabaynakumtudīrūnahāḥāḍiratantijāratantakūnaanillātartābūallāwa-adnālilshahādatiwa-aqwamul-lahiʿindaaqsaṭudhālikumajalihiilākabīranawṣaghīrantaktubūhuantasamūwalāduʿūmāidhāl-shuhadāuyabawalāl-ukh'rāiḥ'dāhumāfatudhakkiraiḥ'dāhumātaḍillaanl-shuhadāiminatarḍawnamimmanwa-im'ra-atānifarajulunrajulayniyakūnālamfa-inrijālikumminshahīdayniwa-is'tashhidūbil-ʿadliwaliyyuhufalyum'lilhuwayumillaanyastaṭīʿulāawḍaʿīfanawsafīhanl-ḥaquʿalayhialladhīkānafa-inshayanmin'huyabkhaswalārabbahul-lahawalyattaqil-ḥaquʿalayhialladhīwalyum'lilifalyaktubl-lahuʿallamahukamāyaktubaankātibunyabawalābil-ʿadlikātibunbaynakumwalyaktubfa-uk'tubūhumusammanajalinilābidaynintadāyantumidhāāmanūalladhīnayāayyuhā
O youwhobelieve[d]Whenyou contract with one anotherany debtfora termfixedthen write itAnd let writebetween youa scribein justiceAnd not(should) refusea scribethathe writesas(has) taught himAllahSo let him writeand let dictatethe oneon whom(is) the rightand let him fearAllahhis Lordand (let him) notdiminishfrom itanythingThen ifisthe oneon him(is) the right(of) limited understandingorweakornotcapablethat(can) dictatehethen let dictatehis guardianwith justiceAnd call for evidencetwo witnessesamongyour menAnd ifnotthere aretwo menthen one manand two womenof whomyou agreeof[the] witnesses(so) that (if)[she] errsone of the twothen will remindone of the twothe otherAnd not(should) refusethe witnesseswhenthatthey are calledAnd not(be) wearythatyou write it smallorlargeforits termThat(is) more justnearAllahand more uprightfor evidenceand nearerthat notyou (have) doubtexceptthatbea transactionpresentyou carry outamong youthen noton youany sinthat notyou write itAnd take witnesswhenyou make commercial transactionAnd not(should) be harmed(the) scribeand not(the) witnessand ifyou dothen indeed it(is) sinful conductfor youand fearAllahAnd teachesAllahAnd Allahof everything(is) All-Knower
2:282
۞ وَإِنكُنتُمْعَلَىٰسَفَرٍۢوَلَمْتَجِدُوا۟كَاتِبًۭافَرِهَـٰنٌۭمَّقْبُوضَةٌۭ ۖفَإِنْأَمِنَبَعْضُكُمبَعْضًۭافَلْيُؤَدِّٱلَّذِىٱؤْتُمِنَأَمَـٰنَتَهُۥوَلْيَتَّقِٱللَّهَرَبَّهُۥ ۗوَلَاتَكْتُمُوا۟ٱلشَّهَـٰدَةَ ۚوَمَنيَكْتُمْهَافَإِنَّهُۥٓءَاثِمٌۭقَلْبُهُۥ ۗوَٱللَّهُبِمَاتَعْمَلُونَعَلِيمٌۭ
ʿalīmuntaʿmalūnabimāwal-lahuqalbuhuāthimunfa-innahuyaktum'hāwamanl-shahādatataktumūwalārabbahul-lahawalyattaqiamānatahuu'tuminaalladhīfalyu-addibaʿḍanbaʿḍukumaminafa-inmaqbūḍatunfarihānunkātibantajidūwalamsafarinʿalākuntumwa-in
And ifyou areona journeyand notyou finda scribethen pledgein handThen ifentrustsone of you(to) anotherthen let dischargethe one whois entrustedhis trustAnd let him fearAllahhis LordAnd (do) notconcealthe evidenceAnd whoeverconceals itthen indeed he(is) sinful his heartAnd Allahof whatyou do(is) All-Knower
2:283
لِّلَّهِمَافِىٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَمَافِىٱلْأَرْضِ ۗوَإِنتُبْدُوا۟مَافِىٓأَنفُسِكُمْأَوْتُخْفُوهُيُحَاسِبْكُمبِهِٱللَّهُ ۖفَيَغْفِرُلِمَنيَشَآءُوَيُعَذِّبُمَنيَشَآءُ ۗوَٱللَّهُعَلَىٰكُلِّشَىْءٍۢقَدِيرٌ
qadīrunshayinkulliʿalāwal-lahuyashāumanwayuʿadhibuyashāulimanfayaghfirul-lahubihiyuḥāsib'kumtukh'fūhuawanfusikumfīmātub'dūwa-inl-arḍifīwamāl-samāwātifīmālillahi
To Allah (belongs)whatever(is) inthe heavensand whatever(is) inthe earthAnd ifyou disclosewhat(is) inyourselvesoryou conceal itwill call you to accountfor itAllahThen, He will forgive[to] whomHe willsand He will punishwhomHe willsAnd Allahoneverything(is) All-Powerful
2:284
ءَامَنَٱلرَّسُولُبِمَآأُنزِلَإِلَيْهِمِنرَّبِّهِۦوَٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۚكُلٌّءَامَنَبِٱللَّهِوَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتِهِۦوَكُتُبِهِۦوَرُسُلِهِۦلَانُفَرِّقُبَيْنَأَحَدٍۢمِّنرُّسُلِهِۦ ۚوَقَالُوا۟سَمِعْنَاوَأَطَعْنَا ۖغُفْرَانَكَرَبَّنَاوَإِلَيْكَٱلْمَصِيرُ
l-maṣīruwa-ilaykarabbanāghuf'rānakawa-aṭaʿnāsamiʿ'nāwaqālūrusulihiminaḥadinbaynanufarriqulāwarusulihiwakutubihiwamalāikatihibil-lahiāmanakullunwal-mu'minūnarabbihiminilayhiunzilabimāl-rasūluāmana
Believedthe Messengerin whatwas revealedto himfromhis Lordand the believersAllbelievedin Allahand His Angelsand His Booksand His MessengersNotwe make distinctionbetweenanyofHis messengersAnd they saidWe heardand we obeyed(Grant) us Your forgivenessour Lordand to You(is) the return
2:285
لَايُكَلِّفُٱللَّهُنَفْسًاإِلَّاوُسْعَهَا ۚلَهَامَاكَسَبَتْوَعَلَيْهَامَاٱكْتَسَبَتْ ۗرَبَّنَالَاتُؤَاخِذْنَآإِننَّسِينَآأَوْأَخْطَأْنَا ۚرَبَّنَاوَلَاتَحْمِلْعَلَيْنَآإِصْرًۭاكَمَاحَمَلْتَهُۥعَلَىٱلَّذِينَمِنقَبْلِنَا ۚرَبَّنَاوَلَاتُحَمِّلْنَامَالَاطَاقَةَلَنَابِهِۦ ۖوَٱعْفُعَنَّاوَٱغْفِرْلَنَاوَٱرْحَمْنَآ ۚأَنتَمَوْلَىٰنَافَٱنصُرْنَاعَلَىٱلْقَوْمِٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnal-qawmiʿalāfa-unṣur'nāmawlānāantawa-ir'ḥamnālanāwa-igh'firʿannāwa-uʿ'fubihilanāṭāqatalāmātuḥammil'nāwalārabbanāqablināminalladhīnaʿalāḥamaltahukamāiṣ'ranʿalaynātaḥmilwalārabbanāakhṭanāawnasīnāintuākhidh'nālārabbanāik'tasabatmāwaʿalayhākasabatmālahāwus'ʿahāillānafsanl-lahuyukallifulā
(Does) notburdenAllahany soulexceptits capacityfor itwhatit earnedand against itwhatit earnedOur Lord(Do) nottake us to taskifwe forgetorwe errOur LordAnd (do) notlayupon usa burdenlike that(which) You laid [it]onthose who(were) frombefore usOur Lord[And] (do) notlay on uswhatnot(the) strengthwe have[of it] (to bear)And pardon[from] usand forgive[for] usand have mercy on usYou (are)our Protectorso help usagainstthe people [the] disbelievers

3:1
ٱللَّهُلَآإِلَـٰهَإِلَّاهُوَٱلْحَىُّٱلْقَيُّومُ
l-qayūmul-ḥayuhuwaillāilāhalāal-lahu
Allah (there is) noGodexceptHimthe Ever-Livingthe Sustainer of all that exists
3:2
نَزَّلَعَلَيْكَٱلْكِتَـٰبَبِٱلْحَقِّمُصَدِّقًۭالِّمَابَيْنَيَدَيْهِوَأَنزَلَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَوَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
wal-injīlal-tawrātawa-anzalayadayhibaynalimāmuṣaddiqanbil-ḥaqil-kitābaʿalaykanazzala
He revealedto youthe Bookin [the] truthconfirmingthat which(was)before itand He revealedthe Tauratand the Injeel
3:3
مِنقَبْلُهُدًۭىلِّلنَّاسِوَأَنزَلَٱلْفُرْقَانَ ۗإِنَّٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟بِـَٔايَـٰتِٱللَّهِلَهُمْعَذَابٌۭشَدِيدٌۭ ۗوَٱللَّهُعَزِيزٌۭذُوٱنتِقَامٍ
intiqāmindhūʿazīzunwal-lahushadīdunʿadhābunlahuml-lahibiāyātikafarūalladhīnainnal-fur'qānawa-anzalalilnnāsihudanqablumin
Frombefore (this)(as) guidancefor the mankindAnd (He) revealedthe CriterionVerilythose whodisbelieve[d]in (the) Verses(of) Allahfor them(is) a punishmentsevereAnd Allah(is) All-MightyAll-Able(of) retribution
3:4
إِنَّٱللَّهَلَايَخْفَىٰعَلَيْهِشَىْءٌۭفِىٱلْأَرْضِوَلَافِىٱلسَّمَآءِ
l-samāifīwalāl-arḍifīshayonʿalayhiyakhfālāl-lahainna
IndeedAllah notis hiddenfrom Himanythinginthe earthand notinthe heaven
3:5
هُوَٱلَّذِىيُصَوِّرُكُمْفِىٱلْأَرْحَامِكَيْفَيَشَآءُ ۚلَآإِلَـٰهَإِلَّاهُوَٱلْعَزِيزُٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmul-ʿazīzuhuwaillāilāhalāyashāukayfal-arḥāmifīyuṣawwirukumalladhīhuwa
He(is) the One Whoshapes youinthe wombshow(ever)He wills(There is) nogodexceptHimthe All-Mightythe All-Wise
3:6
هُوَٱلَّذِىٓأَنزَلَعَلَيْكَٱلْكِتَـٰبَمِنْهُءَايَـٰتٌۭمُّحْكَمَـٰتٌهُنَّأُمُّٱلْكِتَـٰبِوَأُخَرُمُتَشَـٰبِهَـٰتٌۭ ۖفَأَمَّاٱلَّذِينَفِىقُلُوبِهِمْزَيْغٌۭفَيَتَّبِعُونَمَاتَشَـٰبَهَمِنْهُٱبْتِغَآءَٱلْفِتْنَةِوَٱبْتِغَآءَتَأْوِيلِهِۦ ۗوَمَايَعْلَمُتَأْوِيلَهُۥٓإِلَّاٱللَّهُ ۗوَٱلرَّٰسِخُونَفِىٱلْعِلْمِيَقُولُونَءَامَنَّابِهِۦكُلٌّۭمِّنْعِندِرَبِّنَا ۗوَمَايَذَّكَّرُإِلَّآأُو۟لُوا۟ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ
l-albābiulūillāyadhakkaruwamārabbināʿindiminkullunbihiāmannāyaqūlūnal-ʿil'mifīwal-rāsikhūnal-lahuillātawīlahuyaʿlamuwamātawīlihiwa-ib'tighāal-fit'natiib'tighāamin'hutashābahamāfayattabiʿūnazayghunqulūbihimfīalladhīnafa-ammāmutashābihātunwa-ukharul-kitābiummuhunnamuḥ'kamātunāyātunmin'hul-kitābaʿalaykaanzalaalladhīhuwa
He(is) the One Whorevealedto youthe Bookof it(are) Versesabsolutely clear they (are)the foundation(of) the Bookand others(are) allegoricalThen as forthoseintheir hearts(is) perversity [so] they followwhat(is) allegoricalof itseeking[the] discordand seekingits interpretationAnd notknowsits interpretationexceptAllahAnd those firmin[the] knowledgethey sayWe believein itAll(is)fromour LordAnd notwill take heedexceptmen(of) understanding
3:7
رَبَّنَالَاتُزِغْقُلُوبَنَابَعْدَإِذْهَدَيْتَنَاوَهَبْلَنَامِنلَّدُنكَرَحْمَةً ۚإِنَّكَأَنتَٱلْوَهَّابُ
l-wahābuantainnakaraḥmatanladunkaminlanāwahabhadaytanāidhbaʿdaqulūbanātuzighlārabbanā
Our Lord(Do) notdeviateour heartsafter[when]You (have) guided usand grant(for) usfromYourselfmercyIndeed YouYou(are) the Bestower
3:8
رَبَّنَآإِنَّكَجَامِعُٱلنَّاسِلِيَوْمٍۢلَّارَيْبَفِيهِ ۚإِنَّٱللَّهَلَايُخْلِفُٱلْمِيعَادَ
l-mīʿādayukh'lifulāl-lahainnafīhiraybalāliyawminl-nāsijāmiʿuinnakarabbanā
Our LordIndeed, Youwill gather[the] mankindon a Day(there is) nodoubtin itIndeedAllah(does) notbreakthe Promise
3:9
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟لَنتُغْنِىَعَنْهُمْأَمْوَٰلُهُمْوَلَآأَوْلَـٰدُهُممِّنَٱللَّهِشَيْـًۭٔا ۖوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَهُمْوَقُودُٱلنَّارِ
l-nāriwaqūduhumwa-ulāikashayanl-lahiminaawlāduhumwalāamwāluhumʿanhumtugh'niyalankafarūalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whodisbelieve[d]neverwill avail[for] themtheir wealthand nottheir childrenagainstAllahanythingand those they (are)(the) fuel(for) the Fire
3:10
كَدَأْبِءَالِفِرْعَوْنَوَٱلَّذِينَمِنقَبْلِهِمْ ۚكَذَّبُوا۟بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَافَأَخَذَهُمُٱللَّهُبِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗوَٱللَّهُشَدِيدُٱلْعِقَابِ
l-ʿiqābishadīduwal-lahubidhunūbihiml-lahufa-akhadhahumubiāyātinākadhabūqablihimminwa-alladhīnafir'ʿawnaālikadabi
Like behavior(of the) people(of) Firaunand those who(were) frombefore themThey deniedOur Signsso seized themAllahfor their sinsAnd Allah(is) severe(in) [the] punishment
3:11
قُللِّلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟سَتُغْلَبُونَوَتُحْشَرُونَإِلَىٰجَهَنَّمَ ۚوَبِئْسَٱلْمِهَادُ
l-mihāduwabi'sajahannamailāwatuḥ'sharūnasatugh'labūnakafarūlilladhīnaqul
Sayto those whodisbelieve[d]You will be overcomeand you will be gatheredtoHell[and] an evil[the] resting place
3:12
قَدْكَانَلَكُمْءَايَةٌۭفِىفِئَتَيْنِٱلْتَقَتَا ۖفِئَةٌۭتُقَـٰتِلُفِىسَبِيلِٱللَّهِوَأُخْرَىٰكَافِرَةٌۭيَرَوْنَهُممِّثْلَيْهِمْرَأْىَٱلْعَيْنِ ۚوَٱللَّهُيُؤَيِّدُبِنَصْرِهِۦمَنيَشَآءُ ۗإِنَّفِىذَٰلِكَلَعِبْرَةًۭلِّأُو۟لِىٱلْأَبْصَـٰرِ
l-abṣārili-ulīlaʿib'ratandhālikafīinnayashāumanbinaṣrihiyu-ayyiduwal-lahul-ʿaynirayamith'layhimyarawnahumkāfiratunwa-ukh'rāl-lahisabīlifītuqātilufi-atunl-taqatāfi-ataynifīāyatunlakumkānaqad
Surelyit wasfor youa signin(the) two hostswhich met one groupfightingin(the) way(of) Allahand anotherdisbelieversThey were seeing themtwice of themwith the sight(of) their eyesAnd Allahsupportswith His helpwhomHe willsIndeedinthatsurely (is) a lessonfor the owners(of) vision
3:13
زُيِّنَلِلنَّاسِحُبُّٱلشَّهَوَٰتِمِنَٱلنِّسَآءِوَٱلْبَنِينَوَٱلْقَنَـٰطِيرِٱلْمُقَنطَرَةِمِنَٱلذَّهَبِوَٱلْفِضَّةِوَٱلْخَيْلِٱلْمُسَوَّمَةِوَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِوَٱلْحَرْثِ ۗذَٰلِكَمَتَـٰعُٱلْحَيَوٰةِٱلدُّنْيَا ۖوَٱللَّهُعِندَهُۥحُسْنُٱلْمَـَٔابِ
l-maābiḥus'nuʿindahuwal-lahul-dun'yāl-ḥayatimatāʿudhālikawal-ḥarthiwal-anʿāmil-musawamatiwal-khayliwal-fiḍatil-dhahabiminal-muqanṭaratiwal-qanāṭīriwal-banīnal-nisāiminal-shahawātiḥubbulilnnāsizuyyina
Beautifiedfor mankind(is) love(of) the (things they) desire of[the] womenand [the] sonsand [the] heaps[the] stored upof[the] goldand [the] silverand [the] horses[the] brandedand [the] cattleand [the] tilled landThat(is) provision(of) life(of) the worldbut Allah with Him(is an) excellent[the] abode to return
3:14
۞ قُلْأَؤُنَبِّئُكُمبِخَيْرٍۢمِّنذَٰلِكُمْ ۚلِلَّذِينَٱتَّقَوْا۟عِندَرَبِّهِمْجَنَّـٰتٌۭتَجْرِىمِنتَحْتِهَاٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُخَـٰلِدِينَفِيهَاوَأَزْوَٰجٌۭمُّطَهَّرَةٌۭوَرِضْوَٰنٌۭمِّنَٱللَّهِ ۗوَٱللَّهُبَصِيرٌۢبِٱلْعِبَادِ
bil-ʿibādibaṣīrunwal-lahul-lahiminawariḍ'wānunmuṭahharatunwa-azwājunfīhākhālidīnal-anhārutaḥtihāmintajrījannātunrabbihimʿindaittaqawlilladhīnadhālikumminbikhayrina-unabbi-ukumqul
SayShall I inform youof betterthanthatFor those whofear[ed]withtheir Lord(are) Gardensflowsfromunderneath them[the] rivers abiding foreverin itand spousespureand approvalfromAllahAnd Allah(is) All-Seerof (His) slaves
3:15
ٱلَّذِينَيَقُولُونَرَبَّنَآإِنَّنَآءَامَنَّافَٱغْفِرْلَنَاذُنُوبَنَاوَقِنَاعَذَابَٱلنَّارِ
l-nāriʿadhābawaqinādhunūbanālanāfa-igh'firāmannāinnanārabbanāyaqūlūnaalladhīna
Those whosayOur LordIndeed, we(have) believedso forgivefor usour sinsand save us(from) punishment(of) the Fire
3:16
ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَوَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَوَٱلْقَـٰنِتِينَوَٱلْمُنفِقِينَوَٱلْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَبِٱلْأَسْحَارِ
bil-asḥāriwal-mus'taghfirīnawal-munfiqīnawal-qānitīnawal-ṣādiqīnaal-ṣābirīna
The patientand the truthfuland the obedientand those who spendand those who seek forgiveness[in the] before dawn
3:17
شَهِدَٱللَّهُأَنَّهُۥلَآإِلَـٰهَإِلَّاهُوَوَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُوَأُو۟لُوا۟ٱلْعِلْمِقَآئِمًۢابِٱلْقِسْطِ ۚلَآإِلَـٰهَإِلَّاهُوَٱلْعَزِيزُٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmul-ʿazīzuhuwaillāilāhalābil-qis'ṭiqāimanl-ʿil'miwa-ulūwal-malāikatuhuwaillāilāhalāannahul-lahushahida
Bears witnessAllahthat [He](there is) nogodexceptHimand (so do) the Angelsand owners(of) [the] knowledge standingin justice(There is) nogodexceptHimthe All-Mightythe All-Wise
3:18
إِنَّٱلدِّينَعِندَٱللَّهِٱلْإِسْلَـٰمُ ۗوَمَاٱخْتَلَفَٱلَّذِينَأُوتُوا۟ٱلْكِتَـٰبَإِلَّامِنۢبَعْدِمَاجَآءَهُمُٱلْعِلْمُبَغْيًۢابَيْنَهُمْ ۗوَمَنيَكْفُرْبِـَٔايَـٰتِٱللَّهِفَإِنَّٱللَّهَسَرِيعُٱلْحِسَابِ
l-ḥisābisarīʿul-lahafa-innal-lahibiāyātiyakfurwamanbaynahumbaghyanl-ʿil'mujāahumumābaʿdiminillāl-kitābaūtūalladhīnaikh'talafawamāl-is'lāmul-lahiʿindal-dīnainna
Indeedthe religionnearAllah(is) IslamAnd notdifferedthose whowere giventhe Bookexceptfromafter[what]came to them[the] knowledgeout of envyamong themAnd whoeverdisbelievesin (the) Verses(of) Allahthen indeedAllah(is) swift(in taking) account
3:19
فَإِنْحَآجُّوكَفَقُلْأَسْلَمْتُوَجْهِىَلِلَّهِوَمَنِٱتَّبَعَنِ ۗوَقُللِّلَّذِينَأُوتُوا۟ٱلْكِتَـٰبَوَٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚفَإِنْأَسْلَمُوا۟فَقَدِٱهْتَدَوا۟ ۖوَّإِنتَوَلَّوْا۟فَإِنَّمَاعَلَيْكَٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ۗوَٱللَّهُبَصِيرٌۢبِٱلْعِبَادِ
bil-ʿibādibaṣīrunwal-lahul-balāghuʿalaykafa-innamātawallawwa-inih'tadawfaqadiaslamūfa-ina-aslamtumwal-umiyīnal-kitābaūtūlilladhīnawaqulittabaʿaniwamanilillahiwajhiyaaslamtufaqulḥājjūkafa-in
Then ifthey argue with youthen sayI have submittedmyselfto Allahand (those) whofollow meAnd sayto those whowere giventhe Bookand the unlettered peopleHave you submitted yourselvesThen ifthey submitthen surelythey are guidedBut ifthey turn backthen onlyon you(is) to [the] conveyAnd Allah(is) All-Seerof [His] slaves
3:20
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَيَكْفُرُونَبِـَٔايَـٰتِٱللَّهِوَيَقْتُلُونَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَبِغَيْرِحَقٍّۢوَيَقْتُلُونَٱلَّذِينَيَأْمُرُونَبِٱلْقِسْطِمِنَٱلنَّاسِفَبَشِّرْهُمبِعَذَابٍأَلِيمٍ
alīminbiʿadhābinfabashir'huml-nāsiminabil-qis'ṭiyamurūnaalladhīnawayaqtulūnaḥaqqinbighayril-nabiyīnawayaqtulūnal-lahibiāyātiyakfurūnaalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whodisbelievein (the) Signs (of)Allahand they killthe Prophetswithoutrightand they killthose whoorder[with] justiceamongthe peoplethen give them tidingsof a punishmentpainful
3:21
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَٱلَّذِينَحَبِطَتْأَعْمَـٰلُهُمْفِىٱلدُّنْيَاوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِوَمَالَهُممِّننَّـٰصِرِينَ
nāṣirīnaminlahumwamāwal-ākhiratil-dun'yāfīaʿmāluhumḥabiṭatalladhīnaulāika
Those(are) the ones who became worthlesstheir deedsinthe worldand (in) the HereafterAnd not(will be) for themanyhelpers
3:22
أَلَمْتَرَإِلَىٱلَّذِينَأُوتُوا۟نَصِيبًۭامِّنَٱلْكِتَـٰبِيُدْعَوْنَإِلَىٰكِتَـٰبِٱللَّهِلِيَحْكُمَبَيْنَهُمْثُمَّيَتَوَلَّىٰفَرِيقٌۭمِّنْهُمْوَهُممُّعْرِضُونَ
muʿ'riḍūnawahummin'humfarīqunyatawallāthummabaynahumliyaḥkumal-lahikitābiilāyud'ʿawnal-kitābiminanaṣībanūtūalladhīnailātaraalam
Have notyou seen[to]those whowere givena portionofthe ScriptureThey are invitedto(the) Book(of) Allahthat (it should) arbitratebetween themthenturns awaya partyof themand they (are)those who are averse
3:23
ذَٰلِكَبِأَنَّهُمْقَالُوا۟لَنتَمَسَّنَاٱلنَّارُإِلَّآأَيَّامًۭامَّعْدُودَٰتٍۢ ۖوَغَرَّهُمْفِىدِينِهِممَّاكَانُوا۟يَفْتَرُونَ
yaftarūnakānūmādīnihimfīwagharrahummaʿdūdātinayyāmanillāl-nārutamassanālanqālūbi-annahumdhālika
That(is) because theysayNeverwill touch usthe Fireexcept(for) daysnumberedAnd deceived themintheir religionwhatthey wereinventing
3:24
فَكَيْفَإِذَاجَمَعْنَـٰهُمْلِيَوْمٍۢلَّارَيْبَفِيهِوَوُفِّيَتْكُلُّنَفْسٍۢمَّاكَسَبَتْوَهُمْلَايُظْلَمُونَ
yuẓ'lamūnalāwahumkasabatmānafsinkulluwawuffiyatfīhiraybalāliyawminjamaʿnāhumidhāfakayfa
Then how (will it be)whenWe will gather themon a Day nodoubtin itAnd will be paid in fulleverysoulwhatit earnedand they(will) notbe wronged
3:25
قُلِٱللَّهُمَّمَـٰلِكَٱلْمُلْكِتُؤْتِىٱلْمُلْكَمَنتَشَآءُوَتَنزِعُٱلْمُلْكَمِمَّنتَشَآءُوَتُعِزُّمَنتَشَآءُوَتُذِلُّمَنتَشَآءُ ۖبِيَدِكَٱلْخَيْرُ ۖإِنَّكَعَلَىٰكُلِّشَىْءٍۢقَدِيرٌۭ
qadīrunshayinkulliʿalāinnakal-khayrubiyadikatashāumanwatudhillutashāumanwatuʿizzutashāumimmanl-mul'kawatanziʿutashāumanl-mul'katu'tīl-mul'kimālikal-lahumaquli
SayO AllahOwner(of) the DominionYou givethe dominion(to) whomYou willand You take awaythe dominionfrom whomYou willand You honorwhomYou willand You humiliatewhomYou willIn Your hand(is all) the goodIndeed, You(are) oneverythingAll-Powerful
3:26
تُولِجُٱلَّيْلَفِىٱلنَّهَارِوَتُولِجُٱلنَّهَارَفِىٱلَّيْلِ ۖوَتُخْرِجُٱلْحَىَّمِنَٱلْمَيِّتِوَتُخْرِجُٱلْمَيِّتَمِنَٱلْحَىِّ ۖوَتَرْزُقُمَنتَشَآءُبِغَيْرِحِسَابٍۢ
ḥisābinbighayritashāumanwatarzuqul-ḥayiminal-mayitawatukh'rijul-mayitiminal-ḥayawatukh'rijual-laylifīl-nahārawatūlijul-nahārifīal-laylatūliju
You cause to enterthe nightinthe dayand You cause to enterthe dayinthe nightand You bring forththe livingfromthe deadand You bring forththe deadfromthe livingand You give provision(to) whomYou willwithoutmeasure
3:27
لَّايَتَّخِذِٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَأَوْلِيَآءَمِندُونِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖوَمَنيَفْعَلْذَٰلِكَفَلَيْسَمِنَٱللَّهِفِىشَىْءٍإِلَّآأَنتَتَّقُوا۟مِنْهُمْتُقَىٰةًۭ ۗوَيُحَذِّرُكُمُٱللَّهُنَفْسَهُۥ ۗوَإِلَىٱللَّهِٱلْمَصِيرُ
l-maṣīrul-lahiwa-ilānafsahul-lahuwayuḥadhirukumutuqātanmin'humtattaqūanillāshayinfīl-lahiminafalaysadhālikayafʿalwamanl-mu'minīnadūniminawliyāal-kāfirīnal-mu'minūnayattakhidhilā
(Let) nottakethe believersthe disbelievers(as) alliesfrominstead ofthe believersAnd whoeverdoesthatthen not he (has)fromAllahinanythingexceptthatyou fearfrom them(as) a precautionAnd warns youAllah(of) Himselfand toAllah(is) the final return
3:28
قُلْإِنتُخْفُوا۟مَافِىصُدُورِكُمْأَوْتُبْدُوهُيَعْلَمْهُٱللَّهُ ۗوَيَعْلَمُمَافِىٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَمَافِىٱلْأَرْضِ ۗوَٱللَّهُعَلَىٰكُلِّشَىْءٍۢقَدِيرٌۭ
qadīrunshayinkulliʿalāwal-lahul-arḍifīwamāl-samāwātifīmāwayaʿlamul-lahuyaʿlamhutub'dūhuawṣudūrikumfīmātukh'fūinqul
SayWhetheryou concealwhat(is) inyour breastsoryou disclose it knows itAllahAnd He knowswhat(is) inthe heavensand what(is) inthe earthAnd Allah(is) oneverythingAll-Powerful
3:29
يَوْمَتَجِدُكُلُّنَفْسٍۢمَّاعَمِلَتْمِنْخَيْرٍۢمُّحْضَرًۭاوَمَاعَمِلَتْمِنسُوٓءٍۢتَوَدُّلَوْأَنَّبَيْنَهَاوَبَيْنَهُۥٓأَمَدًۢابَعِيدًۭا ۗوَيُحَذِّرُكُمُٱللَّهُنَفْسَهُۥ ۗوَٱللَّهُرَءُوفٌۢبِٱلْعِبَادِ
bil-ʿibādiraūfunwal-lahunafsahul-lahuwayuḥadhirukumubaʿīdanamadanwabaynahubaynahāannalawtawaddusūinminʿamilatwamāmuḥ'ḍarankhayrinminʿamilatmānafsinkullutajiduyawma
(On the) daywill findeverysoulwhatit didofgood presentedand whatit didofevilit will wish[if]thatbetween itselfand between it (evil)(was) a distancegreatAnd warns youAllah(against) Himselfand Allah(is) Most Kindto (His) [the] slaves
3:30
قُلْإِنكُنتُمْتُحِبُّونَٱللَّهَفَٱتَّبِعُونِىيُحْبِبْكُمُٱللَّهُوَيَغْفِرْلَكُمْذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗوَٱللَّهُغَفُورٌۭرَّحِيمٌۭ
raḥīmunghafūrunwal-lahudhunūbakumlakumwayaghfirl-lahuyuḥ'bib'kumufa-ittabiʿūnīl-lahatuḥibbūnakuntuminqul
SayIfyouloveAllahthen follow mewill love youAllahand He will forgivefor youyour sinsAnd Allah(is) Oft-ForgivingMost Merciful
3:31
قُلْأَطِيعُوا۟ٱللَّهَوَٱلرَّسُولَ ۖفَإِنتَوَلَّوْا۟فَإِنَّٱللَّهَلَايُحِبُّٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
l-kāfirīnayuḥibbulāl-lahafa-innatawallawfa-inwal-rasūlal-lahaaṭīʿūqul
SayObeyAllahand the MessengerThen ifthey turn away then indeedAllah(does) notlovethe disbelievers
3:32
۞ إِنَّٱللَّهَٱصْطَفَىٰٓءَادَمَوَنُوحًۭاوَءَالَإِبْرَٰهِيمَوَءَالَعِمْرَٰنَعَلَىٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīnaʿalāʿim'rānawaālaib'rāhīmawaālawanūḥanādamaiṣ'ṭafāl-lahainna
IndeedAllahchoseAdamand Nuhand (the) family(of) Ibrahimand (the) family(of) Imranoverthe worlds
3:33
ذُرِّيَّةًۢبَعْضُهَامِنۢبَعْضٍۢ ۗوَٱللَّهُسَمِيعٌعَلِيمٌ
ʿalīmunsamīʿunwal-lahubaʿḍinminbaʿḍuhādhurriyyatan
Descendentssome of themfromothersAnd Allah(is) All-HearingAll-Knowing
3:34
إِذْقَالَتِٱمْرَأَتُعِمْرَٰنَرَبِّإِنِّىنَذَرْتُلَكَمَافِىبَطْنِىمُحَرَّرًۭافَتَقَبَّلْمِنِّىٓ ۖإِنَّكَأَنتَٱلسَّمِيعُٱلْعَلِيمُ
l-ʿalīmul-samīʿuantainnakaminnīfataqabbalmuḥarraranbaṭnīfīmālakanadhartuinnīrabbiʿim'rānaim'ra-atuqālatiidh
When[she] said(the) wife(of) ImranMy LordIndeed, I[I] vowedto Youwhat(is) inmy wombdedicatedso acceptfrom meIndeed, YouYou(are) the All-Hearingthe All-Knowing
3:35
فَلَمَّاوَضَعَتْهَاقَالَتْرَبِّإِنِّىوَضَعْتُهَآأُنثَىٰوَٱللَّهُأَعْلَمُبِمَاوَضَعَتْوَلَيْسَٱلذَّكَرُكَٱلْأُنثَىٰ ۖوَإِنِّىسَمَّيْتُهَامَرْيَمَوَإِنِّىٓأُعِيذُهَابِكَوَذُرِّيَّتَهَامِنَٱلشَّيْطَـٰنِٱلرَّجِيمِ
l-rajīmil-shayṭāniminawadhurriyyatahābikauʿīdhuhāwa-innīmaryamasammaytuhāwa-innīkal-unthāl-dhakaruwalaysawaḍaʿatbimāaʿlamuwal-lahuunthāwaḍaʿtuhāinnīrabbiqālatwaḍaʿathāfalammā
Then whenshe delivered hershe saidMy Lordindeed I[I] (have) delivered [her]a femaleAnd Allahknows better[of] whatshe deliveredand is notthe malelike the femaleAnd that I[I] (have) named herMaryamand that I[I] seek refuge for herin Youand her offspringfromthe Shaitaanthe rejected
3:36
فَتَقَبَّلَهَارَبُّهَابِقَبُولٍحَسَنٍۢوَأَنۢبَتَهَانَبَاتًاحَسَنًۭاوَكَفَّلَهَازَكَرِيَّا ۖكُلَّمَادَخَلَعَلَيْهَازَكَرِيَّاٱلْمِحْرَابَوَجَدَعِندَهَارِزْقًۭا ۖقَالَيَـٰمَرْيَمُأَنَّىٰلَكِهَـٰذَا ۖقَالَتْهُوَمِنْعِندِٱللَّهِ ۖإِنَّٱللَّهَيَرْزُقُمَنيَشَآءُبِغَيْرِحِسَابٍ
ḥisābinbighayriyashāumanyarzuqul-lahainnal-lahiʿindiminhuwaqālathādhālakiannāyāmaryamuqālariz'qanʿindahāwajadal-miḥ'rābazakariyyāʿalayhādakhalakullamāzakariyyāwakaffalahāḥasanannabātanwa-anbatahāḥasaninbiqabūlinrabbuhāfataqabbalahā
So accepted herher Lordwith acceptancegoodand reared her a rearinggoodand put her in (the) care(of) ZakariyaWheneverenteredupon herZakariya[the] prayer chamberhe foundwith herprovisionHe saidO MaryamFrom wherefor you(is) thisShe saidThis(is)fromAllahIndeedAllahgives provision(to) whomHe willswithoutmeasure
3:37
هُنَالِكَدَعَازَكَرِيَّارَبَّهُۥ ۖقَالَرَبِّهَبْلِىمِنلَّدُنكَذُرِّيَّةًۭطَيِّبَةً ۖإِنَّكَسَمِيعُٱلدُّعَآءِ
l-duʿāisamīʿuinnakaṭayyibatandhurriyyatanladunkaminlīhabrabbiqālarabbahuzakariyyādaʿāhunālika
There onlyinvokedZakariyahis Lordhe saidMy Lordgrant[for] mefromYourselfoffspringpureIndeed, You(are) All-Hearer(of) the prayer
3:38
فَنَادَتْهُٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُوَهُوَقَآئِمٌۭيُصَلِّىفِىٱلْمِحْرَابِأَنَّٱللَّهَيُبَشِّرُكَبِيَحْيَىٰمُصَدِّقًۢابِكَلِمَةٍۢمِّنَٱللَّهِوَسَيِّدًۭاوَحَصُورًۭاوَنَبِيًّۭامِّنَٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīnaminawanabiyyanwaḥaṣūranwasayyidanl-lahiminabikalimatinmuṣaddiqanbiyaḥyāyubashirukal-lahaannal-miḥ'rābifīyuṣallīqāimunwahuwal-malāikatufanādathu
Then called himthe Angelswhen he(was) standing prayinginthe prayer chamberIndeedAllahgives you glad tidingsof Yahyaconfirming[of] a WordfromAllahand a nobleand chasteand a Prophetamongthe righteous
3:39
قَالَرَبِّأَنَّىٰيَكُونُلِىغُلَـٰمٌۭوَقَدْبَلَغَنِىَٱلْكِبَرُوَٱمْرَأَتِىعَاقِرٌۭ ۖقَالَكَذَٰلِكَٱللَّهُيَفْعَلُمَايَشَآءُ
yashāumāyafʿalul-lahukadhālikaqālaʿāqirunwa-im'ra-atīl-kibarubalaghaniyawaqadghulāmunlīyakūnuannārabbiqāla
He saidMy Lordhowcan (there) befor mea sonand verilyhas reached me[the] old ageand my wife(is) [a] barrenHe saidThusAllahdoeswhatHe wills
3:40
قَالَرَبِّٱجْعَللِّىٓءَايَةًۭ ۖقَالَءَايَتُكَأَلَّاتُكَلِّمَٱلنَّاسَثَلَـٰثَةَأَيَّامٍإِلَّارَمْزًۭا ۗوَٱذْكُررَّبَّكَكَثِيرًۭاوَسَبِّحْبِٱلْعَشِىِّوَٱلْإِبْكَـٰرِ
wal-ib'kāribil-ʿashiyiwasabbiḥkathīranrabbakawa-udh'kurramzanillāayyāminthalāthatal-nāsatukallimaallāāyatukaqālaāyatanlīij'ʿalrabbiqāla
He saidMy Lordmakefor mea signHe saidyour sign(is) that notyou will speak(to) the people(for) threedaysexcept(with) gesturesAnd rememberyour Lordmuchand glorify (Him)in the eveningand (in) the morning
3:41
وَإِذْقَالَتِٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُيَـٰمَرْيَمُإِنَّٱللَّهَٱصْطَفَىٰكِوَطَهَّرَكِوَٱصْطَفَىٰكِعَلَىٰنِسَآءِٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
l-ʿālamīnanisāiʿalāwa-iṣ'ṭafākiwaṭahharakiiṣ'ṭafākil-lahainnayāmaryamul-malāikatuqālatiwa-idh
And whensaidthe AngelsO MaryamIndeedAllah(has) chosen youand purified youand chosen youover(the) women(of) the worlds
3:42
يَـٰمَرْيَمُٱقْنُتِىلِرَبِّكِوَٱسْجُدِىوَٱرْكَعِىمَعَٱلرَّٰكِعِينَ
l-rākiʿīnamaʿawa-ir'kaʿīwa-us'judīlirabbikiuq'nutīyāmaryamu
O MaryamBe obedientto your Lordand prostrateand bow downwiththose who bow down
3:43
ذَٰلِكَمِنْأَنۢبَآءِٱلْغَيْبِنُوحِيهِإِلَيْكَ ۚوَمَاكُنتَلَدَيْهِمْإِذْيُلْقُونَأَقْلَـٰمَهُمْأَيُّهُمْيَكْفُلُمَرْيَمَوَمَاكُنتَلَدَيْهِمْإِذْيَخْتَصِمُونَ
yakhtaṣimūnaidhladayhimkuntawamāmaryamayakfuluayyuhumaqlāmahumyul'qūnaidhladayhimkuntawamāilaykanūḥīhil-ghaybianbāimindhālika
That(is) from(the) news(of) the unseen We reveal itto youAnd notyou werewith themwhenthey casttheir pens(as to) which of themtakes charge (of)Maryamand notyou werewith themwhenthey (were) disputing
3:44
إِذْقَالَتِٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُيَـٰمَرْيَمُإِنَّٱللَّهَيُبَشِّرُكِبِكَلِمَةٍۢمِّنْهُٱسْمُهُٱلْمَسِيحُعِيسَىٱبْنُمَرْيَمَوَجِيهًۭافِىٱلدُّنْيَاوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِوَمِنَٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
l-muqarabīnawaminawal-ākhiratil-dun'yāfīwajīhanmaryamaub'nuʿīsāl-masīḥuus'muhumin'hubikalimatinyubashirukil-lahainnayāmaryamul-malāikatuqālatiidh
Whensaidthe AngelsO MaryamIndeedAllahgives you glad tidingsof a wordfrom Himhis name(is) the MessiahIsason(of) Maryamhonoredinthe worldand (in) the Hereafterand ofthose brought near (to Allah)
3:45
وَيُكَلِّمُٱلنَّاسَفِىٱلْمَهْدِوَكَهْلًۭاوَمِنَٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
l-ṣāliḥīnawaminawakahlanl-mahdifīl-nāsawayukallimu
And he will speak(to) the peopleinthe cradleand (in) maturityand (he will be) ofthe righteous
3:46
قَالَتْرَبِّأَنَّىٰيَكُونُلِىوَلَدٌۭوَلَمْيَمْسَسْنِىبَشَرٌۭ ۖقَالَكَذَٰلِكِٱللَّهُيَخْلُقُمَايَشَآءُ ۚإِذَاقَضَىٰٓأَمْرًۭافَإِنَّمَايَقُولُلَهُۥكُنفَيَكُونُ
fayakūnukunlahuyaqūlufa-innamāamranqaḍāidhāyashāumāyakhluqul-lahukadhālikiqālabasharunyamsasnīwalamwaladunlīyakūnuannārabbiqālat
She saidMy Lordhowis [it]for mea boyand (has) nottouch(ed) meany manHe saidThusAllahcreateswhatHe willsWhenHe decreesa matterthen onlyHe saysto itBeand it becomes
3:47
وَيُعَلِّمُهُٱلْكِتَـٰبَوَٱلْحِكْمَةَوَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةَوَٱلْإِنجِيلَ
wal-injīlawal-tawrātawal-ḥik'matal-kitābawayuʿallimuhu
And He will teach himthe Bookand [the] wisdomand the Tauratand the Injeel
3:48
وَرَسُولًاإِلَىٰبَنِىٓإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَأَنِّىقَدْجِئْتُكُمبِـَٔايَةٍۢمِّنرَّبِّكُمْ ۖأَنِّىٓأَخْلُقُلَكُممِّنَٱلطِّينِكَهَيْـَٔةِٱلطَّيْرِفَأَنفُخُفِيهِفَيَكُونُطَيْرًۢابِإِذْنِٱللَّهِ ۖوَأُبْرِئُٱلْأَكْمَهَوَٱلْأَبْرَصَوَأُحْىِٱلْمَوْتَىٰبِإِذْنِٱللَّهِ ۖوَأُنَبِّئُكُمبِمَاتَأْكُلُونَوَمَاتَدَّخِرُونَفِىبُيُوتِكُمْ ۚإِنَّفِىذَٰلِكَلَـَٔايَةًۭلَّكُمْإِنكُنتُممُّؤْمِنِينَ
mu'minīnakuntuminlakumlaāyatandhālikafīinnabuyūtikumfītaddakhirūnawamātakulūnabimāwa-unabbi-ukuml-lahibi-idh'nil-mawtāwa-uḥ'yīwal-abraṣal-akmahawa-ub'ri-ul-lahibi-idh'niṭayranfayakūnufīhifa-anfukhul-ṭayrikahayatil-ṭīniminalakumakhluquannīrabbikumminbiāyatinji'tukumqadannīis'rāīlabanīilāwarasūlan
And (make him) a Messengerto(the) Children(of) IsraelIndeed, I[surely][I] (have) come (to) youwith a signfromyour Lordthat I[I] designfor youfrom[the] claylike the form(of) the birdthen I breathinto itand it becomesa birdby (the) permission(of) AllahAnd I curethe blindand the leperand I give life(to) the deadby (the) permission(of) AllahAnd I inform youof whatyou eatand whatyou storeinyour housesIndeedinthat(is) surely a signfor youifyou arebelievers
3:49
وَمُصَدِّقًۭالِّمَابَيْنَيَدَىَّمِنَٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِوَلِأُحِلَّلَكُمبَعْضَٱلَّذِىحُرِّمَعَلَيْكُمْ ۚوَجِئْتُكُمبِـَٔايَةٍۢمِّنرَّبِّكُمْفَٱتَّقُوا۟ٱللَّهَوَأَطِيعُونِ
wa-aṭīʿūnil-lahafa-ittaqūrabbikumminbiāyatinwaji'tukumʿalaykumḥurrimaalladhībaʿḍalakumwali-uḥillal-tawrātiminayadayyabaynalimāwamuṣaddiqan
And confirmingthat which(was)before meofthe Tauratand so that I make lawfulfor yousome(of) that whichwas forbiddento youAnd I (have) come to youwith a signfromyour LordSo fearAllahand obey me
3:50
إِنَّٱللَّهَرَبِّىوَرَبُّكُمْفَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۗهَـٰذَاصِرَٰطٌۭمُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ
mus'taqīmunṣirāṭunhādhāfa-uʿ'budūhuwarabbukumrabbīl-lahainna
IndeedAllah(is) my Lordand your Lordso worship HimThis(is) the pathstraight
3:51
۞ فَلَمَّآأَحَسَّعِيسَىٰمِنْهُمُٱلْكُفْرَقَالَمَنْأَنصَارِىٓإِلَىٱللَّهِ ۖقَالَٱلْحَوَارِيُّونَنَحْنُأَنصَارُٱللَّهِءَامَنَّابِٱللَّهِوَٱشْهَدْبِأَنَّامُسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūnabi-annāwa-ish'hadbil-lahiāmannāl-lahianṣārunaḥnul-ḥawāriyūnaqālal-lahiilāanṣārīmanqālal-kuf'ramin'humuʿīsāaḥassafalammā
Then whenperceivedIsafrom them[the] disbeliefhe saidWho(will be) my helperstoAllahSaidthe disciplesWe(will be the) helpers(of) Allahwe believe[d]in Allahand bear witnessthat we(are) Muslims
3:52
رَبَّنَآءَامَنَّابِمَآأَنزَلْتَوَٱتَّبَعْنَاٱلرَّسُولَفَٱكْتُبْنَامَعَٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ
l-shāhidīnamaʿafa-uk'tub'nāl-rasūlawa-ittabaʿnāanzaltabimāāmannārabbanā
Our Lordwe believe[d]in whatYou revealedand we follow[ed]the Messengerthen write usamongthe witnesses
3:53
وَمَكَرُوا۟وَمَكَرَٱللَّهُ ۖوَٱللَّهُخَيْرُٱلْمَـٰكِرِينَ
l-mākirīnakhayruwal-lahul-lahuwamakarawamakarū
And they schemedand plannedAllahAnd Allah(is the) best(of) the planners
3:54
إِذْقَالَٱللَّهُيَـٰعِيسَىٰٓإِنِّىمُتَوَفِّيكَوَرَافِعُكَإِلَىَّوَمُطَهِّرُكَمِنَٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟وَجَاعِلُٱلَّذِينَٱتَّبَعُوكَفَوْقَٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوٓا۟إِلَىٰيَوْمِٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۖثُمَّإِلَىَّمَرْجِعُكُمْفَأَحْكُمُبَيْنَكُمْفِيمَاكُنتُمْفِيهِتَخْتَلِفُونَ
takhtalifūnafīhikuntumfīmābaynakumfa-aḥkumumarjiʿukumilayyathummal-qiyāmatiyawmiilākafarūalladhīnafawqaittabaʿūkaalladhīnawajāʿilukafarūalladhīnaminawamuṭahhirukailayyawarāfiʿukamutawaffīkainnīyāʿīsāl-lahuqālaidh
WhensaidAllahO IsaIndeed, I(will) take youand raise youto Myselfand purify youfromthose whodisbelieve[d]and I will makethose whofollow[ed] yousuperior(to) those whodisbelieve[d]on(the) Day(of) [the] ResurrectionThento Me(is) your returnand I will judgebetween youabout whatyou were[in it]differing
3:55
فَأَمَّاٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْعَذَابًۭاشَدِيدًۭافِىٱلدُّنْيَاوَٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِوَمَالَهُممِّننَّـٰصِرِينَ
nāṣirīnaminlahumwamāwal-ākhiratil-dun'yāfīshadīdanʿadhābanfa-uʿadhibuhumkafarūalladhīnafa-ammā
Then as forthose whodisbelieve[d]then I will punish them(with) a punishmentsevereinthe worldand (in) the HereafterAnd notfor themanyhelpers
3:56
وَأَمَّاٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟وَعَمِلُوا۟ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِفَيُوَفِّيهِمْأُجُورَهُمْ ۗوَٱللَّهُلَايُحِبُّٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnayuḥibbulāwal-lahuujūrahumfayuwaffīhiml-ṣāliḥātiwaʿamilūāmanūalladhīnawa-ammā
And as forthose whobelieve[d]and did[the] righteous deedsthen He will grant them in fulltheir rewardAnd Allah(does) notlovethe wrongdoers
3:57
ذَٰلِكَنَتْلُوهُعَلَيْكَمِنَٱلْـَٔايَـٰتِوَٱلذِّكْرِٱلْحَكِيمِ
l-ḥakīmiwal-dhik'ril-āyātiminaʿalaykanatlūhudhālika
That(is what) We recite [it]to youofthe Versesand the Reminder [the] Wise
3:58
إِنَّمَثَلَعِيسَىٰعِندَٱللَّهِكَمَثَلِءَادَمَ ۖخَلَقَهُۥمِنتُرَابٍۢثُمَّقَالَلَهُۥكُنفَيَكُونُ
fayakūnukunlahuqālathummaturābinminkhalaqahuādamakamathalil-lahiʿindaʿīsāmathalainna
Indeed(the) likeness(of) IsanearAllah(is) like (the) likeness(of) AdamHe created himfromdustthenHe saidto himBeand he was
3:59
ٱلْحَقُّمِنرَّبِّكَفَلَاتَكُنمِّنَٱلْمُمْتَرِينَ
l-mum'tarīnaminatakunfalārabbikaminal-ḥaqu
The truth(is) fromyour Lordso (do) notbeamongthe doubters
3:60
فَمَنْحَآجَّكَفِيهِمِنۢبَعْدِمَاجَآءَكَمِنَٱلْعِلْمِفَقُلْتَعَالَوْا۟نَدْعُأَبْنَآءَنَاوَأَبْنَآءَكُمْوَنِسَآءَنَاوَنِسَآءَكُمْوَأَنفُسَنَاوَأَنفُسَكُمْثُمَّنَبْتَهِلْفَنَجْعَللَّعْنَتَٱللَّهِعَلَىٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
l-kādhibīnaʿalāl-lahilaʿnatafanajʿalnabtahilthummawa-anfusakumwa-anfusanāwanisāakumwanisāanāwa-abnāakumabnāanānadʿutaʿālawfaqull-ʿil'miminajāakamābaʿdiminfīhiḥājjakafaman
Then whoeverargues (with) youconcerning itfromafterwhatcame to youofthe knowledgethen sayComelet us callour sonsand your sonsand our womenand your womenand ourselvesand yourselvesthenlet us pray humblyand [we] invokethe curse(of) Allahonthe liars
3:61
إِنَّهَـٰذَالَهُوَٱلْقَصَصُٱلْحَقُّ ۚوَمَامِنْإِلَـٰهٍإِلَّاٱللَّهُ ۚوَإِنَّٱللَّهَلَهُوَٱلْعَزِيزُٱلْحَكِيمُ
l-ḥakīmul-ʿazīzulahuwal-lahawa-innal-lahuillāilāhinminwamāl-ḥaqul-qaṣaṣulahuwahādhāinna
Indeedthissurely it (is)the narration [the] trueAnd (there is) no(of)godexceptAllahAnd indeedAllahsurely He(is) the All-Mightythe All-Wise
3:62
فَإِنتَوَلَّوْا۟فَإِنَّٱللَّهَعَلِيمٌۢبِٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
bil-muf'sidīnaʿalīmunl-lahafa-innatawallawfa-in
And ifthey turn backthen indeedAllah(is) All-Knowingof the corrupters
3:63
قُلْيَـٰٓأَهْلَٱلْكِتَـٰبِتَعَالَوْا۟إِلَىٰكَلِمَةٍۢسَوَآءٍۭبَيْنَنَاوَبَيْنَكُمْأَلَّانَعْبُدَإِلَّاٱللَّهَوَلَانُشْرِكَبِهِۦشَيْـًۭٔاوَلَايَتَّخِذَبَعْضُنَابَعْضًاأَرْبَابًۭامِّندُونِٱللَّهِ ۚفَإِنتَوَلَّوْا۟فَقُولُوا۟ٱشْهَدُوا۟بِأَنَّامُسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūnabi-annāish'hadūfaqūlūtawallawfa-inl-lahidūniminarbābanbaʿḍanbaʿḍunāyattakhidhawalāshayanbihinush'rikawalāl-lahaillānaʿbudaallāwabaynakumbaynanāsawāinkalimatinilātaʿālawl-kitābiyāahlaqul
SayO People(of) the BookCometoa wordequitablebetween usand between you that notwe worshipexceptAllahand notwe associate partnerswith Him anythingand nottakesome of us(to) others(as) lordsfrombesidesAllahThen ifthey turn awaythen sayBear witnessthat we(are) Muslims
3:64
يَـٰٓأَهْلَٱلْكِتَـٰبِلِمَتُحَآجُّونَفِىٓإِبْرَٰهِيمَوَمَآأُنزِلَتِٱلتَّوْرَىٰةُوَٱلْإِنجِيلُإِلَّامِنۢبَعْدِهِۦٓ ۚأَفَلَاتَعْقِلُونَ
taʿqilūnaafalābaʿdihiminillāwal-injīlul-tawrātuunzilatiwamāib'rāhīmafītuḥājjūnalimal-kitābiyāahla
O People(of) the BookWhy(do) you argueconcerningIbrahimwhile notwas revealedthe Tauratand the Injeelexceptfromafter himThen why don'tyou use your intellect
3:65
هَـٰٓأَنتُمْهَـٰٓؤُلَآءِحَـٰجَجْتُمْفِيمَالَكُمبِهِۦعِلْمٌۭفَلِمَتُحَآجُّونَفِيمَالَيْسَلَكُمبِهِۦعِلْمٌۭ ۚوَٱللَّهُيَعْلَمُوَأَنتُمْلَاتَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūnalāwa-antumyaʿlamuwal-lahuʿil'munbihilakumlaysafīmātuḥājjūnafalimaʿil'munbihilakumfīmāḥājajtumhāulāihāantum
Here you are those whoarguedabout what[for] youof it(have some) knowledgeThen why(do) you argueabout whatnotfor youof it(any) knowledgeAnd Allahknowswhile you(do) notknow
3:66
مَاكَانَإِبْرَٰهِيمُيَهُودِيًّۭاوَلَانَصْرَانِيًّۭاوَلَـٰكِنكَانَحَنِيفًۭامُّسْلِمًۭاوَمَاكَانَمِنَٱلْمُشْرِكِينَ
l-mush'rikīnaminakānawamāmus'limanḥanīfankānawalākinnaṣrāniyyanwalāyahūdiyyanib'rāhīmukānamā
NotwasIbrahima Jewand nota Christian[and] buthe wasa trueMuslimand nothe wasfromthe polytheists
3:67
إِنَّأَوْلَىٱلنَّاسِبِإِبْرَٰهِيمَلَلَّذِينَٱتَّبَعُوهُوَهَـٰذَاٱلنَّبِىُّوَٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟ ۗوَٱللَّهُوَلِىُّٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
l-mu'minīnawaliyyuwal-lahuāmanūwa-alladhīnal-nabiyuwahādhāittabaʿūhulalladhīnabi-ib'rāhīmal-nāsiawlāinna
Indeedthe best to claim relationship(of) peoplewith Ibrahim(are) those whofollow himand this[the] Prophetand those whobelieve[d]And Allah(is) a Guardian(of) the believers
3:68
وَدَّتطَّآئِفَةٌۭمِّنْأَهْلِٱلْكِتَـٰبِلَوْيُضِلُّونَكُمْوَمَايُضِلُّونَإِلَّآأَنفُسَهُمْوَمَايَشْعُرُونَ
yashʿurūnawamāanfusahumillāyuḍillūnawamāyuḍillūnakumlawl-kitābiahliminṭāifatunwaddat
Wisheda groupfrom(the) People(of) the Bookifthey could lead you astrayand notthey lead astrayexceptthemselvesand notthey perceive
3:69
يَـٰٓأَهْلَٱلْكِتَـٰبِلِمَتَكْفُرُونَبِـَٔايَـٰتِٱللَّهِوَأَنتُمْتَشْهَدُونَ
tashhadūnawa-antuml-lahibiāyātitakfurūnalimal-kitābiyāahla
O People(of) the BookWhy doyou deny[in] the Signs(of) Allahwhile youbear witness
3:70
يَـٰٓأَهْلَٱلْكِتَـٰبِلِمَتَلْبِسُونَٱلْحَقَّبِٱلْبَـٰطِلِوَتَكْتُمُونَٱلْحَقَّوَأَنتُمْتَعْلَمُونَ
taʿlamūnawa-antuml-ḥaqawataktumūnabil-bāṭilil-ḥaqatalbisūnalimal-kitābiyāahla
O People(of) the BookWhydo you mixthe truthwith the falsehoodand concealthe truthwhile youknow
3:71
وَقَالَتطَّآئِفَةٌۭمِّنْأَهْلِٱلْكِتَـٰبِءَامِنُوا۟بِٱلَّذِىٓأُنزِلَعَلَىٱلَّذِينَءَامَنُوا۟وَجْهَٱلنَّهَارِوَٱكْفُرُوٓا۟ءَاخِرَهُۥلَعَلَّهُمْيَرْجِعُونَ
yarjiʿūnalaʿallahumākhirahuwa-uk'furūl-nahāriwajhaāmanūalladhīnaʿalāunzilabi-alladhīāminūl-kitābiahliminṭāifatunwaqālat
And saida groupof(the) People(of) the BookBelievein whatwas revealedonthose whobelieve[d](at the) beginning(of) the dayand reject(at) its endperhaps they mayreturn
3:72
وَلَاتُؤْمِنُوٓا۟إِلَّالِمَنتَبِعَدِينَكُمْقُلْإِنَّٱلْهُدَىٰهُدَىٱللَّهِأَنيُؤْتَىٰٓأَحَدٌۭمِّثْلَمَآأُوتِيتُمْأَوْيُحَآجُّوكُمْعِندَرَبِّكُمْ ۗقُلْإِنَّٱلْفَضْلَبِيَدِٱللَّهِيُؤْتِيهِمَنيَشَآءُ ۗوَٱللَّهُوَٰسِعٌعَلِيمٌۭ
ʿalīmunwāsiʿunwal-lahuyashāumanyu'tīhil-lahibiyadil-faḍlainnaqulrabbikumʿindayuḥājjūkumawūtītummāmith'laaḥadunyu'tāanl-lahihudāl-hudāinnaquldīnakumtabiʿalimanillātu'minūwalā
And (do) notbelieveexcept(the one) whofollowsyour religionSayIndeedthe (true) guidance(is the) Guidance(of) Allah lestis given(to) one (the) like(of) whatwas given to youorthey may argue with younearyour LordSayIndeedthe Bounty(is) in the Hand(of) AllahHe gives it(to) whomHe willsand Allah(is) All-EncompassingAll-Knowing
3:73
يَخْتَصُّبِرَحْمَتِهِۦمَنيَشَآءُ ۗوَٱللَّهُذُوٱلْفَضْلِٱلْعَظِيمِ
l-ʿaẓīmil-faḍlidhūwal-lahuyashāumanbiraḥmatihiyakhtaṣṣu
He choosesfor His MercywhomHe willsAnd Allah(is) the Possessor(of) Bounty [the] great
3:74
۞ وَمِنْأَهْلِٱلْكِتَـٰبِمَنْإِنتَأْمَنْهُبِقِنطَارٍۢيُؤَدِّهِۦٓإِلَيْكَوَمِنْهُممَّنْإِنتَأْمَنْهُبِدِينَارٍۢلَّايُؤَدِّهِۦٓإِلَيْكَإِلَّامَادُمْتَعَلَيْهِقَآئِمًۭا ۗذَٰلِكَبِأَنَّهُمْقَالُوا۟لَيْسَعَلَيْنَافِىٱلْأُمِّيِّـۧنَسَبِيلٌۭوَيَقُولُونَعَلَىٱللَّهِٱلْكَذِبَوَهُمْيَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnawahuml-kadhibal-lahiʿalāwayaqūlūnasabīlunl-umiyīnafīʿalaynālaysaqālūbi-annahumdhālikaqāimanʿalayhidum'tamāillāilaykayu-addihilābidīnārintamanhuinmanwamin'humilaykayu-addihibiqinṭārintamanhuinmanl-kitābiahliwamin
And from(the) People(of) the Book(is he) whoifyou entrust himwith a great amount of wealthhe will return itto youAnd from them(is he) whoifyou entrust himwith a single coinnothe will return itto youexceptthatyou keep constantlyover himstandingThat(is) because theysaidNoton usconcerningthe unlettered peopleany [way] (accountability)And they sayaboutAllahthe liewhile theyknow
3:75
بَلَىٰمَنْأَوْفَىٰبِعَهْدِهِۦوَٱتَّقَىٰفَإِنَّٱللَّهَيُحِبُّٱلْمُتَّقِينَ
l-mutaqīnayuḥibbul-lahafa-innawa-ittaqābiʿahdihiawfāmanbalā
Naywhoeverfulfillshis covenantand fears (Allah)then indeedAllahlovesthose who fear (Him)
3:76
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَيَشْتَرُونَبِعَهْدِٱللَّهِوَأَيْمَـٰنِهِمْثَمَنًۭاقَلِيلًاأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَلَاخَلَـٰقَلَهُمْفِىٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِوَلَايُكَلِّمُهُمُٱللَّهُوَلَايَنظُرُإِلَيْهِمْيَوْمَٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِوَلَايُزَكِّيهِمْوَلَهُمْعَذَابٌأَلِيمٌۭ
alīmunʿadhābunwalahumyuzakkīhimwalāl-qiyāmatiyawmailayhimyanẓuruwalāl-lahuyukallimuhumuwalāl-ākhiratifīlahumkhalāqalāulāikaqalīlanthamananwa-aymānihiml-lahibiʿahdiyashtarūnaalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whoexchange(the) Covenant(of) Allahand their oaths(for) a pricelittlethose nosharefor theminthe Hereafterand notwill speak to themAllahand notlookat them(on the) Day(of) the Resurrectionand notpurify themand for them(is) a punishmentpainful
3:77
وَإِنَّمِنْهُمْلَفَرِيقًۭايَلْوُۥنَأَلْسِنَتَهُمبِٱلْكِتَـٰبِلِتَحْسَبُوهُمِنَٱلْكِتَـٰبِوَمَاهُوَمِنَٱلْكِتَـٰبِوَيَقُولُونَهُوَمِنْعِندِٱللَّهِوَمَاهُوَمِنْعِندِٱللَّهِوَيَقُولُونَعَلَىٱللَّهِٱلْكَذِبَوَهُمْيَعْلَمُونَ
yaʿlamūnawahuml-kadhibal-lahiʿalāwayaqūlūnal-lahiʿindiminhuwawamāl-lahiʿindiminhuwawayaqūlūnal-kitābiminahuwawamāl-kitābiminalitaḥsabūhubil-kitābialsinatahumyalwūnalafarīqanmin'humwa-inna
And indeedamong themsurely (is) a group they distorttheir tonguesin (reciting) the Bookso that you may think it(is) fromthe Bookand notit(is) fromthe BookAnd they sayIt(is)fromAllahBut notit(is)fromAllahAnd they sayaboutAllahthe liewhile theyknow
3:78
مَاكَانَلِبَشَرٍأَنيُؤْتِيَهُٱللَّهُٱلْكِتَـٰبَوَٱلْحُكْمَوَٱلنُّبُوَّةَثُمَّيَقُولَلِلنَّاسِكُونُوا۟عِبَادًۭالِّىمِندُونِٱللَّهِوَلَـٰكِنكُونُوا۟رَبَّـٰنِيِّـۧنَبِمَاكُنتُمْتُعَلِّمُونَٱلْكِتَـٰبَوَبِمَاكُنتُمْتَدْرُسُونَ
tadrusūnakuntumwabimāl-kitābatuʿallimūnakuntumbimārabbāniyyīnakūnūwalākinl-lahidūniminlīʿibādankūnūlilnnāsiyaqūlathummawal-nubuwatawal-ḥuk'mal-kitābal-lahuyu'tiyahuanlibasharinkānamā
Notisfor a humanthatgives himAllahthe Bookand the wisdomand the Prophethoodthenhe saysto the peopleBeworshippersof mefrombesidesAllahbut (would say)Beworshippers of the Lordbecauseyou have beenteachingthe Bookand becauseyou have beenstudying (it)
3:79
وَلَايَأْمُرَكُمْأَنتَتَّخِذُوا۟ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَوَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَأَرْبَابًا ۗأَيَأْمُرُكُمبِٱلْكُفْرِبَعْدَإِذْأَنتُممُّسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūnaantumidhbaʿdabil-kuf'riayamurukumarbābanwal-nabiyīnal-malāikatatattakhidhūanyamurakumwalā
And nothe will order youthatyou takethe Angelsand the Prophets(as) lordsWould he order youto [the] disbeliefafter[when]you (have become)Muslims
3:80
وَإِذْأَخَذَٱللَّهُمِيثَـٰقَٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَلَمَآءَاتَيْتُكُممِّنكِتَـٰبٍۢوَحِكْمَةٍۢثُمَّجَآءَكُمْرَسُولٌۭمُّصَدِّقٌۭلِّمَامَعَكُمْلَتُؤْمِنُنَّبِهِۦوَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥ ۚقَالَءَأَقْرَرْتُمْوَأَخَذْتُمْعَلَىٰذَٰلِكُمْإِصْرِى ۖقَالُوٓا۟أَقْرَرْنَا ۚقَالَفَٱشْهَدُوا۟وَأَنَا۠مَعَكُممِّنَٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ
l-shāhidīnaminamaʿakumwa-anāfa-ish'hadūqālaaqrarnāqālūiṣ'rīdhālikumʿalāwa-akhadhtuma-aqrartumqālawalatanṣurunnahubihilatu'minunnamaʿakumlimāmuṣaddiqunrasūlunjāakumthummawaḥik'matinkitābinminātaytukumlamāl-nabiyīnamīthāqal-lahuakhadhawa-idh
And whentookAllahcovenant(of) the ProphetsCertainly, whateverI (have) given youof(the) Bookand wisdomthencomes to youa Messengerconfirmingthat which(is) with youyou must believein himand you must help himHe saidDo you affirmand takeonthat (condition)My CovenantThey saidWe affirmHe saidThen bear witnessand I (am)with youamongthe witnesses
3:81
فَمَنتَوَلَّىٰبَعْدَذَٰلِكَفَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَهُمُٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ
l-fāsiqūnahumufa-ulāikadhālikabaʿdatawallāfaman
Then whoeverturns awayafterthatthen thosethey(are) the defiantly disobedient
3:82
أَفَغَيْرَدِينِٱللَّهِيَبْغُونَوَلَهُۥٓأَسْلَمَمَنفِىٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِوَٱلْأَرْضِطَوْعًۭاوَكَرْهًۭاوَإِلَيْهِيُرْجَعُونَ
yur'jaʿūnawa-ilayhiwakarhanṭawʿanwal-arḍil-samāwātifīmanaslamawalahuyabghūnal-lahidīniafaghayra
So is (it) other than(the) religion(of) Allahthey seekWhile to Him(have) submittedwhatever(is) inthe heavensand the earthwillinglyor unwillinglyand towards Himthey will be returned
3:83
قُلْءَامَنَّابِٱللَّهِوَمَآأُنزِلَعَلَيْنَاوَمَآأُنزِلَعَلَىٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمَوَإِسْمَـٰعِيلَوَإِسْحَـٰقَوَيَعْقُوبَوَٱلْأَسْبَاطِوَمَآأُوتِىَمُوسَىٰوَعِيسَىٰوَٱلنَّبِيُّونَمِنرَّبِّهِمْلَانُفَرِّقُبَيْنَأَحَدٍۢمِّنْهُمْوَنَحْنُلَهُۥمُسْلِمُونَ
mus'limūnalahuwanaḥnumin'humaḥadinbaynanufarriqulārabbihimminwal-nabiyūnawaʿīsāmūsāūtiyawamāwal-asbāṭiwayaʿqūbawa-is'ḥāqawa-is'māʿīlaib'rāhīmaʿalāunzilawamāʿalaynāunzilawamābil-lahiāmannāqul
SayWe believedin Allahand what(is) revealedon usand whatwas revealedonIbrahimand Ishmaeland Isaacand Yaquband the descendentsand whatwas given(to) Musaand Isaand the Prophetsfromtheir LordNotwe make distinctionbetweenanyof themand weto Him(are) submissive
3:84
وَمَنيَبْتَغِغَيْرَٱلْإِسْلَـٰمِدِينًۭافَلَنيُقْبَلَمِنْهُوَهُوَفِىٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِمِنَٱلْخَـٰسِرِينَ
l-khāsirīnaminal-ākhiratifīwahuwamin'huyuq'balafalandīnanl-is'lāmighayrayabtaghiwaman
And whoeverseeksother than[the] Islam(as) religionthen neverwill be acceptedfrom himand heinthe Hereafter(will be) fromthe losers
3:85
كَيْفَيَهْدِىٱللَّهُقَوْمًۭاكَفَرُوا۟بَعْدَإِيمَـٰنِهِمْوَشَهِدُوٓا۟أَنَّٱلرَّسُولَحَقٌّۭوَجَآءَهُمُٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ ۚوَٱللَّهُلَايَهْدِىٱلْقَوْمَٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
l-ẓālimīnal-qawmayahdīlāwal-lahul-bayinātuwajāahumuḥaqqunl-rasūlaannawashahidūīmānihimbaʿdakafarūqawmanl-lahuyahdīkayfa
How(shall) guideAllaha people(who) disbelievedaftertheir beliefand (had) witnessedthatthe Messenger(is) trueand came to themthe clear proofsAnd Allah(does) notguidethe people[the] wrongdoers
3:86
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَجَزَآؤُهُمْأَنَّعَلَيْهِمْلَعْنَةَٱللَّهِوَٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةِوَٱلنَّاسِأَجْمَعِينَ
ajmaʿīnawal-nāsiwal-malāikatil-lahilaʿnataʿalayhimannajazāuhumulāika
Those their recompensethaton them(is the) curse(of) Allahand the Angelsand the peopleall together
3:87
خَـٰلِدِينَفِيهَالَايُخَفَّفُعَنْهُمُٱلْعَذَابُوَلَاهُمْيُنظَرُونَ
yunẓarūnahumwalāl-ʿadhābuʿanhumuyukhaffafulāfīhākhālidīna
(They will) abide foreverin itNotwill be lightenedfor themthe punishmentand nottheywill be reprieved
3:88
إِلَّاٱلَّذِينَتَابُوا۟مِنۢبَعْدِذَٰلِكَوَأَصْلَحُوا۟فَإِنَّٱللَّهَغَفُورٌۭرَّحِيمٌ
raḥīmunghafūrunl-lahafa-innawa-aṣlaḥūdhālikabaʿdimintābūalladhīnaillā
Exceptthose whorepentfromafterthatand reform[ed] themselvesThen indeedAllah(is) Oft-ForgivingMost Merciful
3:89
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟بَعْدَإِيمَـٰنِهِمْثُمَّٱزْدَادُوا۟كُفْرًۭالَّنتُقْبَلَتَوْبَتُهُمْوَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَهُمُٱلضَّآلُّونَ
l-ḍālūnahumuwa-ulāikatawbatuhumtuq'balalankuf'raniz'dādūthummaīmānihimbaʿdakafarūalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whodisbelievedaftertheir beliefthenthey increased(in) disbeliefneverwill be acceptedtheir repentanceand those they(are) those who have gone astray
3:90
إِنَّٱلَّذِينَكَفَرُوا۟وَمَاتُوا۟وَهُمْكُفَّارٌۭفَلَنيُقْبَلَمِنْأَحَدِهِممِّلْءُٱلْأَرْضِذَهَبًۭاوَلَوِٱفْتَدَىٰبِهِۦٓ ۗأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَلَهُمْعَذَابٌأَلِيمٌۭوَمَالَهُممِّننَّـٰصِرِينَ
nāṣirīnaminlahumwamāalīmunʿadhābunlahumulāikabihiif'tadāwalawidhahabanl-arḍimil'uaḥadihimminyuq'balafalankuffārunwahumwamātūkafarūalladhīnainna
Indeedthose whodisbelieve[d]and diedwhile they(are) disbelieversthen neverwill be acceptedfromany one of themfullearth(of) gold[and] (even) ifhe offered as ransomitThose for them(is) a punishmentpainfuland not(will be) for themanyhelpers
3:91
لَنتَنَالُوا۟ٱلْبِرَّحَتَّىٰتُنفِقُوا۟مِمَّاتُحِبُّونَ ۚوَمَاتُنفِقُوا۟مِنشَىْءٍۢفَإِنَّٱللَّهَبِهِۦعَلِيمٌۭ
ʿalīmunbihil-lahafa-innashayinmintunfiqūwamātuḥibbūnamimmātunfiqūḥattāl-biratanālūlan
Neverwill you attain[the] righteousnessuntilyou spendfrom whatyou loveAnd whateveryou spendofa thingthen indeedAllahof it(is) All-Knowing
3:92
